Chris Sale Could Make Two Rehab Starts Before Returning
Chris Sale (ribs) are expected to send Sale on a minor-league rehab assignment next week as long as he feels good on Friday after his side session on Thursday, according to The Athletic's David O'Brien. Sale could need as few as two rehab starts before he's activated from the 60-day injured list for the final five to six weeks of the season. The 36-year-old veteran southpaw resumed throwing in mid-July, four weeks after he fractured two ribs while trying to make a defensive play on June 18. The Braves are in the midst of a disappointing lost season, so Atlanta isn't rushing Sale back, but he should be able to provide fantasy managers with a handful of starts to close out the season. The 2024 National League Cy Young winner should remain rostered in all fantasy formats with his return getting closer.
