San Diego Padres starting pitcher
Stephen Kolek twirled a gem on Saturday, tossing a complete-game shutout in his second career start in the majors, picking up the win in a 21-0 blowout victory over the Rockies. The 28-year-old scattered five hits and two walks over nine innings while striking out seven. A week ago, the righty tossed five and one-third innings of shutout ball, leaving his ERA at a spotless 0.00 after two starts. The former 11th-round draft pick threw 46 2/3 IP for the Padres in his debut last season, but as a reliever, so this is somewhat uncharted waters for him, although he's worked as a starter in the minors. The 6-foot-3 hurler's next start lines up with a surprisingly stout Mariner lineup, and his recent success should allow the Padres to give
Yu Darvish (elbow) as much time as he needs to build up his arm for a return to the mound.

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher
Walker Buehler (shoulder) is expected to return for the team's series against the Mets that goes from May 19-21, according to manager Alex Cora. The 30-year-old has been on the 15-day injured list with minor bursitis in his right shoulder. Before going down with the injury, the 2x All-Star was 4-1 with a 4.28 ERA (3.72 xFIP), 1.22 WHIP, and a 14.3 percent K-BB%, but had been more effective than those numbers suggest over his last four starts with three of those four registering as quality starts (2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). Although the righty doesn't strike out as many batters as he used to, he should be a solid back-end option for fantasy once he returns.
Hunter Dobbins, who has looked good in limited action, will get another turn through the rotation next week against the Pirates, but could be the odd man out once Buehler returns.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher
Logan Webb allowed five hits and two earned runs over seven innings in his team's 2-1 road loss to the Minnesota Twins. The 28-year-old walked one and struck out nine, falling to 4-3 on the season. The lone blemish against Webb came in the bottom of the third inning when designated hitter
Trevor Larnach launched a two-run homer off him. He was excellent for the second straight start, but Twins pitcher
Joe Ryan was equally as good and able to out-duel him. The former fourth-round pick has been stellar thus far, letting up three or fewer runs in all but one of his nine starts. He'll bolster a strong 2.60 ERA and 1.16 WHIP (65:14 K:BB) into his next start against the Athletics at home.

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher
Corbin Burnes struck out five batters over seven scoreless innings in Saturday's 3-0 home win against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The righty allowed five hits and issued two free passes while landing 58 of 91 pitches for strikes (12 whiffs) in his return to the rotation. Burnes had dealt with shoulder inflammation that caused Arizona to skip his last turn, but a cortisone injection had him feeling much better. While the California native has done a good job of limiting damage against him this season (2.95 ERA), he hasn't nearly pitched up to the level that we've come to expect. Burnes is sporting career-highs in hard-hit percentage (50.5%) and average exit velocity (91.0 MPH) while affording batters a .275 xBA thus far. It's encouraging that he pitched well against the Dodgers, but a 5.34 xERA is a cause for concern (4.39 xFIP).

New York Yankees designated hitter
Aaron Judge went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in his team's 11-7 loss to the Athletics. The fantasy stalwart's power binge continued on Saturday, as he launched long balls No. 13 and No. 14 on the season. Though he's slowed down in recent days, Judge is on an absolute tear at the dish. After hitting just one HR from Apr. 5 to Apr. 26, the 33-year-old has crushed an astonishing seven no-doubters in his last 12 appearances. He's come back to Earth slightly, hitting "only" .396 with a ludicrous 1.258 OPS. In 39 games this season, the superstar slugger has put together a multi-hit performance in 18 of them (60%). At this point, the superlatives to describe his excellence are running thin.

Shea Langeliers went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 11-7 win over the New York Yankees. The Portland, Oregon, native singled twice and doubled in the contest to record his second four-hit performance of the season. With the A's trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Langeliers stepped up to the plate and launched a
Fernando Cruz splitter 418 feet to dead-center field to regain the lead. Then, in the eighth, he doubled in two more runs (108 MPH exit velocity) to bring his season total to 22. The 27-year-old is up to eight dingers on the season now, to go along with a .248 average (32-for-129), five doubles, and 17 runs scored. Langeliers has drastically cut his strikeout rate in 2025 (15.2%) with only a slight dip in average exit velocity. However, he's registered the hardest-hit ball of his career in the early going (114.5 MPH).

Texas Rangers shortstop
Corey Seager went 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs in his team's 10-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. The former first-round pick drove in three runs and also scored twice. He had missed the last two games with a mild hamstring injury but didn't appear to be hampered by it, blasting his fifth and sixth long balls of the year. Each of the 31-year-old's hits exceeded 100 MPH in exit velocity, and it was the second multi-homer effort in 26 games for him. Seager has at least one hit in all but two of his last 14 appearances -- going back to before his stint on the IL. Over that stretch, he's batting a blistering .375 (21-for-56) with 11 runs scored, nine RBI, and seven extra-base hits (four doubles, three homers). If he can stay healthy, he should again be among the best shortstops in fantasy.

He struck out seven batters and walked none in the quality start, improving to 3-2 on the year. The San Francisco native was stellar in his eighth start, able to retire every batter he faced except
Heliot Ramos, who accounted for both hits (single, homer) against him. Otherwise, the 28-year-old was locked in and has now recorded three straight appearances allowing one or fewer earned runs and four straight with one or fewer free passes. He'll carry a sterling 2.74 ERA and 0.87 WHIP (46 innings) with an efficient 54:5 K:BB ratio into his next outing against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jacob deGrom had his swing-and-miss stuff going for him during Saturday's start against the Detroit Tigers. The right-hander gave up a solo home run to
Kerry Carpenter in the first inning, but settled down after that. He was taken deep once again in the fourth inning by
Riley Greene, but deGrom was able to limit the damage. He went five innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out 10 batters in the win. Over the last five starts, deGrom has allowed two earned runs or less in every outing. He'll take a 2.72 ERA into his next start against the Houston Astros.

Ranger Suarez bounced back nicely during Saturday's start against the Cleveland Guardians. Suarez was crushed for seven runs during his season debut, but looked much better on the mound in this one. The left-hander really had no issues in this one as he tossed seven shutout innings, allowing three hits, while striking out five batters in the win. His next start will come in a favorable spot with a matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Suarez will likely be a popular waiver wire addition after this one and is a good streaming choice for his next start.

Houston Astros second baseman
Jose Altuve (hamstring) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. It's unclear how Altuve suffered the hamstring issue as he was replaced by
Brendan Rodgers in the third inning. Altuve walked in his lone plate appearance and came around to score in the first inning. The expectation is that Altuve will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. There is a good chance he misses Sunday's game, but for now fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day. Rodgers will likely see more time at second base if Altuve does miss any time. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Sunday for another update on his status.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder
Oneil Cruz (back) made a late exit during Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Cruz appears to have tweaked his back during the ninth inning of this contest. As a result, Cruz was removed from the contest and replaced by
Matt Gorski in center field. Before exiting, Cruz was 0-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, and a run scored. The team is considering Cruz day-to-day with back tightness, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to miss much time. Gorski will likely see more time in center field if Cruz misses some action. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Sunday for an update on Cruz.
