NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (shoulder, knee) fractured his collarbone during Saturday's practice. Rapoport notes that the wideout will undergo further testing, but will miss "the start of the season at least." He sustained the injury while making a diving grab up the sidelines. It's a massive blow to Burks, who was still recovering from a torn ACL he picked up a season ago. The door seems to be left open for him to come back at some point in 2025, but it's undoubtedly a detriment that he'll miss this critical rapport-building period in camp with rookie quarterback Cam Ward. As of now, veteran Van Jefferson figures to play in three-wide receiver sets primarily. That could change over the next few weeks if one of the rookie wideouts, Elic Ayomanor or Chimere Dike, makes a push for the starting offense.--Alex CiullaSource: Ian Rapoport

Kansas City Royals right-hander Michael Lorenzen (oblique) has begun playing catch as he works back from a strained left oblique, but he hasn't thrown a bullpen session yet. Lorenzen went on the 15-day injured list on July 11 and is now eligible to return, though it'll be a little longer until that happens. Over 18 starts this season, the 33-year-old has gone 5-8 with a 4.61 ERA (up from 3.31 in 2024), a 1.30 WHIP, and 85:29 K:BB in 99 2/3 innings.--Connor ByrneSource: MLB.com

Injured Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews (oblique) is participating in all baseball activities without any issues, but the team isn't ready to send him on a rehab assignment yet, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Washington is taking a careful approach with the 23-year-old, who went on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique on May 20. The Nats have since transferred him to the 60-day IL, though Crews is now eligible for activation at any time. Whenever he comes back this year, the former second overall pick (2023) will try to improve on a disappointing start to 2025. Crews hit just .196/.266/.354 with seven homers, 15 RBI, 24 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases in 173 plate appearances before he went on the IL.--Connor ByrneSource: Mark Zuckerman

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola (ankle, rib) will start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on July 31. The plan is for Nola to throw 60 pitches in that game, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports. It should be the first of three or four rehab starts for Nola, who has been out for over two months with multiple injuries. He originally went to the 15-day IL on May 15 with a sprained ankle before succumbing to a stress fracture in his right rib. Nola made nine starts earlier in the year and went a disastrous 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA over 49 2/3 innings. The former All-Star, 32, will have a chance to rebound as part of the Phillies' rotation if he gets through his rehab assignment without any setbacks.--Connor ByrneSource: Charlotte Varnes - The Athletic

Minnesota Vikings Safety Josh Metellus and the Vikings reached an agreement Saturday on a three-year, $36 million contract extension with a max value of $42 million that includes $25 million guaranteed, per agent Drew Rosenhaus. Metellus has demonstrated considerable versatility in the Brian Flores 3-4 defense over the past few seasons, lining up at free safety, in the box, in the slot, and even as an edge defender. In 2024, Metellus recorded 103 tackles (63 solo), recorded five pass breakups, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. He will continue to play alongside six-time Pro Bowler Harrison Smith and try to help the Vikings compete in what could be the best division in the NFL in 2025, the NFC North.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Adam Schefter

The Arizona Diamondbacks have designated right-hander Trevor Richards for assignment, the team announced. His roster spot is going to left-handed reliever Brandyn Garcia, who's up from Triple-A Reno to make his Arizona debut. Richards began the year with the Kansas City Royals and signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks after KC cut him loose last month. The 32-year-old has struggled over a total of five appearances in the majors this season. Richards has allowed five earned runs on a whopping 11 hits with five strikeouts and two walks in 5 2/3 innings. The journeyman has appeared in the bigs with seven different teams since debuting in 2018 and put up a 4.53 ERA across 565 2/3 frames.--Connor ByrneSource: Arizona Diamondbacks

The Detroit Tigers have activated ace Tarik Skubal from the paternity list for a start against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. The superstar southpaw will try to halt a five-game losing streak for the first-place Tigers. The team has stunningly dropped 11 of 12 in a skid that began before the All-Star break, though it still leads the AL Central by a comfortable 7 1/2 games. Skubal will face a tough test against a Toronto team that owns the majors' top record (62-42), but he's a must-start no matter what. The reigning AL Cy Young winner has dazzled again this season over 20 starts and 127 2/3 innings. He's 10-3 with a 2.19 ERA, a league-best 0.81 WHIP, and 164 strikeouts against 16 walks.--Connor ByrneSource: Chris McCosky - Detroit News

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that they have recalled left-handed reliever Brandyn Garcia from Triple-A Reno and designated right-hander Trevor Richards for assignment. Garcia, 25, is in line to debut with the Diamondbacks just two days after coming over in a trade that sent first baseman Josh Naylor to the Seattle Mariners. He made his first two major league appearances with the Mariners earlier this month and yielded two runs (one earned) on four hits with three walks against one strikeout over two innings. Garcia has fared well at two levels in the minors this year, having combined for a 3.51 ERA with 11.34 K/9 and 4.59 BB/9 in 33 1/3 frames between Double-A and Triple-A. MLB Pipeline ranks Garcia as the Diamondbacks' 16th-best prospect and notes that his sinker-sweeper combination should make him a viable reliever in the majors.--Connor ByrneSource: Arizona Diamondbacks

