Michael Kim Looking to Find Rhythm at TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Michael Kim has had a roller-coaster 2025 season, making 19 of 25 cuts and recording six top-25 finishes, but only one of which has been in his last 16 events. He'll look to turn things around at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he hasn't competed since 2018. Success at TPC Southwind requires sharpness off the tee, on approach, and with the putter. Kim ranks 44th in total strokes gained (plus-0.607 per round), 39th from tee to green (plus-0.555), and 27th on approach (plus-0.356). He's an average putter, ranking 89th (plus-0.052), and sits 107th in driving accuracy. Kim is strong in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that made up over 34% of all approach shots here last year, ranking in the 89th percentile. At just $6,700 on DraftKings, Kim is a bargain this week, but given his recent form, he might still be hard to trust.Devin Williams Takes Loss In Non-Save Situation Tuesday

Victor Hovland Eyeing Another Strong Finish at TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Since winning the Valspar Championship in March, Victor Hovland has continued to play solid golf, posting five top-25 finishes in nine events. He looks to build on this at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he has finished T20 or better in four of five trips, including a T2 last year. To sustain that success, Hovland will need to stay sharp off the tee, on approach, and with his putter. He ranks 24th in total strokes gained (plus-0.814 per round), 15th from tee to green (plus-0.928), second on approach (plus-0.966), and 61st in driving accuracy. His main weakness is putting, where he ranks just 125th, losing 0.114 strokes per round. Combining a strong season with excellent course history makes Hovland a strong play at $9,300 on DraftKings.Phil Maton Earns Save On Tuesday
Phil Maton picked up his third save of the season and his first with his new team in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Yankees. Maton came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff single but induced a ground-ball double play and ended the game with a strikeout. Robert Garcia (back) has seen the majority of save opportunities for the Rangers lately, but he exited last Saturday's game with back spasms and has not pitched since. Maton is one of several relievers who could see save opportunities in the interim, and no one player has held down the role of closer for long with the Rangers this season. He has pitched well, earning 21 holds with a 2.18 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP, and an 11.10 K/9 rate in 41 1/3 innings of work.Source: MLB.com
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Ben Griffin Brings High-Upside Value to TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Outside of missed cuts at the John Deere and The Open, Ben Griffin has been on fire with seven finishes of T14 or better in his last nine starts, including a win at the Charles Schwab. He'll look to keep rolling at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he's finished T50 and T24 in two previous trips. Success at TPC Southwind will require sharpness off the tee, on approach, and with the putter. Griffin ranks 11th in total strokes gained (plus-1.017 per round), 22nd from tee to green (plus-0.792), 31st on approach (plus-0.407), and 28th putting (plus-0.315). His accuracy off the tee ranks 95th, but he sits in just the 19th percentile in proximity from 100 to 150 yards, a range that accounted for over 34% of approach shots here last year. At $8,100 on DraftKings, Griffin offers high upside at a discounted price.Shea Langeliers Has Three-Homer Evening Tuesday
Shea Langeliers made history in Tuesday's 16-7 win over the Nationals. Batting leadoff for the first time in his career, Langeliers went 5-for-6 with a single, a double, and three solo home runs. The 27-year-old became the second catcher in Major League history to hit three HR in a game while batting leadoff. The former fantasy prospect has come into his own this season, slashing .272/.323/.545 with 22 HR, 48 RBI, and five stolen bases in 341 plate appearances. The Athletics have hit surprisingly well as a team, making Langeliers a solid fantasy option, regardless of where he hits in the lineup.Source: Martin Gallegos - MLB.com
Athletics catcher Orlando Arcia Exits Early Tuesday With Apparent Injury
Orlando Arcia (unknown) exited Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Blue Jays in the fifth inning with an apparent injury, per Denver Post's Patrick Saunders. Arcia hit a single in the fifth but then exited the game. He went 1-for-2. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for more information. The 31-year-old has had a poor offensive season between the Braves and the Rockies, slashing .182/.217/.273 with three home runs and eight RBI in 161 plate appearances.Source: Patrick Saunders - X.com
Colorado Rockies third baseman/shortstop Matt Fitzpatrick Staying Red-Hot Entering TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Matt Fitzpatrick continued his impressive run with a T8 finish at the Wyndham Championship, extending his top-10 streak to four straight events and five overall this season. He'll look to keep it rolling at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he's posted two top-18 finishes in his last three starts. To maintain that success, Fitzpatrick will need to stay sharp off the tee, on approach, and with his putter. He ranks 35th in total strokes gained at plus-0.681 per round, 79th on approach at plus-0.115, 33rd in putting at plus-0.276, and 59th in driving accuracy. The only blemish in his profile is proximity, where he ranks in just the 37th percentile from 100 to 150 yards, a range that accounted for over 34% of approach shots at TPC Southwind last year. Still, few players are in better form heading into the playoffs, and at $9,700 on DraftKings, Fitzpatrick remains a strong fantasy option.Thairo Estrada Exits Tuesday With Apparent Leg Injury
