FanDuel NBA Lineup Picks (2/9/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

With the All-Star break right around the corner, we have six games on Fanduel's "main slate," beginning at 6 p.m. (eastern). After some moves were made before the trade deadline, minutes have opened up throughout the league. As a result, we will start to get some reliable performances from players who may not have been as relevant to start the year. Before we begin, the Hawks currently have 11 players listed on the latest injury report, including Trae Young, who may miss another one after not suiting up on Friday against Boston due to an ankle issue. Clint Capela, who has yet to make his debut for Atlanta after being traded by the Rockets, will sit once again against New York. Andre Drummond, however, will play his first game as a Cavalier against the visiting Clippers. To round out the list, Wendell Carter Jr., Kris Dunn, Otto Porter, Lauri Markkanen, Justise Winslow, Thomas Bryant, Jimmy Butler, and Tyler Herro are all confirmed out. On the other hand, Deandre Bembry, Dewayne Dedmon, Bruno Fernando, Treveon Graham, De'Andre Hunter, Cam Reddish, Chandler Hutchison, Zach LaVine, Tomas Satoransky, Denzel Valentine, Daniel Gafford, Glenn Robinson III, Al Horford, Alec Burks, Joel Embiid, Gorgui Dieng, Eric Gordon, Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley, Marcus Morris, Jae Crowder, Andre Iguodala, and Hassan Whiteside are all on the fence.

Memphis (-1.5) at Washington is our target game of the day, with both teams projected to combine for a whopping 240 points. Look for guys like Bradley Beal, JA Morant, and even Jonas Valanciunas to get more love than usual--at least they should. Utah at Houston (-4) and L.A. Clippers (-4) at Cleveland are both tied for second and are expected to total 233 points. Lastly, the Clippers and Knicks will be playing the second of back-to-back outings, while the Jazz, Hawks, and Heat will be playing the first of consecutive outings.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/9/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. FanDuel DFS Guards

Bradley Beal - SG, vs. MEM ($10,300)

Beal missed some time with a leg injury at the end of December and beginning of January. Upon his return against the Utah Jazz a few weeks into the new year, he was subsequently brought back slowly and faced a minutes restriction as a result. However, he has now gotten back on track and has recorded at least 46 fantasy points in each of his previous eight games. If you are looking to save some dough, while potentially getting James Harden-esque numbers on Sunday, check out Beal, who should remain fired up after getting snubbed from an All-Star appearance.

Elfrid Payton - PG, @ ATL ($7,300)

The Knicks were rumored to have expressed a great deal of interest in bringing D'Angelo Russell back to New York City. However, things didn't exactly work out as D'Lo is now in Minnesota to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. Whether Payton, who signed a two-year deal this past offseason, can be classified as the team's point guard of the future is unknown at the moment, but he continues to make a strong case for himself for a club that is in the middle of a rebuild. The 25-year-old has turned up the volume as of late and dropped a triple-double against the Cavaliers on Monday night. He followed that up with a seven-steal performance against his former team, the Orlando Magic, a few nights after that, before nearly dumping a double-double on the Pistons on Saturday. He has a favorable matchup against a struggling Hawks team on Sunday evening, and though his price has risen over the last few weeks, it is still a bargain considering his potential output, even with RJ Barrett back on the floor.

JA Morant - PG, @ WAS ($6,200)

As mentioned, Morant should get plenty of attention from those building their DFS lineup on Sunday as he, along with the rest of the Grizzlies, will be matched up against a Wizards team that has struggled all season defensively. The rookie has accumulated double-digit outings in each of his last eight games and should be shadowed by Ish Smith, who is allowing 0.5 fantasy points per minute on the year. Expect this game to move fast as both squads like to move the ball around quickly, which should mean plenty of fantasy points up for grabs for those participating.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

John Collins - PF, vs. NYK ($7,800)

Collins has been a beast recently and could continue to get some additional chances to produce if Trae Young doesn't play once again. He has logged at least 41 fantasy points in five of his last six games, and could easily hit that mark again against a Knicks team that hasn't impressed anyone this season.

Tobias Harris - SF, vs. CHI ($6,600)

Joel Embiid and Al Horford are both questionable, while Josh Richardson remains on a minutes restriction. As a result, look for Harris, along with Ben Simmons, to carry the load if either Embiid and/or Horford isn't on the floor, which could easily happen against the Bulls. He has logged at least 41.4 fantasy points in his last two games and will get a significant bump in both usage and the +/- category if those guys don't suit up. Keep an eye on things prior to opening tip.

Rui Hachimura - PF, vs. MEM ($4,800)

As many of you remember, Washington was a wounded unit around a month ago and was a consistent source of potential value plays for a significant period. Hachimura, who was one of the Wizards' players impacted by injury, made his return to the lineup a few games ago against the Warriors after injuring his groin back in December. He played just 25 minutes in that one but still managed to come close to nabbing a double-double. He followed that performance with a 17-point, six-rebound outing against the Mavericks on Friday night. The rookie may log around 30 minutes against the Grizzlies and should continue to benefit from the absence of Thomas Bryant, who is expected to be out until after the break. At this price, it is not unthinkable that he will hit value, at the very least. Also, look for Davis Bertans, who had 34.1 fantasy points against Dallas, to be featured heavily on the offensive end, while only costing you an extra $800.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, @ HOU ($7,900)

Gobert could dominate against a Rockets team that no longer has Clint Capela. Without Capela, Houston will be forced to run small, similar to how the Warriors have used Draymond Green at the five-spot in the past. With a significant size mismatch, the big man could potentially do some damage as neither P.J. Tucker or Robert Covington will be able to do much to stop him underneath the rim.
