Dallas Goedert Questionable for Week 2 at Chiefs
Dallas Goedert (knee) is dealing with a knee sprain that could leave the Eagles without their receptions leader for Sunday's trip to Kansas City. While the injury isn't expected to sideline him long--if at all--his missed practice time is notable for a passing game that must improve after totaling just 152 yards in Week 1. If Goedert sits, Grant Calcaterra would likely see elevated snaps at tight end, and the target load would tilt further toward A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, and Saquon Barkley. Against a disciplined Chiefs defense, losing Goedert would stress Philadelphia's short and intermediate game and put added pressure on Jalen Hurts to find rhythm early. UPDATE: Goedert officially missed Wednesday's practice.

Jose Soriano Being Pushed Back a Day
Jose Soriano will not make his scheduled start on Wednesday against the visiting Minnesota Twins in Anaheim, according to Erica Weston of Bally Sports. Soriano will get an extra day of rest and start on Thursday in the series opener in Seattle against the division-rival Mariners. Right-hander Jose Urena will make the spot start against the Twins at Angel Stadium. The Halos are giving Soriano an extra day after he surrendered eight runs in just 2 1/3 innings to the Athletics his last time out. The 26-year-old won't have an easy bounce-back matchup on the road against a Seattle club in a heated battle for the American League West division lead and the final wild-card spot. Urena has pitched for a whopping five teams this year and has a 4.39 ERA with 26 K's and 13 walks in 14 appearances (five starts). Fantasy managers should look for better streaming options.

Dillon Head Back in Action at High-A Beloit
Dillon Head (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list at High-A Beloit on Tuesday. It's not clear what was ailing the former first-round draft pick, but he hasn't played since August 20, which was his debut for Beloit after getting promoted from Single-A Jupiter. The Marlins' 11th-ranked prospect slashed .224/.336/.318 during the regular season, with four home runs and 37 steals. The 20-year-old makes it back in time for the High-A playoffs, with the next game (Game 2) for Beloit scheduled for Thursday against Cedar Rapids. While his speed is an asset and he walks at a decent rate, without much power, he'll need to start hitting for a higher average if he's going to make progress through Miami's system next year.

Calvin Austin III Emerging in Pittsburgh
Calvin Austin III is ready for a breakout season. Austin showed instant chemistry with Aaron Rodgers in Week 1, catching 4-of-6 targets for 70 yards and a touchdown. With defenses shading coverage to DK Metcalf, Austin's speed and crisp routes give Rodgers a reliable separator who can win underneath and create explosive plays after the catch. The fit makes sense--Rodgers has long thrived with precise route-runners--and early usage suggests Austin will remain a featured option. In Week 2 against Seattle, expect the defense to focus on Metcalf in his first game versus his former team, opening space for Austin on crossers, option routes, and deep shots. He's a sneaky breakout with real big-play potential.

Jo Adell Back in the Lineup Against Twins
Jo Adell (illness) is starting in right field and is batting cleanup for Wednesday's game against the visiting Minnesota Twins and right-hander Taj Bradley. Adell has been dealing with vertigo since Sunday, which caused him to miss the first two games of the series against Minnesota. The 26-year-old appears to be feeling better now, though, and will return to action against a pitcher that he has only faced twice in his career. Adell has one hit against Bradley. He's been one of the bright spots in 2025 for another disappointing Angels squad, hitting .243/.303/.507 with an .811 OPS and career-highs in home runs (35), RBI (94), and runs scored (57) in 136 games played. Get him back into your starting lineups, but also be aware that he's been scratched from the lineup each of the past two days.

Sean Burke Recalled and Starting on Wednesday
Sean Burke from Triple-A Charlotte and designating right-hander Dan Altavilla in a corresponding move. Burke will make the start for Wednesday's contest against the Tampa Bay Rays. After being sent down to the farm last month, the 25-year-old will return to Chicago's starting rotation and could stay there for a couple turns through the end of the season. The former third-rounder went 4-10 with a 4.28 ERA (4.88 FIP) and 1.44 WHIP while striking out 110 and walking 54 in 117 2/3 frames over 24 outings (20 starts). Burke wasn't exactly great after being sent to Charlotte, allowing 11 runs in 12 2/3 innings for the Knights. Fantasy managers should consider him a pretty low-upside streaming option in deeper leagues in his return on Wednesday.