Thairo Estrada (leg) left Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Blue Jays in the sixth inning with an apparent leg injury. He landed on the first-base bag awkwardly while trying to beat out a double-play ball and exited after. He went 0-for-3 before exiting. The 29-year-old has had a run of bad injury luck this season, missing time already with a right wrist fracture and a sprained left thumb. He hasn't been able to get things clicking at the plate when he has been healthy, slashing .253/.285/.370 with three home runs, 21 RBI, and one stolen base in 165 plate appearances. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for more information on Wednesday.Source: Patrick Saunders - X.com
Colorado Rockies second baseman Joey Loperfido Exits Tuesday With Right-Knee Contusion
Joey Loperfido (knee) exited Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Rockies in the sixth inning with a right knee contusion. Loperfido was hit by a 98-MPH fastball in the knee and exited the game immediately. X-rays were negative, per MLB's Keegan Matheson, but fantasy managers should wait for further updates in the coming days. The 26-year-old went 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout before being replaced by Myles Straw. Hopefully, he won't have to miss too much time, as Loperfido has been crushing the baseball with a .389/.436/.542 slash line since getting called up at the beginning of July.Source: Keegan Matheson - X.com
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Patrick Cantlay Eyeing Another Strong Finish at TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Patrick Cantlay has put together one of the most consistent seasons on tour, missing only three cuts, all of which came in majors, and never finishing worse than T36 in any event where he made the cut. He'll look to keep that momentum going at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he has six top-12 finishes in eight previous appearances. To continue that success, Cantlay will need to stay sharp off the tee, on approach, and with his putter. He ranks 10th in total strokes gained at plus-1.122 per round, 11th in strokes gained from tee to green at plus-1.028, and 13th on approach at plus-0.598. He's also 83rd in putting (plus-0.093) and 92nd in driving accuracy. Given his strong form this season and impressive course history, Cantlay is well worth the $9,000 price tag on DraftKings this week.Ludvig Aberg Needs a Complete Week at TPC Southwind
Source: PGA Tour
Since winning the Genesis in February, Ludvig Aberg has been inconsistent, posting four missed cuts alongside four top-20 finishes over that stretch. He enters the FedEx St. Jude Championship coming off back-to-back results of T23 or better and will look to keep the momentum going. Aberg finished T40 here last year, and to improve on that, he'll need to be sharp off the tee, on approach, and with his putter. He ranks 68th in total strokes gained at plus-0.372 per round, 49th from tee to green, and 76th on approach, but loses 0.033 strokes per round putting, which places him 100th in that category. He also sits at 111th in driving accuracy. While Aberg brings massive upside every time he tees it up, something has felt off this year. At $9,500 on DraftKings, fantasy managers will need to bank on four steady rounds in this no-cut event.Nolan McLean Allows Only One Hit in Dominant Outing
Nolan McLean had a pristine outing on Tuesday against Triple-A Charlotte, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out seven across 5 2/3 scoreless innings. McLean has been outstanding all season at Triple-A Syracuse and has been even better of late. Since allowing a season-high six runs in his shortest outing on July 28, he's bounced back with just four runs allowed over 19 innings across three starts, posting a 19:6 K:BB. The right-hander is one of the top pitching prospects in the Mets system and could be called upon at some point if injuries hit in the Mets' rotation.Source: MiLB.com
New York Mets pitching prospect Bubba Chandler Has Mixed Results in Tuesday's Outing
Bubba Chandler allowed three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out seven against Triple-A Omaha. Chandler's swing and miss stuff was on display in this start, generating 17 swings and misses on 48 swings. His high 90s fastball did most of the work with 11 whiffs, with each of his secondary offerings producing at least one. However, the eight hits allowed tied a season high. It wasn't a ton of loud contact with an 88.2 mph average exit velocity, but it limited his efficiency. Positively, he continues to stretch out and reached 91 pitches in the outing. For the season, the top prospect holds a 3.69 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 113:46 K:BB ratio in 92.2 innings. His MLB debut should be expected to come relatively soon, and he'd be viewed as a priority add in standard leagues.Source: MiLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Samuel Basallo Belts 22nd Homer
