Raisel Iglesias Drawing Interest From Cubs
Raisel Iglesias is among the relievers "under consideration" for the Chicago Cubs as Thursday's trade deadline nears, Patrick Mooney and Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic report. With the Braves out of contention and Iglesias due to become a free agent at the end of the season, he's a logical candidate to go to a contender in the next few days. The 35-year-old has been a shutdown option for a large portion of his career, but he has blown five of 16 save chances this season while managing an unappealing 5.06 ERA over 40 2/3 innings this season. Iglesias still boasts an impressive 46:10 K:BB with a solid 1.23 WHIP, though, and has at least been less shaky in the past month and a half. He'd presumably serve as a setup option in Chicago, which has received great production from closer Daniel Palencia.Source: Patrick Mooney, Sahadev Sharma - The Athletic
Atlanta Braves closer Troy Melton to Start Monday
Troy Melton will start at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. The 24-year-old had been scheduled to take the ball Tuesday, but his turn is moving up with Casey Mize (knee) dealing with minor knee tightness. Melton struggled in his major league debut on July 23, as he allowed six earned runs on seven hits (two homers) and two walks over five innings in a 6-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. On the positive side, Melton fanned seven - including five in his final two innings - while averaging 97 mph on his fastball and generating 14 whiffs. For now, he's taking over for righty Keider Montero in Detroit's rotation. The club optioned Montero to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday after he went 4-3 with a 4.66 ERA, a 1.43 WHIP, and 53:25 over 73 1/3 frames (15 appearances, nine starts).Source: Daniella Bruce

Emmanuel Clase Drawing Trade Interest, Guardians Unlikely to Deal
Emmanuel Clase is reportedly drawing heavy interest ahead of the trade deadline, but a move appears unlikely. The Guardians would need to be "blown away" by an offer to consider parting with the flamethrowing right-hander. Clase has anchored Cleveland's bullpen for five seasons and continues to dominate late innings. The 27-year-old owns a 3.23 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 24 saves in 29 chances this season. He averages 98.3 mph with his fastball/cutter and pairs it with a sharp slider, making him one of the most coveted relievers on the market.Source: Ari Alexander
Cleveland Guardians closer Drew Sanders to Miss Regular Season Time with Foot Injury
Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport
Denver Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders (foot) has suffered a tendon injury in his foot and will require further testing to determine his recovery timeline, according to Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reports that Sanders is "not expected back before the season begins" and will be out "an extended period of time." It's ominous news for Sanders, who was limited to just four games last season due to an Achilles tear he suffered last April. The 24-year-old was expected to play a key role in Denver's defense this season, but it appears the team will have to make do without him for at least the start of the regular season. The Broncos now have Alex Singleton and free-agent addition Dre Greenlaw penciled in as starters at off-ball linebacker, with Justin Strnad in place as a key reserve.Grant Holmes Placed on 60-Day IL
Grant Holmes (elbow) on the 60-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Holmes reported tightness following his start against the Rangers on Saturday, where he allowed four runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over four innings. Now in his second year with Atlanta, Holmes owns a 3.99 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 22 appearances. The 29-year-old has seen a sharp increase in his walk rate, jumping from 1.98 to 4.23 per nine innings. That trend may help explain his inconsistency at the major league level.Source: Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves have placed right-hander Deuce Vaughn Dealing with Hamstring Injury
Deuce Vaughn (hamstring) missed the team's practice on Sunday with a left hamstring injury, according to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News. Vaughn missed time with a similar injury in 2024, but Watkins relays that the current hamstring ailment is not considered to be as serious. The 23-year-old Vaughn was drafted by the Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2023 draft and has yet to make a significant NFL impact. In 14 career games. Vaughn has recorded 40 carries for 110 yards. There could be an opportunity for him to earn playing time in Dallas this season if he can get back to full strength. The Cowboys have veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders competing with Vaughn and rookie Jaydon Blue for snaps in the backfield.Source: The Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins
