Seattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles is out of the starting lineup ahead of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is now back-to-back games that Robles has been held out of the starting lineup. Before that, Robles was 5-for-17 across four games since returning from his suspension. Luke Raley will take over in right field and bat seventh versus right-hander Jose Soriano on Thursday. Robles hasn't done enough with the bat to warrant rostering in anything more than deep leagues.--Andy Webb

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) was doing conditioning on a side field on Thursday and did not practice with the rest of the team, according to the Bay Area News Group's Cam Inman. Jennings injured his shoulder late in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks and never returned. The Niners sent Jennings for tests earlier this week, and it's not believed that he's dealing with anything serious. However, with two straight DNPs to begin the week, he's trending in the wrong direction to play in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints unless he's able to practice on Friday. The 28-year-old should have a bigger role going forward with tight end George Kittle (hamstring) out three to five weeks, but he'll be a fade candidate in fantasy if he plays in Week 2 with backup quarterback Mac Jones expected to make the start. Jennings caught only two passes for 16 yards in the season opener.--Keith Hernandez

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Reid Detmers (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Thursday. This news comes after Detmers was removed from Wednesday's outing due to elbow discomfort. His 2025 season is now basically over, with only a few weeks left in the regular season. He'll finish his year with a 3.96 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and an 80/25 K/BB across 63 2/3 innings of work this season. In a corresponding move, right-hander Chase Silseth has been recalled to take over the active roster spot. Detmers can safely be dropped in all fantasy formats.--Andy Webb

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) returned to practice on Thursday after being rested in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. It's unclear if McCaffrey was a full or limited participant, but he should be good to go for Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints as long as he doesn't suffer any sort of setback on Friday. The 29-year-old oft-injured RB popped up on last week's injury report on Thursday but proceeded to play in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks. CMC had a positive season opener after being the biggest fantasy bust in 2024 due to injuries, as he produced 142 scrimmage yards. He ran for 69 yards on 22 carries and also caught nine of his 10 targets for an additional 73 yards through the air. Quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) is not expected to play in Week 2, but McCaffrey should continue to be a target hog, especially with tight end George Kittle (hamstring) out three to five weeks. He's a must-start in all fantasy formats.--Keith Hernandez

Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both listed as limited participants for the second straight day in practice on Thursday. London injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Mooney was inactive for the season opener. It sounds like they could both be available on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, but they could draw questionable tags on Friday if they are unable to upgrade to full practices. Head coach Raheem Morris said earlier this week that he expects London to play this weekend, but it's not a guarantee. A questionable tag would make London, normally a must-start WR1, much more risky going into Sunday night. London was heavily involved in Week 1 before getting hurt, catching eight of 15 targets for 55 yards.--Keith Hernandez

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is not practicing on Thursday, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN. Bowers took part in the walk-through portion of practice but didn't do any team drills and will go down as a DNP on the first injury report of Week 2 as the team begins preparing for the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. Bowers downplayed his knee injury after getting hurt in the season-opening win over the New England Patriots last Sunday, and the Raiders are holding out hope that he can return to practice on Thursday or Friday. However, the second-year TE is firmly up in the air to play in Week 2 as things currently stand, and fantasy managers need to have a backup plan in place. Bowers is a must-start TE in fantasy when he's active, but Michael Mayer could be a sneaky streamer against the Bolts on Monday if Bowers cannot get cleared to play.--Keith Hernandez

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe (shoulder) has been playing through a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder, manager Aaron Boone said on Thursday. The Yankees thought it was an old injury that Volpe could play through when they initially got his MRI results back in May, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Volpe has aggravated his shoulder a few times since then, including most recently this past weekend. The 24-year-old suffered the injury back in May while diving for a ball at shortstop, but he never went on the injured list and has been playing through it. It has affected him big time at the plate, as he's hit just .182/.230/.368 since the start of June. Volpe received a cortisone injection in his shoulder and is out of action for the second straight day on Thursday. With Volpe potentially going on the IL, Jose Caballero could be the team's starter at short going forward.--Keith Hernandez

Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry (knee) is targeting a return to action in late October or early November, Murat Ates of The Athletic reports. The Jets captain underwent knee surgery in late May. He was expected to be out for 5-6 months, so it seems Lowry's recovery is on schedule. 2025-26 will be a big year for Lowry, as he enters the final season of a five-year, $16.25 million contract he signed in 2021. Last season, Lowry produced a career-high 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games. Also, he was second on the team with 140 hits. While Lowry doesn't set the world alight in fantasy hockey, he plays an important role for the Jets, and the team will be desperate to get him back as soon as possible.--Taavi Pailk

