Luis Severino Leaves Camp For Testing
5 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (elbow) has left camp and is headed to New York for a battery of tests starting Monday. The Yankees don't know how long Severino will need to be shut down, and manager Aaron Boone said it's too early to say if the 26-year-old will be ready for the start of the season. Severino only feels pain in his right arm when he throws changeups, but two offseason MRI exams and a CT scan in the offseason didn't show any structural damage. The right-hander made just three starts in 2019 due to shoulder and lat issues, so it's certainly concerning that he's hurt again. Severino doesn't believe loose bodies in his elbow are the cause of the pain. Severino has high-end potential in fantasy when healthy, but this latest news should make owners cautious in taking him as an SP2.