Dallas Cowboys running back Minkah Fitzpatrick Agrees to Revised Contract with Dolphins
Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-rounder. Fitzpatrick actually began his career in Miami, but he's spent most of the last six seasons with Pittsburgh and has been named a first-team All-Pro three times. The 28-year-old has recorded 400 solo tackles and 20 interceptions in his career and will be expected to anchor the Dolphins' secondary in 2025.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
The Miami Dolphins have added a $16.2 million signing bonus to the contract of recently-acquired safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Fitzpatrick's contract had no guaranteed money left on it before the revision, and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter that he is still discussing a new long-term deal with the team. Miami acquired Fitzpatrick from the Pittsburgh Steelers along with a 2027 fifth-round pick in late June in exchange for defensive back Jalen Ramsey, tight end Jack Kochanowicz Set for Monday Start, Looks to Build on Triple-A Success
Jack Kochanowicz is scheduled to start the series opener against the Rangers on Monday. Kochanowicz was optioned to Triple-A on July 11 and made one strong start, allowing no earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts over five innings. The 24-year-old has struggled in the majors this season, posting a 6.03 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, and 3-9 record in 19 appearances. This is his second year with the Angels, and he will try to carry momentum from his recent Triple-A outing into a more effective showing on Monday.Source: Jeff Fletcher
Los Angeles Angels right-hander Brian Burns Returns to Giants Practice on Sunday
Wan'Dale Robinson led to both players leaving practice on Friday. Giants coach Brian Daboll said that Burns' snaps in practice could be limited as a precaution, but that he had not suffered any structural injuries. The two-time Pro-Bowler has been extremely durable in his career, suiting up in at least 15 games in each of his six NFL seasons. In his first year with the Giants in 2024, Burns played 17 games, recording 8.5 sacks and 17 TFLs. New York has some depth at edge rusher after using a first-round pick on Abdul Carter in the 2025 draft, but Burns is still a key piece of their defensive identity.Source: New York Giants
New York Giants edge rusher Brian Burns (general soreness) returned to the practice field on Sunday after a collision with wide receiver Shohei Ohtani to Stretch Out to Four Innings in Next Starts
Shohei Ohtani is reportedly aiming to reach four innings in his next few starts as he continues to build up his workload. The 31-year-old has yet to surpass three innings this season as he works his way back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career. Ohtani has been sharp in limited action, posting a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 12 innings. If he continues trending upward on the mound while maintaining his elite .998 OPS at the plate, the 2025 NL MVP race could quickly shift back in his favor as the season heats up.Source: Bill Plunkett
Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Joey Bosa Feeling "Great" Early in Camp
Source: USA Today - Nick Wojton
Buffalo Bills defensive end Joey Bosa (calf) said he feels "great" and gives himself a clean bill of health for Bills training camp, according to Nick Wojton of USA Today. Bosa missed the team's minicamp and OTAs with a calf injury, but he practiced in full earlier this week. The 29-year-old signed a one-year deal worth over $12 million with Buffalo this past offseason after spending the first nine years of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He's a five-time Pro-Bowler who has recorded 72 career sacks and 156 QB hits. However, injuries have been a consistent issue for Bosa, especially in recent years. He played 14 games in 2024, but just 14 combined from 2022-23. The Bills are sure to manage his workload in the preseason and maybe even early in the regular season in the hopes he can be on the field for a potential Super Bowl push.Casey Mize Set to Start Despite Knee Tightness, Eyes Bounce-Back Outing
Casey Mize (knee) is still expected to start in the upcoming home series against the Diamondbacks, despite dealing with minor knee tightness that has disrupted his usual between-start routine. The 28-year-old struggled in his last outing against the Pirates, allowing 10 hits and four runs. Still, Mize has quietly had a strong fifth season, going 9-4 with a 3.40 ERA and 1.28 WHIP across 17 starts. He will be monitored closely in his next appearance as the Tigers hope the knee issue proves to be nothing more than a temporary setback.Source: Daniella Bruce
Detroit Tigers right-hander Evan McPherson on a Roll in Camp
