Jonah Heim Takes Batting Practice Friday
1 year agoTexas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim (wrist) took live batting practice on the field at Oracle Park on Friday before the game against the San Francisco Giants. Heim continues to take batting practice this week and is healing nicely from a partially torn tendon sheath in his left wrist. Barring a setback this weekend, the 28-year-old switch-hitting backstop could return early next week for the Rangers. When he does return, he should resume primary catching duties behind the plate in Texas. Heim made his first All-Star team this year and is hitting .280/.337/.479 with an .816 OPS, 14 home runs, 70 RBI and 49 runs scored in 90 games. He's been extremely valuable in fantasy at a weak catcher position. Mitch Garver will continue to see more starts behind the plate until Heim is back.
