The New Jersey Devils signed veteran goaltender Jonathan Bernier on Wednesday. The contract is for two years with a $4.125 million AAV. Bernier carried the Detroit Red Wings in what was a trying year for Detroit as a whole. He posted a 9-11-1 record in 23 starts with a 2.99 GAA and .914 save percentage. It may seem like an overpay but New Jersey is near the salary cap floor and desperately needed a backup for Mackenzie Blackwood. Bernier expects to have a little more fantasy value in New Jersey and may play 30-35 games or more. He could be considered a nice third goaltender or even fourth in deeper fantasy leagues. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