Evan McPherson converted all six of his field-goal attempts on Sunday to continue a spotless training camp. McPherson is off to an 18-for-18 start this summer as he looks to leave an underwhelming 2024 season behind him. After beginning his career with a productive three-year run, McPherson went backward last season in making just 16 of 22 field goals (72.7%), though he did knock in all but one of his 38 extra-point tries. The 26-year-old missed the Bengals' final five games because of a groin injury, but he has bounced back nicely from it so far. As part of a team with a high-powered offense, McPherson should get plenty of opportunities this year. He's RotoBaller's eighth-ranked kicker heading into the 2025 campaign.Source: Dan Hoard
Cincinnati Bengals kicker Allen Lazard Dropping in Jets WR Pecking Order
Allen Lazard has had "a very quiet" training camp thus far and is dropping in the team's wide receiver pecking order as a result, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports. Meanwhile, free-agent addition Josh Reynolds has emerged as the odds-on favorite for the No. 2 role opposite star Garrett Wilson. Lazard appeared in 12 games last year and caught 37 of 60 targets for 530 yards and six touchdowns. The belief during the offseason was that the Jets would move on from Lazard, particularly with the departure of his friend and longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but he wound up taking a pay cut to stay. Now a member of what could be a run-heavy offense with Justin Fields replacing Rodgers, Lazard probably won't make much of an impact from a fantasy standpoint in 2025.Source: Rich Cimini
The New York Jets' Shedeur Sanders Yet to Take First-Team Reps
Shedeur Sanders is the only healthy quarterback on the roster who hasn't gotten any reps with the No. 1 offense in training camp, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. The former Colorado standout, a fifth-round pick in this year's draft, is trailing behind Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and rookie third-rounder Dillon Gabriel. With that said, Saturday's practice was Sanders' best so far, according to Jackson, who notes that he "displayed touch and confidence." The 23-year-old will need to keep that up to earn a roster spot in a crowded QB room. He'll have an opportunity at more reps if Pickett (hamstring) has to miss time because of the hamstring injury that he suffered Saturday.Source: Zac Jackson - The Athletic

Trey Hendrickson, Bengals "Still Talking"
Source: Tom Pelissero
According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson is "still talking" with the front office regarding a new contract. "My understanding is the sides are still talking," said Pelissero. There is some back and forth." Hendrickson has been a force on the defensive side of the ball throughout his career, most recently combining for 35 sacks in the last two seasons. He has also been named to the Pro Bowl four times. The Bengals were successful in getting rookie Shemar Stewart to finally agree to his rookie contract. However, it will be interesting to see how things play out in this situation, considering both sides aren't willing to budge on guaranteed cash. Without question, the Bengals will need him on the field, especially since the defense struggled during the 2024 campaign.Luis Robert Jr. Avoids Significant Injury
Luis Robert Jr. (forearm) appears to have avoided any major injuries after getting hit by a pitch during Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Robert made his return to the lineup on Sunday after missing the two previous games due to a groin issue. He took a fastball off the forearm in the ninth inning, but luckily the X-rays came back negative for any fractures. It wouldn't be shocking to see Robert get off a game or two. There has been plenty of speculation that Robert could be traded at the deadline next week. Possibly, the White Sox hold him out until then to avoid anymore injuries.Source: Scott Merkin
Chicago White Sox outfielder Erick Fedde Traded to Braves
Erick Fedde was traded to the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. This comes a few days after Fedde was designated for assignment by the Cardinals. After a solid season in 2024, Fedde completely fell apart on the mound this season. He holds a 5.22 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 63/47 K/BB ratio across 20 starts with the Cards in 2025. In exchange, the Cardinals will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations for Fedde. The Braves starting rotation has been crushed by injuries, so Fedde will at least give them a healthy arm.Source: Atlanta Braves
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Eli Apple Signing One-Year Deal with the 49ers
Source: Adam Schefter
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, free-agent cornerback Eli Apple agreed to a one-year deal with the 49ers on Sunday. The 2016 No. 10 overall pick has suited up for the Giants, Saints, Panthers, Bengals, Dolphins, and Chargers during his career. He has appeared in 102 regular-season contests, totaling 383 tackles and six interceptions. Unfortunately, Apple hasn't been as productive in recent seasons. While it's unknown how much work he'll see in San Francisco, he will at least add depth to a 49ers team that dealt with plenty of injuries throughout the 2024 campaign.Braden Montgomery Promoted to Double-A