Travis Hunter's Two-Way Load Grows Ahead of Bengals Matchup
Travis Hunter's two-way role is set to grow in Week 2 as the Jaguars prepare for the Bengals. After logging 44 of 63 offensive snaps and just six on defense in his NFL debut, the staff plans to ease him into packages on the back end while still managing his workload. Hunter already looked comfortable on offense, leading Jacksonville in targets (8) and receptions (6) for 33 yards, and his ability to threaten defenses after the catch should continue to earn designed touches. The added defensive snaps give Jacksonville a flexible chess piece for passing downs and late-game situations. With Cincinnati's defense still unproven, expect Hunter's snap share and impact to climb as the Jaguars find more ways to keep their difference-maker on the field.

Romy Gonzalez Out on Wednesday
Romy Gonzalez (knee) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Athletics in Sacramento. David Hamilton is starting at second base and will hit seventh for the BoSox against A's right-hander Mason Barnett. Left-knee soreness caused the Red Sox to pull Gonzalez in the second inning of Tuesday's game, and he's now day-to-day after going 2-for-2 with a home run, double, and two RBI before leaving. Boston doesn't sound too concerned about Gonzalez's knee injury for now, so he may be back at the keystone on Friday against the division-rival New York Yankees. The 29-year-old has struggled to stay healthy in 2025, but he's been a solid bat for the Red Sox when he's been available, hitting a career-best .311 (84-for-270) with a career-high nine homers, 48 RBI, and five steals in 84 games.

Jaxson Dart Will Remain the QB2 in Week 2
Jaxson Dart will remain as the QB2 heading into the Week 2 divisional clash against the Dallas Cowboys. "He had a good camp, he had a good preseason...we'll continue to work with him," Daboll said. Dart opened the regular season as the direct backup to Russell Wilson for the Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders, ahead of veteran Jameis Winston. The Giants even said Dart could have a role in the Week 1 game plan, although he didn't end up getting on the field. There was speculation that New York might bench Wilson after a lackluster showing in the season-opening loss. The G-Men are sticking with him for now, but if he underwhelms again against Dallas, don't be surprised if Daboll pulls the trigger and moves to Dart as early as Week 3.

Xavier Worthy Will Not Practice on Wednesday
Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Jalen Royals (knee) will not practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Andy Reid. Reid added that both receivers are doing better and making progress. For Worthy, surgery to fix his dislocated right shoulder is not under consideration at this time. Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder on the first series of the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last Friday in Brazil when he collided with teammate Travis Kelce. There is no current timetable for the 22-year-old's return, but it seems unlikely he'll be available for a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 this Sunday. With Royals also looking unlikely after missing the season opener, Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton figure to start in three-wide sets next to Kelce this weekend.

Browns Sticking With Andre Szmyt in Week 2
Andre Szmyt will kick for the team on Sunday in Week 2 against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens and said he expects the young kicker to get better. In his NFL debut in the one-point loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, Szmyt missed one of his two extra-point tries and also missed a 36-yard field-goal attempt that would have given Cleveland a lead in the fourth quarter on Sunday. The Browns are sticking with the Syracuse product for now, but if he continues to struggle, it will be interesting to see how long a leash Stefanski gives him. Szmyt connected on a field goal over 40 yards in his other try in his first regular-season NFL game. For fantasy purposes, stay away from the young kicker.

Wan'Dale Robinson Out on Wednesday With Ankle Issue
Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) will miss practice on Wednesday with an ankle issue, according to Patricia Traina of SI.com. While it's not a good sign that Robinson is a DNP to begin Week 2 practice, the Giants have downplayed the severity of his injury, which means he should be able to return to practice later this week and play on Sunday against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. The 24-year-old played a healthy 76 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders and caught six of eight targets for 55 yards. While not the sexiest of fantasy wideouts, Robinson continues to be peppered with targets and has staked his claim to the WR2 role in NY behind Malik Nabers. Robinson's fantasy value could improve if rookie QB Jaxson Dart takes over for veteran Russell Wilson, but that will not happen in Week 2.

