Stephen Strasburg Has No Long-Term Concern For Hand Issue
Stephen Strasburg looked excellent through his first four innings Sunday against Baltimore before the wheels fell off in the fifth. Strasburg finished with five runs allowed across 4 ⅓ frames in his season debut, having been continually bumped back due to a nerve issue in his pitching hand. After the game, Strasburg noted that while he felt something mirroring fatigue in his hand, he didn’t believe that he was doing any long-term damage by pitching through it. Clearly the hand is amiss and affecting the All-Star right-hander, so owners may want to keep an eye on Strasburg ahead of his projected start next week when he faces the Orioles again.
