Max Muncy Activated and Starting on Monday
Max Muncy (knee) from the 10-day injured list on Monday and placed infielder Tommy Edman (ankle) on the 10-day IL in a corresponding move with a right-ankle sprain, according to David Vassegh. Muncy is starting at third base and is batting fifth in Monday's series opener against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Sonny Gray. The 34-year-old Muncy will be playing in his first big-league game since he suffered a serious left-knee bruise on July 2. He could be eased in by L.A., but there's no doubt he'll return to being the primary option at third base for the reigning World Series champions. Muncy brings plenty of RBI potential in the heart of one of the best lineups in baseball. He's returning to a .250/.375/.457 line with an .832 OPS, 13 homers, 55 RBI, 39 runs and four steals. He's hit .077 with a solo homer in 13 career at-bats versus Gray.
