Veteran goaltender Jaroslav Halak landed with the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. He agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. The unrestricted free agent will pair with promising goalie Thatcher Demko. Although the younger netminder figures to see the lion's share of the action, Halak will certainly be called upon to play upwards of 30 games if healthy. The veteran of 15 NHL seasons is now 36 years old but he has posted solid numbers in recent years. Last season, he slipped a bit with a .905 save percentage and 2.53 GAA in 19 games while backing up Tuukka Rask with the Boston Bruins. Halak has also played with the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and New York Islanders. He has 281 career wins and a .916 save percentage. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
