Mac Jones' Starting Job In Jeopardy?
2 years agoNew England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was non-committal when asked if quarterback Mac Jones would start the team's final three games of the regular season. Jones had the worst game of his young career in the Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, completing only 13 of his 31 pass attempts for 112 yards. He completed just 41.9 percent of his passes and averaged 3.6 yards per pass. Rookie Bailey Zappe won both of the games he started earlier this year when Jones was injured, so it's possible that Belichick goes back to the rookie if Jones looks bad again this Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 24-year-old Jones hasn't topped 200 yards passing in four of the last seven games, making him an uninspiring QB2 the rest of the way.