Romy Gonzalez Day-to-Day With Knee Soreness
Romy Gonzalez (knee) exited a 6-0 win over the Athletics on Tuesday with soreness in his left knee, but it doesn't appear to be a serious injury. "Structurally, everything's good. Hoping to be ready to go by Friday," said Gonzalez, who went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI on Tuesday before the Red Sox replaced him at first base with Nathaniel Lowe in the bottom of the second inning. With Gonzalez unavailable, Lowe will start at first, and David Hamilton will man the keystone against Athletics right-hander Mason Barnett on Wednesday. The Red Sox are idle on Thursday, but based on what Gonzalez told the media, he could be available when they open an important series against the New York Yankees on Friday. The 29-year-old has been productive over 84 games this season, having slashed .311/.345/.507 with nine homers, 48 RBI, 41 runs scored, and five stolen bases in 290 plate appearances.

Anthony Santander's Rehab Assignment Pushed Back
Anthony Santander (shoulder, back) was supposed to start a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday, but lower-back tightness prevented it from happening. The team will give Santander one or two days to recover before sending him to play his first rehab game, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Although it's a minor setback, it continues a frustrating and injury-ravaged season for Santander. The 30-year-old has been on the IL with left-shoulder issues since May 30 and has played in just 50 games this season as a result. When healthy, the former Baltimore slugger has hit a subpar .179/.273/.304 with six homers, 18 RBI, and 14 runs scored over 209 trips to the plate.

Malik Nabers Limited on Wednesday with Back Injury
Malik Nabers (back) is expected to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday. Nabers was held out of practice on Friday, leading up to their season opener with this same injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears the team is leaning toward the side of caution with their star pass catcher. In Week 1, Nabers was able to catch five of his 12 targets for 71 yards. Even though the Giants offense struggled against the Commanders, the former first-round pick continued to see a hefty target share. In his debut season, Nabers tallied 1,204 yards and seven catches on 109 receptions. If he is cleared to play on Sunday in his typical role, fantasy managers should view him as a high-end WR1 in all formats despite his subpar QB play.

Dustin May Expects to Pitch Again in 2025
Dustin May (elbow) landed on the 15-day injured list with elbow neuritis on Tuesday (retroactive to Sept. 6). However, he avoided structural damage and expects to return this year. May told reporters there's a "very big possibility" he'll be back before the regular season ends. If that doesn't happen, the 28-year-old is optimistic that he'll be ready for a potential playoff run in October. Whether Boston would want to use May in the postseason is in question, as the former Los Angeles Dodger has fallen flat since joining the Red Sox in a July trade. May has gone 1-4 with a 5.40 ERA, a 1.69 WHIP, and 26:13 K:BB in 28 1/3 innings as a member of the Red Sox. Meanwhile, left-handed prospect Connelly Early - whom the team promoted to start in May's place on Tuesday - dazzled in his major league debut. Early punched out 11 hitters across five scoreless innings in a 6-0 victory over the Athletics.

Xander Bogaerts Targeting Late-Season Return
Xander Bogaerts (foot) has resumed light baseball activities and hopes to come off the 10-day injured list for the final week of the regular season. Bogaerts has been out for almost two weeks after fouling a ball off his left foot and suffering a non-displaced fracture on Aug. 27. Over 131 games and 534 plate appearances this season, the 32-year-old has hit a decent .262/.330/.387 with 10 homers, 49 RBI, 60 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases. The Padres, who hold a wild-card spot and trail the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers by two games, have mostly turned to Jose Iglesias to handle short in Bogaerts' absence.

