Is Harold Fannin Jr. Out For The Season? Injury Update On Coming Back For Fantasy Football (Week 18)

Harold Fannin Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Is Harold Fannin Jr. out for the season? When is Harold Fannin Jr. coming back? The latest Harold Fannin Jr. injury update and fantasy football outlook heading into Week 18.

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has been one of the best players at the position for the last few weeks and has emerged as a favorite target for quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Sanders has played well enough since taking over as Browns starter to get the nod in Week 18, but it isn't clear if he'll have Fannin to rely on as a receiver.

The rookie tight end from Bowling Green was forced to leave Week 17's win over the Steelers after catching a touchdown. Will he be able to get back on the field this week for the regular season finale?

Will Fannin play again this season? Should fantasy managers hold onto him in redraft leagues? Let's dive in!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is Harold Fannin Jr. Out For The 2025 Season?

Fannin came into Week 17 as questionable with a groin injury, which he sustained in practice on Friday. He played through the injury and reaggravated it while trying to adjust to this pass from Sanders.

He was able to secure the score, but he did not return after that, finishing with two catches on two targets for 30 yards and the touchdown. He received medical attention on the field after the score but was able to make his way to the sideline under his own power.

After the game, he told reporters that he would undergo further testing, including an MRI (according to Zac Jackson), to determine if he could play in Week 18. The team hasn't released those results yet or given any indication of whether Fannin will be able to play or will be done for the season.

Harold Fannin Jr. 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fannin has established himself as a strong starting tight end going forward after his impressive rookie season. He leads the Browns with 72 receptions, 731 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. He set the team record for most catches by a rookie and has the fifth-most receiving yards by any rookie for the Browns. His receiving yards also rank in the top 10 for most by any rookie tight end in NFL history.

Fannin had a productive start to the season, but he has been especially strong since Sanders took over at quarterback. He scored four touchdowns over his last five games and went over 100 yards receiving for the first time in his career in a huge game against the Titans in Week 14.

Fannin now has a great tight end matchup against the Bengals to finish the season since Cincinnati has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends this year by a wide margin. If Fannin can make it back, he definitely deserves a starting slot in standard-sized leagues, so hold onto him until he's ruled out.

If he does miss the game, Blake Whiteheart and Sal Cannella will probably be the team's top two tight ends, since David Njoku has missed the last three games with a knee injury.