Samuel Basallo went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI in Tuesday's 12-1 blowout win against Triple-A Rochester. Basallo did damage at the plate all night and has continued his dominant season. The 20-year-old is hitting a ridiculous .278/.386/.612 in 293 plate appearances with Triple-A Norfolk. The quality of contact is absurd for a player of his age playing at Triple-A, with a 55.7% hard hit rate, 20.6% barrel rate, and a 115.9 mph MaxEV. He's paired it with the ability to make contact at an above-average rate and display good swing decisions. The sky is the limit for Basallo, who should be making his MLB debut anytime now. Orioles general manager Mike Elias has expressed his desire to get the stud prospect exposure to big league pitching, and he is a priority stash in standard fantasy leagues.Source: MiLB.com

Joe Jimenez Shut Down From Throwing, Return Timeline Uncertain
Joe Jimenez (knee) has been shut down from throwing after experiencing discomfort in his surgically repaired left knee during his rehab in Florida. Jimenez has spent the entire 2025 season on the 60-day injured list following offseason knee surgery to remove some loose cartilage. There is no set timeline for his return, as the Braves are waiting for the issue to settle before reassessing. The 30-year-old reliever was a key bullpen piece in 2024, posting a 2.62 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 82 strikeouts across 68 2/3 innings in his second year with Atlanta.Source: Grant McAuley
Atlanta Braves right-hander Shane Bieber Set for Rehab Start Saturday, Blue Jays Debut Drawing Closer
Shane Bieber (elbow) is scheduled to make another rehab start this Saturday, with likely one more to follow before manager John Schneider considers a call-up. Bieber was acquired at the trade deadline from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for right-hander Khal Stephen. The 30-year-old has not pitched since April 2024 after undergoing Tommy John surgery and is expected to make a return in late-August. Bieber spent six and a half seasons with Cleveland and owns a career 3.22 ERA with 958 strikeouts across 843 innings. He won the American League Cy Young Award in 2020 and could be an elite late-season addition.Source: Keegan Matheson
Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Reese Olson Receives PRP Injection
Reese Olson (shoulder) has already been ruled out to return to the mound this year. Olson will not require surgery for his right shoulder strain, but was given a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection for his shoulder. A PRP injection involves using the player's blood, spinning it down, and reinjecting the "good stuff" back into the affected joint in hopes of speeding up healing time. If this works, surgery will remain off the table for the 26-year-old. He did pitch well in his 13 starts this season, going (4-4) with 65 strikeouts in 68 innings to the tune of an ERA of 3.15 and WHIP of 1.21. Olson looks to be healthy going into spring training in 2026 and is ready to build off of this year.Source: Evan Petzold
Detroit Tigers right-hander Kevin Ginkel Seeks Second Opinion, Season in Jeopardy After Shoulder Injury
Kevin Ginkel (shoulder) is seeking a second opinion on his right shoulder sprain, raising concerns that he could miss the rest of the season. Ginkel was placed on the 15-day injured list on August 4 and has not set a timeline for his return. The 31-year-old has struggled in his seventh MLB season, posting a 7.36 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP across 25 2/3 innings. He was 3-for-4 in save opportunities and recorded six holds before the injury stalled his 2025 campaign. His loss would weaken a pitching staff that already ranks 25th in the league with a 4.55 ERA.Source: Alex Weiner
Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Parker Meadows Begins Running Progression
Parker Meadows (quad) has begun a running progression in his rehab from a right quad strain. The Tigers placed Meadows on the IL on July 28, and it is a good sign for him to be running already. The 25-year-old missed time earlier in the year with a nerve issue in his throwing arm and has been limited to 38 games this season. He is slashing .200/.270/296, with only two home runs and three stolen bases. Fantasy managers in deep leagues can continue to stash Meadows as he will likely return sometime in August. Matt Vierling has been starting in centerfield for the Tigers and should continue to see an uptick in at-bats with Meadows sidelined.Source: Cody Stavenhagen
Detroit Tigers outfielder Jaydon Blue Likely to Have a Role on Third Down
Jaydon Blue will "likely have a role on third down" this year, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Blue has been one of the most impressive offensive players at training camp this summer for the Cowboys. However, Javonte Williams is finally healthy and is "showing why Denver was so high on him after drafting him in 2021." Additionally, Miles Sanders has looked good, so the expectation is that Williams and Sanders will dominate early-down carries for Dallas, at least early in the 2025 campaign. Fantasy managers in 12-team leagues may not be drafting Blue this fall, but the 21-year-old should be on watch lists, especially in PPR formats. The fifth-rounder has displayed elite speed and pass-catching ability out of the backfield, which has earned him some time with first-team offense in camp.Source: Sports Illustrated - Albert Breer
Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Reynaldo Lopez Still in Early Rehab Stages
Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) has recently resumed playing catch and remains without a timeline for a return. Lopez had arthroscopic surgery for his throwing shoulder on April 1 and was cleared to start throwing again after the All-Star break. He is still in the early stages of his rehab program. If Lopez does not begin throwing off a mound within the next two weeks or so, there may not be enough time left in the season for Lopez to return as a starter. There is a chance he could pitch out of the bullpen in September in lieu of part of his rehab assignment. Otherwise, it will be a lost season for Lopez, who converted from a reliever to a starter last season.Source: David O'Brien
Atlanta Braves right-hander George Pickens Being Moved Around
George Pickens in head coach Brian Schottenheimer's offense that the coaches have been able to "move him around to different receiver spots after he was exclusively an X receiver (split end) in Pittsburgh." Pickens and CeeDee Lamb worked out together in Florida in the offseason, and new receivers coach Junior Adams "has had the two working off each other constantly to try and build culture in his room." Things didn't end well for Pickens with the Steelers, but the early signs going into his first year in Dallas are "pretty good." The 24-year-old former second-rounder has had at least 801 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons. He's going to take a back seat to Lamb in this offense, but in what should be a pass-happy scheme, Pickens has lots of upside as a WR3/flex in fantasy in his new home.Source: Sports Illustrated - Albert Breer
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated writes that it's a good sign of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Gabriel Moreno Begins Tee Work, Nearing Return to Diamondbacks
Gabriel Moreno (hand) has resumed swinging a bat and has started tee work after an August 4 CT scan confirmed his right hand had fully healed. Moreno landed on the injured list on June 19 and was transferred to the 60-day IL on July 18 after suffering a hairline fracture in his right hand from a foul tip on June 6. He is expected to make a return in mid-August. The 25-year-old was slashing a productive .270/.324/.414 with a .738 OPS over 53 games prior to the injury. His return would provide a much-needed boost to a Diamondbacks team losing postseason hopes in the NL West.Source: Alex Weiner
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Spencer Schwellenbach Likely Done for the Year
Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow) is on the 60-day injured list with a fracture in his pitching elbow. Braves manager Brian Snitker said Monday that Schwellenbach has not yet to resume throwing and appears unlikely to pitch again in 2025. There is no official timeline for his return, and he will need an extended build-up program to get back on the mound this year for the Braves. With Atlanta out of the playoff picture, the Braves do not need to push Schwellenbach back this year. If his season is over, Schwellenbach will finish the year with a (7-4) record, 3.09 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, while averaging close to a strikeout per inning.Source: David O'Brien
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Tyler O'Neill Exits With Right-Wrist Discomfort
Tyler O'Neill (wrist) exited Tuesday's game against the Phillies in the bottom of the sixth inning with right-wrist discomfort. He was replaced in right field by 29-year-old Ryan Noda. O'Neill went 0-for-2 with a popout and a groundout before leaving. The 29-year-old slugger from Canada is slashing .210/.293/.434 with eight home runs through 43 games. He has struggled to stay in the lineup consistently, and with his health once again in question, the Orioles will be without one of their top right-handed power threats for at least the near future. UPDATE: O'Neill said X-rays came back negative on his wrist after he jammed it on the wall. He taped up his wrist and had another at-bat before eventually being pulled from Tuesday's game. O'Neill will see how he feels on Wednesday.Source: Jake Rill
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Bryce Miller Set for Rehab Start on Thursday
Bryce Miller (elbow) is set for his second rehab outing in Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday and should throw around 65 pitches. He threw 52 pitches in his last rehab start and continues to build up his workload. If all goes well, Miller could be activated as early as August 12th for his first in the majors since June. The 26-year-old has been on the injured list with elbow inflammation and looks to turn things around after posting a 1.54 WHIP before landing on the IL. Miller has had control issues this year, evidenced by his 4.25 BB:9 in 2025, compared to 2.25 last year. Even though his ERA for this year stands at 5.73, he has been a tad unlucky with a BABIP of .322, which is above league average. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Miller, who is likely to return to Seattle's rotation in mid-August.Source: Daniel Kramer
Seattle Mariners' right-hander KaVontae Turpin to Take on Bigger Offensive Role
KaVontae Turpin has mostly made his mark as a return man. However, the 29-year-old will "be more involved in the offense this year than at any other time over the last three seasons," according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer, previously the team's offensive coordinator, is looking to utilize Turpin more as both a receiver and a runner. The 5-foot-9, 153-pounder set career highs in catches (31), targets (52), and yards (420) last season. He also added two receiving touchdowns and carried the ball 16 times for 92 yards. Those aren't exciting numbers, but the Cowboys believe the speedster has the explosiveness to take on a bigger role.Source: Jon Machota - The Athletic
