Red Sox Shut Down Adalberto Mondesi Again
9 months agoThe Boston Red Sox have shut down shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (knee) from baseball activities for the time being. The 28-year-old attempted to ramp things up and faced live pitching recently, but he's unfortunately back in shutdown mode. Mondesi tore his ACL in April of 2022 and just can't return his body to full health. The dynamic infielder has been limited to 50 games since 2021 due to several ailments, and simply can't get his career going as one of baseball's most oft-injured players. Fantasy managers holding onto the sliver of hope that Mondesi would return this season can probably pull the plug at this point with only a quarter of action left in the regular season.
