Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football waiver wire outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider adding off waivers in Week 4:
Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. led the backfield in carries last week against the Raiders and ran well overall, gaining 39 yards on 11 rushes. His role for Week 4 against Atlanta could look similar. In the team's first game without Austin Ekeler, Rodriguez surprisingly started at running back and began with four straight carries to begin the game.
The rotation afterwards was a bit sporadic, with Rodriguez and Jacory Croskey-Merritt both splitting most of the work, and then Jeremy McNichols subbed in on pass downs and handled a few touches. The situation remains very fluid in Washington's backfield, and it could remain unclear for the coming weeks.
Rodriguez is set up as the hammer back who can grind out tough yardage, and he tied Croskey-Merritt with two goal-line carries last week. There is upside for a touchdown plunge for Rodriguez in Week 4.
Isaac TeSlaa, WR, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa recorded two catches for 42 yards and a touchdown across his first two NFL games, but he was held catchless in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens.
The 24-year-old also played just 21% of the Lions' offensive snaps after playing 29% in Week 2. TeSlaa is a talented ball-winner with some season-long upside, but he simply does not have a big enough role in Detroit's offense right now to be fantasy relevant.
While remaining a popular rookie breakout candidate, Isaac TeSlaa is a worthy stash candidate in deep leagues, but he should not be started in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.
Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell scored his first touchdown of the season last week and will look to build on that momentum against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Minnesota has been strong against the run, allowing the 10th-fewest fantasy points and just one total touchdown to opposing backs this year.
While the matchup doesn't set up favorably for Gainwell, Jaylen Warren (knee) is questionable, which could open the door for additional opportunities. Warren is expected to suit up in Ireland, but it's unclear if he will receive a full workload.
Although Gainwell logged his lowest snap share of the season in Week 3, he could return to the 40-50% range he held over the first two weeks if Warren is limited. If Warren is surprisingly ruled out, Gainwell would rise to back-end RB2 territory, but for now, he's best viewed as a desperation flex play.
Darnell Mooney, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney did not practice Friday, but it was a rest day for the veteran receiver, not injury-related. Mooney led the team in targets in Week 3 with 11, but was only able to turn it into four catches for 44 scoreless yards.
The 27-year-old likely won't garner double-digit targets again this week, but the good news is that he'll take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Tre Tucker was able to produce eight catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns in this matchup last week, and the speedy Mooney could do similar damage downfield.
The 5-foot-11 wideout owned the highest aDOT on the team in 2024 of 12.3 (Drake London was second with 10.8) and also had the most plays of 20 yards or more with 21 (London had 12). Hopefully Michael Penix Jr. will rebound from his poor showing last week and can feed his receivers the ball. That could be a tall order, though, and Mooney shapes up as a WR4/Flex play with some upside in Week 4.
Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum has turned some heads lately, as he's averaging 6.7 yards per carry over his last two contests and has played more than one-quarter of the offensive snaps during that span. Kyren Williams remains the lead back in Los Angeles, but Corum has made a case to earn more touches.
We do expect the 24-year-old to play at least 25 percent of the snaps in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, but he's not yet a reliable fantasy option for managers looking to round out their starting lineups. Instead, Corum is best viewed as a handcuff, which means he can be stashed on the bench in leagues with at least 12 teams.
Most of his value comes from the points he'd score if Williams ever missed time due to injury, though he could eventually carve out a little bit of standalone value here and there. Fantasy managers should heed this warning and leave Corum out of their lineups, as RotoBaller's experts have him ranked as the overall RB43 in PPR leagues this week.
