Clyde Edwards-Helaire Impressing At OTAs
2 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is in great shape this offseason, and head coach Andy Reid noticed he looks quick and strong during organized team activities this week. Edwards-Helaire caught a touchdown down the left sideline from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 7-on-7 drills on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is stepping up early in the offseason with Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) sidelined. The former first-round pick in 2020 has been a bust for the Chiefs and is basically buried on the depth chart in KC heading into the 2023 season behind Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon, but he appears to be motivated. Injuries have mostly been to blame, as he played in just 10 games due to an ankle sprain in 2022 and finished with just 302 rushing yards. Right now, he's hard to justify drafting in standard leagues.