Braden Montgomery was promoted to Double-A Birmingham on Sunday. This didn't take long as Montgomery earned a promotion from Single-A in less than one season of pro ball. Montgomery slashed .269/.358/.455 with 11 home runs, 57 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 87 games in Single-A this season. Montgomery was a first-round pick of the Boston Red Sox from 2024. He was traded to the White Sox in that deal that sent Garrett Crochet to Boston. The 22-year-old won't be ready for the MLB this season, but a promotion to The Show in 2026 shouldn't be out of the question.Source: milb.com
Chicago White Sox outfielder Laviska Shenault Jr. Activated on Sunday
Laviska Shenault Jr. (leg) was activated off the active/non-football injury list on Sunday. The wideout was battling a lower leg strain, forcing him to miss the first four practices of training camp. He signed with the Bills in March after making stops in Jacksonville, Carolina, Seattle, and Los Angeles (Chargers) since being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He had a decent rookie campaign, finding the end zone five times. However, Shenault has only had two touchdowns ever since. Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer have both looked good during training camp, and Khalil Shakir doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of losing his spot on the depth chart. With that in mind, Shenault will have work to do in order to get meaningful snaps throughout the season. For now, he's not worth drafting in any fantasy format.Source: Ian Rapoport
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Aroldis Chapman Dealing with Back Tightness
Aroldis Chapman (back) was pulled during Sunday's outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Chapman walked the first two batters he faced before getting Shohei Ohtani to fly out. After that, Chapman exited the game with the trainer without much clarity on the injury. According to Christopher Smith, Chapman was removed due to back tightness. Red Sox' manager Alex Cora said he doesn't believe Chapman will require a trip to the injured list and the southpaw should be considered day-to-day. Possibly, Chapman gets a few days off, which could mean closer by committee until he's ready to pitch again.Source: Christopher Smith
Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Dawson Knox Activated off Active/NFI List
Dawson Knox was activated off the active/non-football injury list on Sunday. The veteran was dealing with a hamstring injury. Fortunately, his stint on the shelf didn't last too long. The 28-year-old has spent his entire career in Buffalo, totaling 193 catches (299 targets) for 2,277 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was once one of the most productive tight ends in the National Football League. However, since combining for 15 touchdowns during the 2021 and 2022 campaigns, Knox has only found the end zone three times in the last two seasons. Although Dalton Kincaid has had his share of struggles, he's still the No. 1 tight end on the depth chart. While that doesn't necessarily mean Knox won't get looks from Josh Allen, he likely won't be consistent enough to warrant starting consideration in any fantasy format.Source: Ian Rapoport
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Buffalo Bills tight end Byron Buxton Considered Day-to-Day
Byron Buxton (ribs) appears to have avoided any significant injuries. Buxton underwent an MRI on Sunday which revealed left rib cartilage irritation. There is no structural damage, so this sounds like positive news for the Twins. On Sunday, Twins' manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters Buxton is considered day-to-day. He sat out on Sunday, but should be back in the lineup at some point next week. Fantasy managers will have to check back to see if he's in the lineup on Monday.Source: Bobby Nightengale
Minnesota Twins outfielder Kenny Pickett Suffers Hamstring Injury
Kenny Pickett (hamstring) was injured toward the end of Saturday's practice. He will be re-evaluated "later this week." The signal-caller, who was traded to the Browns in March, has looked good throughout training camp, appearing to have an early lead for the starting quarterback job. However, Joe Flacco may handle most of the first-team reps in the interim, with Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in line for more work. Pickett has appeared in 30 regular-season contests combined for the Steelers and Eagles during his career, throwing for 4,765 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing 62.4% of his attempts and adding five scores on the run. All things considered, any Browns quarterback, regardless of who starts, won't draw attention from managers in fantasy drafts heading into Week 1.Source: Adam Schefter
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns quarterback
