Kyle Freeland Injured Running The Bases Monday
8 months agoColorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland (shoulder) suffered an apparent right-shoulder injury in Monday's loss to the Philadelphia Phillies when he collided with relief pitcher Jeff Hoffman on a wild pitch when he was called out sliding into home plate. Freeland looked to be in a lot of pain, but we'll pass along word when we have more condition on the severity of the injury to his right, non-throwing shoulder. The 30-year-old southpaw was forced to run in this game with the Rockies having a short-handed bench to begin the week due to injuries and illnesses. On top of his injury, Freeland has been dreadful on the mound so far this year, going 0-3 with a 13.21 ERA (6.31 FIP) and 2.55 WHIP with eight walks and nine strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings in his four starts. He leads the league in hits allowed (32) and earned runs (23).
