Xavier Worthy fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 8 (2024). Should you start or sit Xavier Worthy for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: Outside of touchdowns, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy hasn't had a ton of value to fantasy managers, but since the slew of injuries to KC's WR corps, Worthy has at least seen an uptick in targets. He hasn't gotten an increase in playing time, though.
On Xavier Worthy, don't really care about press. Only need to hit this once a game. Hit the OPEN target please. pic.twitter.com/3fHtY7nUMS

He's an interesting buy-low candidate. He can't really beat press, but it only takes one big play per game to give him week-winning upside. So far, he and Patrick Mahomes II have failed to connect consistently on long passes. It's been a strangely poor season for the three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.

It may take a few more weeks for him to get consistent playing time, though. And he's not a focal point of the offense. The Chiefs signed WR DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans to take over the Rashee Rice role that's been vacated, so it seems that Worthy's role is pretty solidified in the short term.
Simply for his upside, he's a solid start. But fantasy managers should hope to see more consistent targets and higher usage, and a better variety of routes from the rookie.