Tyler Locklear Expected to Miss Rest of Season
Tyler Locklear (elbow) is expected to miss the rest of the season with an injured left elbow. Locklear landed on the 10-day IL on Monday after colliding with Boston Red Sox catcher Connor Wong on Sunday. The Diamondbacks are still determining the severity of Locklear's injury, but with little time left in the season, they're likely to shut him down. Acquired from the Seattle Mariners in July in a deal for third baseman Eugenio Suarez, the 24-year-old Locklear struggled to a .175/.267/.262 line with three homers, six RBI, 11 runs scored, and three stolen bases in 116 plate appearances this season. He figures to vie for a regular role next spring, but in the meantime, Ildemaro Vargas could finish 2025 as the Diamondbacks' primary first baseman.

Anthony Rizzo Retires
Anthony Rizzo is retiring as a member of the Chicago Cubs, Jesse Rogers of ESPN reports. The 36-year-old will serve as an ambassador the Cubs, who will honor him before their game against the Tampa Bay Rays this Saturday. Rizzo entered the professional ranks as a sixth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2007, but they eventually traded him to the San Diego Padres. He made his way to the Cubs in a 2012 trade and became a franchise icon thanks to his on- and off-field contributions. Rizzo spent 2012-21 with Chicago and went on to make three All-Star teams, win four Gold Gloves, and help the club to a World Series title in 2016, breaking a 108-year drought. His run with the Cubs ended when they shipped him to the New York Yankees in July 2021. Rizzo stayed with the Yankees through 2024, and though he showed interest in continuing his career this season, he didn't sign with anyone as a free agent. He'll now wrap up an excellent career in the majors with a .261/.361/.467 line, 303 home runs, and 965 RBI over 1,727 games and 7,336 plate appearances.

Drake London, Darnell Mooney Both Set to Practice on Wednesday
Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) will both practice on Wednesday, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi. Mooney missed Week 1 with a shoulder injury he suffered in training camp, while London suffered a shoulder sprain in the fourth quarter of the team's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Both players will likely be limited practice participants early in the week, but it's still a positive sign that both will be on the field on Wednesday. The Falcons have a tough matchup in Week 2 as they travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings on Sunday night. Assuming both receivers can play, London is a must-start fantasy wide receiver, while Mooney profiles as a low-end WR4/flex option. UPDATE: Head coach Raheem Morris said he expects London to play in Week 2. Both London and Mooney were limited on Wednesday.

Darren Waller's Status Unclear for Week 2 and Beyond?
Darren Waller (hip) on Wednesday. McDaniel said he "expects to not know what to expect" on Waller and that the team "may get to a point where we realize the risk is too great for the rest of the season." Waller missed Miami's season-opener with a hip injury. It's unclear if McDaniel is referencing the status of Waller's hip or the risk of his general health, which has been an issue for the veteran throughout his career. Waller was retired from the NFL in 2024 and only suited up in more than 12 games twice out of eight seasons from 2015 through 2023. He should remain off the radar of fantasy managers for the time being.

Quinshon Judkins Meeting With NFL on Wednesday
Quinshon Judkins is meeting with the NFL in New York on Wednesday as part of the league's personal conduct policy, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. This could be an indication that a suspension is coming for Judkins, who missed all of training camp and was delayed in signing his rookie contract after getting arrested on domestic violence allegations during the summer. Without Judkins, Cleveland split backfield touches in Week 1 between Dylan Sampson, Jerome Ford, and Raheim Sanders. Judkins should have a chance to be the team's lead back when he takes the field, but it's hard to know exactly when that will be at this stage. He remains a waiver-wire target for fantasy managers in leagues where he's available, but may be more of a stash candidate than an immediate contributor.

Quentin Johnston Looking to Maintain Positive Momentum Heading into Week 2
Quentin Johnston was one of the surprise stars of Week 1, recording five catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns in his team's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The 24-year-old will now look to build on the momentum from that performance in Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Johnston finished third on the Chargers in targets in Week 1 behind fellow wideouts Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen, which is a trend that figures to continue going forward as long as all three are healthy. The Raiders' defense forced its Week 1 opponent, the New England Patriots, into a pass-heavy game script with Pats quarterback Drake Maye attempting 46 passes. The Chargers should have more success on the ground, but a pass-heavy approach would significantly improve Johnston's chances for fantasy success. He profiles as a low-end WR4/flex option in Week 2.
