Week 2 Tight End Rankings Outlooks

Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. has one of the highest ceilings and lowest floors of any tight end in the league. The former first-round draft pick logged six games of four catches or more in 2024, but also had eight games where he caught just two passes or fewer. Despite that dynamic, the 24-year-old still managed to finish just outside the top 12 TEs in receiving yards and in fantasy points thanks to the third-highest average yards per reception (12.8) among TEs and four touchdown receptions.

In two contests against the Buccaneers last year, Pitts Sr. hauled in 11 passes for 179 yards and two scores, and he could be in for another productive day on Sunday against a Tampa defense that struggled to cover the middle of the field in 2024. Also, with Darnell Mooney (shoulder) in jeopardy of missing or being limited in this contest, the 6-foot-6 pass catcher could see a few extra targets. The fifth-year pro projects as a volatile high-end TE2 in Week 1.

Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. will get a chance to build on his rapport with quarterback Joe Flacco in Week 2 when his team squares off with the hosting Baltimore Ravens. Fannin Jr. was surprisingly involved in his NFL debut, leading all Cleveland pass-catchers with nine targets.

While the Browns airing it out to such an extent every week seems unlikely, it's encouraging that the rookie was on the field a ton, recording 55 snaps (72%) -- only nine fewer than teammate David Njoku. There are quite a few mouths to feed in Cleveland, so Fannin Jr.'s floor could be volatile. That said, his Week 1 performance is impossible to ignore. He's RotoBaller's PPR TE20, and profiles as a TE2 with upside.

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews had only one catch for five yards in the upset loss to the Bills. While that statistical line was disappointing, his one target was even more troubling for fantasy managers. Fresh off a loss, Baltimore will look to pick up a win over the Browns in Week 2. Andrews has played extremely well versus Cleveland throughout his career (14 games), totaling 59 catches for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Still, after a disastrous Week 1 effort, he's hard to trust, especially with so many options on the offensive side of the ball for the Ravens. Without question, Andrews can get hot, so there's rarely a time when he isn't featured in a fantasy lineup. However, there is some risk involved, which is something fantasy managers need to consider.

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson likely was off the fantasy radar in most leagues to begin the year, but he's become a popular waiver-wire target heading into Week 2 after his eight-catch, 76-yard performance (on 11 targets) in the Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Johnson surprisingly led the Saints in catches and yards on the day in the debut of head coach Kellen Moore, with second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler under center.

The Saints aren't suddenly an offense to watch, but it was notable that Rattler dropped back to pass 46 times -- New Orleans will probably be playing from behind a lot in 2025. Johnson has never gone over 548 receiving yards in five NFL seasons, but he did score seven times in 2022 and could be a trusted weapon for Rattler all year long. He'll face a tougher Niners defense this week, but if you lost George Kittle (hamstring) or Dallas Goedert (knee) already, Johnson could be a serviceable short-term solution.

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid took advantage of his opportunities in last week's season-opening win over the Baltimore Ravens. Kincaid hauled in all four of his targets for 48 yards and a touchdown - just the fifth score of the third-year man's career. In Week 2, he'll go up against a New York Jets defense that surrendered the league's fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends in a 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. That seems auspicious for Kincaid, though it's worth noting that he continues to lag behind Dawson Knox in usage among Bills tight ends.

Knox isn't much of a pass-catching threat, but he garnered more snaps than Kincaid last year, and that remained the case on Sunday. It's also a bit of a concern that Kincaid only totaled four targets during a game in which the Bills, who staged a furious comeback, attempted 46 passes. So, while Kincaid did produce like a fantasy TE1 last week, it would be risky to count on that happening again this week if he doesn't start drawing more attention from quarterback Josh Allen.
