The Los Angeles Lakers have extended the contract of head coach JJ Redick, general manager Rob Pelinka announced on Thursday. The details of the extension were not revealed. However, according to ESPN's Shams Charania, Redick received a multi-year extension after his first year as head coach. Redick couldn't guide the Lakers past the first round of the playoffs, suffering a 4-1 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he posted a strong 52-30 record with the team during the regular season. "We think he's a special coach with a special voice that's really helping us define the culture of Lakers excellence," Pelinka said about Redick, who initially signed a four-year contract with the Lakers in 2024.--Taavi PailkRead More News
