Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Keon Coleman, Hollywood Brown, and Alec Pierce in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.
Through seven weeks of the 2025 NFL season, a clear trend has been established in fantasy football: wide receivers on good offenses will produce, and can do so even with stiff competition for targets.
While WR2s and WR3s in these offenses may not be consistent performers in fantasy football, their week-to-week upside makes them hard to ignore.
So, should you pick up Coleman, Brown, or Pierce in your fantasy football leagues for Week 8 of 2025? Let's dive in.

Coleman got off to a hot start to 2025, catching eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's astonishing comeback win over Baltimore in Week 1. However, since that excellent performance, Coleman has caught four passes or fewer in every single game.

Despite being one of the only contested-catch specialists on the Bills' roster, Coleman has not been seeing consistent targets in their offense. He was targeted 11 times in Week 1, but received three, four, four, seven, and six targets in his next five games, respectively.
In retrospect, the Ravens' secondary is one of the league's worst, and the Bills were behind in that game, which explains why Coleman was so productive in Week 1. But was it just a mirage, or is Coleman still capable of producing like a starting fantasy WR? We will find out in the next few weeks, as WR Joshua Palmer and TE Dalton Kincaid are banged up.
Outside of WR Khalil Shakir, Coleman doesn't have much competition for targets. If he can secure a larger target share for himself, he could emerge as a solid flex option in 12-team leagues.
Marquise Brown Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 48% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
With the return of top wideout Rashee Rice, the Chiefs' stable of pass-catchers is incredibly crowded. Rice, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, Tyquan Thornton, and JuJu Smith-Schuster are all competing with Brown for snaps, routes, and targets. However, Brown continues to earn a decent target share despite this competition.
In Week 1, in the absence of both Worthy and Rice, Brown received a whopping 16 targets. And while he has not come even close to that in any other game this season, Brown is still averaging over five targets per game in the other six games he has played in.
He scored a touchdown in the Chiefs' blowout win over the Raiders in Week 7, his fourth of the year. His TD upside makes him a flex option despite his reduced role in KC's offense.

While Brown's role may reduce further down the stretch, he's a fine pickup until further notice as a supporting receiver in one of the league's top passing offenses.
Alec Pierce Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups
Rostered: 3% of Leagues
Baller Move: Add In 12+ Team PPR leagues
Like Brown, Pierce is a supporting piece in a thriving and crowded passing attack. Rookie tight end Tyler Warren has established himself atop the Colts' pecking order, and receiver Michael Pittman Jr. isn't far behind. Pierce is competing with the two of them and also Josh Downs, who did not play in Week 7 due to a concussion.
Pierce's role is clear: he is responsible for going deep and helping the Colts hit big plays in the passing game. As a result, he has caught just 16 passes this season. However, he is averaging nearly 20 yards per reception, and he saw a boost in production in Week 7 due to Downs' absence.

Pierce caught five passes for 98 yards in the Colts' win over the Chargers, both of which were season highs. If Downs remains out for Week 8, Pierce should continue to earn a decent target share and potentially score his first touchdown of the season.