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (shoulder/knee) exited Saturday's practice after making a great diving catch up the right side against Jarvis Brownlee. But he lands out of bounds. Relief that he bounced right up. But then he's holding his left clavicle, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports. At this point, the severity of Burks' injury is unclear; however, as things currently stand, if Burks were to miss any additional time, Tyler Lockett would be the top pass-catching option for Cam Ward, with Van Jefferson and Chimere Dike seeing an increase in reps and targets while Burks remains sidelined. Burks had his 2024 campaign cut short due to a torn ACL, so getting injured early on in camp is a tough break for the former 2022 first-round pick out of Arkansas. Fantasy managers should keep tabs on any updates to the severity of his injury in the coming days.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Paul Kuharsky

New York Mets designated hitter/outfielder Starling Marte has drawn trade interest leading up to the July 31 deadline, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. There's no word on whether the Mets are interested in giving up Marte, who leads the team with 50 appearances at DH this season. The 36-year-old is now in a timeshare at the position with Mark Vientos. Set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Marte has batted an effective .275/.356/.395 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored, and five stolen bases in 192 plate appearances.--Connor ByrneSource: Mike Puma

The Athletic's Zac Jackson reports that Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (undisclosed) remains sidelined at training camp on Saturday. The Browns are giving the players a day off on Sunday before practicing in pads for the first time on Monday. Ford is reportedly dealing with a minor undisclosed injury, but it remains to be seen if he'll return to the field on Monday. All indications are that the 25-year-old will be back soon. Ford's status is even more important because rookie second-rounder Quinshon Judkins remains unsigned as he deals with domestic-violence charges that could lead to a suspension to begin his NFL career. With Judkins' status up in the air, Ford and rookie Dylan Sampson both are more intriguing for fantasy purposes, although Judkins could still end up being Cleveland's lead back by the end of 2025.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Zac Jackson

The Philadelphia 76ers waived guard Ricky Council IV. He spent the last two seasons with the Sixers, appearing in 105 regular-season contests. While the 23-year-old wasn't productive for the most part, he showed signs of promise by averaging 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 12 starts last season. There's a good chance Council will get signed by another team entering the 2025 campaign. However, he has a long way to go before earning a spot on most fantasy rosters, although he could gain streaming potential at some point during the year.--Dennis ClausenSource: Gina Mizell

New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams has been the team's top X receiver during an early walkthrough period at training camp on Saturday, according to Taylor Kyles. Williams, who was taken with the 69th overall pick in the third round of this year's NFL draft, is a burner that could become an interesting downfield threat for second-year quarterback Drake Maye in 2025. The 22-year-old was very productive as a big-play threat at both UNLV and Washington State in college, and he makes up for his lack of size (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) with his speed. New England also added veteran Stefon Diggs in free agency this offseason, but Williams has a leg up as the primary deep threat with no other receiver on the roster really threatening him for that role. He's worth a flier late in drafts in deeper leagues for his big-play potential.--Keith HernandezSource: Taylor Kyles

Mike Kadlick of SI.com writes that New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson is going to have quite the impact on the team's passing game and is always open in the early portion of training camp. What Henderson lacks in size (5-foot-10, 202 pounds) and power, he makes up for with speed (4.43-second 40-yard dash) and his pass-catching chops. The Pats still have Rhamondre Stevenson around as the primary between-the-tackles option, but the 22-year-old Henderson should be plenty involved as well in his first NFL season after being taken with the 38th overall pick in the second round in April. New England also has veteran Antonio Gibson in the fold, but Henderson could be the primary pass-catching back right away and could lead the backfield in touches in 2025 when it's all said and done. RotoBaller has him ranked as the RB23 in fantasy.--Keith HernandezSource: SI.com - Mike Kadlick

According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors "haven't gained any traction" regarding a sign-and-trade deal involving forward Jonathan Kuminga. The 22-year-old has spent his entire career with the Dubs, averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 258 regular-season games. He is currently a restricted free agent. However, with most teams unable to make moves due to limited cap space, the situation remains at a standstill. Without question, Kuminga has value, but clubs around the National Basketball Association may wait before looking in his direction, especially if he becomes an unrestricted free agent next offseason. If he stays in Golden State, he may have trouble finding consistent minutes. On the other hand, Kuminga could benefit significantly by getting a fresh start elsewhere. With that in mind, his fantasy outlook can go in different directions depending on where he ends up entering the 2025 campaign, although his shooting numbers must improve no matter where he goes.--Dennis ClausenSource: Fred Katz

The New York Yankees have distanced themselves from a potential trade for Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez and are now focused more on names like St. Louis Cardinals infielder Brendan Donovan, Minnesota Twins utility man Willi Castro and Los Angeles Angels third baseman Yoan Moncada, according to sources. The Yankees pulled off a trade to acquire Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies to fill their void at third base on Thursday, so it makes sense as to why they have backed off from Suarez in favor of players that can play multiple positions elsewhere on the diamond. Suarez is still fully expected to be dealt by the July 31 trade deadline, but it doesn't look like he'll be headed to the Bronx. He's having one of the best years of his career and is tied for fourth in homers (36) while leading the league with 87 RBI.--Keith HernandezSource: Francys Romero

Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon (calf) threw a 47-pitch bullpen session on Friday, according to Taylor McGregor of Watch Marquee. Taillon last pitched or the Cubs on June 29 and was expected to miss around a month with his calf injury. We're coming up on a month, and the 33-year-old veteran is close to being fully stretched out, so he may not require a minor-league rehab start before rejoining the Cubs' starting rotation. If that's the case, the former first-rounder (second overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2010 won't be a recommended streamer in his first game back in the big leagues. Before his injury, Taillon had been up and down with limited strikeout upside for fantasy managers, going 7-6 with a 4.44 ERA (5.17 FIP) and 1.11 WHIP with 74 K's and 20 walks in 95 1/3 innings over 17 starts. His diminished velocity continues to be a cause for concern.--Keith HernandezSource: Watch Marquee - Taylor McGregor

Houston Astros right-hander Luis Garcia (elbow) will make a minor-league rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic. Garcia will be making his fourth rehab start after two outings in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and one with Single-A Fayetteville. The 28-year-old was sharp in his last outing, throwing two perfect innings while striking out two. Garcia will now take a step up in competition and will hopefully go a bit deeper after going exactly two innings in each of his first three rehab appearances. The Astros are taking it slow with Garcia, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery that he had in May of 2023. The Venezuelan hurler has a decent 3.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in his four big-league seasons, but he probably won't be a rotation option for the 'Stros until around at least mid-August.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Chandler Rome

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos (knee) jammed his left knee while approaching the outfield wall on the last play of Friday's series opener in the Bronx against the New York Yankees, according to manager Rob Thomson. Castellanos is sore, so the Phillies elected to hold him out of Saturday's lineup. They will check to see how he's feeling on Sunday and have labeled him as day-to-day. Max Kepler is starting in right field and will bat sixth against Yankees right-hander Marcus Stroman. This is certainly something that could end up sending Castellanos to the injured list if he's unable to get back on the field soon. The 33-year-old is in the midst of a modest four-game hitting streak and has hit a solid .270 (106-for-392) on the year with 13 homers and 56 RBI. Kepler has hit just .133 with two RBI in 15 career at-bats versus Stroman.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Charlotte Varnes

Chicago Cubs reliever Porter Hodge (shoulder) will make a rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, according to Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network and MLB.com. This will be Hodge's first rehab outing since going on the 15-day injured list in early July with a right shoulder impingement. The 24-year-old right-hander has been sidelined by multiple injuries this season, limiting him to just 23 2/3 big-league innings. In those innings, he's logged a 6.85 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 25 strikeouts and two saves. Hodge earned nine saves for Chicago in 2024 and could rejoin the late-inning mix if he returns to form down the stretch. However, the Cubs have gotten great work from Daniel Palencia since inserting him into the closer role mid-season and have also been connected to multiple high-profile relief options on the trade market.--Will BradySource: Marquee Sports Network - Taylor McGregor

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (elbow) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game in the Bronx against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies. Judge had difficulty throwing the ball during the series opener against the Phillies on Friday, so the Yankees will hold the 33-year-old reigning American League MVP out on Saturday while also sending him for imaging. Cody Bellinger is starting in right field and will bat third against Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez. Fantasy managers will want to check back for the results of Judge's imaging for a clearer idea of how much time he could miss. For now, we'll consider him day-to-day, but it would obviously be a crippling blow for the Yanks and fantasy managers to lose an elite player like Judge for an extended period of time. In the lefty-lefty matchup, Bellinger has three hits in 10 career at-bats and two RBI against Suarez.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

The Seattle Mariners are making utility man Dylan Moore available in trade discussions, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The 32-year-old Moore's main appeal is his versatility, as he's appeared at every non-pitching position other than left field and catcher for Seattle this season. In 197 plate appearances in 2025, Moore is hitting .201/.264/.374 with nine home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases. Swing and miss is a major issue, as he's logged a 34% strikeout rate this year. However, Moore has been significantly better throughout his career when playing outside of Seattle. In 834 career plate appearances on the road, he's posted a .754 OPS and 26.9% strikeout rate, compared to a .629 OPS and 33.9% strikeout rate in 779 career plate appearances at home. Those splits could be enough for another team to take a chance on Moore.--Will BradySource: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal

The Athletic's Jon Machota writes that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and new wide receiver George Pickens "still have some work to together." Although Prescott doesn't have any concerns, his timing has been off with Pickens on some routes, and most of their connections have been on short and intermediate routes early on in training camp. "For him, it's just about continuing to master the offense, the routes and the adjustments on certain routes. When he does that, the rest of it is going to come," Prescott said. It's something to keep track of as camp progresses, but right now, fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned as Prescott and Pickens work on their chemistry. CeeDee Lamb will take plenty of targets away from the 24-year-old, but if he can excel deep down the field, Pickens will have plenty of value in fantasy as a WR3/flex in his new home in Dallas.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Jon Machota
