Max Muncy Exits After Hit-by-Pitch, Considered Day-to-Day
Max Muncy (hand) was hit by a pitch in the right hand during Monday's matchup with the Rangers, subsequently exiting the game. X-rays came back negative, but it's possible the 22-year-old misses a game or two, so for now, consider him day-to-day. The former first-round draft pick hit .252 and popped eight home runs in 31 games since his return to the majors on June 4, but had gone cold recently, going 2-for-16 (.125) over his last four games with zero extra-base hits. Hopefully the injury is nothing serious, but the 22-year-old will need to pick it up at the plate if he wants to stay up with the big league club for good this time.