Detroit Tigers shortstop Zach McKinstry (back) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game in the Bronx against the New York Yankees due to a back injury that will cause him to miss a third straight start. Javier Baez is manning shortstop and will hit ninth for Detroit against Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler. McKinstry is considered day-to-day, with his next chance to return to the lineup coming in Friday's series opener in Miami against the Marlins. Baez has had a resurgent year at the plate in 2025 while becoming more of a utility man for the first-place Tigers, but he's hitting .143 (6-for-42) with no homers, three RBI, three runs and a 14:1 K:BB in 13 games since Aug. 1. He has one hit and three strikeouts in the first four games of September and has never faced Schlittler in his career.--Keith Hernandez

Washington Nationals catcher Riley Adams (groin) is back behind the plate to catch left-hander MacKenzie Gore and will bat third on Thursday against the division-rival Miami Marlins and left-hander Ryan Weathers, who is making his return from the injured list. Adams took a foul tip off a sensitive area while catching in Tuesday's game against the Fish and left the game early, but he avoided a serious injury and is back in there after being rested on Wednesday. The 29-year-old backstop continues to serve as the team's primary catcher with Keibert Ruiz (concussion) still on the injured list. Adams has a career-high eight home runs and 24 RBI in his 71 games played in his fifth year in the big leagues (fourth with the Nats). Overall, he's batting just a hair over .200 but has slashed .239/.316/.380 with five long balls since taking over for Ruiz.--Keith Hernandez

Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson (foot) was limited in practice on Thursday with a foot injury, per Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. Johnson did not play in the Bears' season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and his status for Week 2 against the Detroit Lions is uncertain. D'Andre Swift was the only Chicago running back to record a rush attempt in Week 1, although Bears head coach Ben Johnson said earlier this week that he wants to get rookie back Kyle Monangai more touches going forward. Even if Roschon Johnson plays this week, he could be limited to an RB3 role on his own team. He should remain fantasy radars, but Swift managers should be aware that Johnson could vulture goal-line touches once he returns to the lineup.--Will Brady

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore (abdomen/groin) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday, per The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain. Moore took a nasty hit towards the end of Chicago's Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but it appears he is trending towards playing in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Moore was out-targeted by second-year Bears wideout Rome Odunze in the team's season opener, but did earn three carries, which could be an indication of an expanded role in 2025. Moore profiles as a low-end fantasy WR2/high-end WR3 this week against the Lions.--Will Brady

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Boutte was a popular waiver-wire add in fantasy this week after his breakout Week 1, where he recorded six catches for 103 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 23-year-old has a chance to establish himself as a starting outside receiver for New England this season as long as this shoulder injury does not limit his availability or effectiveness. Boutte's practice status on Friday is worth monitoring, as he will probably enter the weekend with a questionable tag if he is unable to practice in full.--Will Brady

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was a full participant in the team's practice on Thursday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Judkins missed practice on Wednesday due to a meeting with the NFL surrounding his offseason arrest on domestic violence allegations. Given that Judkins is practicing fully, it's possible he could make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. The 21-year-old missed all of training camp, so Cleveland will likely bring him along slowly and have him split touches early on with fellow rookie back Dylan Sampson and veteran Jerome Ford. Judkins should not be started in fantasy even if he's active in Week 2, but he should be rostered in all league formats as a stash play.--Will Brady

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward (concussion) did not practice on Thursday due to a concussion, per James Boyd of The Athletic. Neither Ward nor cornerback Jaylon Jones (hamstring) has practiced yet this week, so the Colts' secondary could be severely shorthanded for its Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Ward earned the 15th-highest grade out of 113 cornerbacks from Pro Football Focus for his work in Week 1. If Ward is unable to play on Sunday, the outlook for top Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton and the rest of Denver's passing game could be quite favorable.--Will Brady

The New York Giants have claimed wide receiver Xavier Gipson off waivers from the New York Jets, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Gipson was released by the Jets after his costly special teams fumble played a big role in the team's Week 1 loss. With the Giants, Gipson should have a chance to battle wide receiver Gunner Olszewski for a role as a reserve slot receiver and primary special teamer. In 35 career NFL games, Gipson has recorded 27 receptions for 268 yards and one touchdown. He should remain off the radar of fantasy managers.--Will Brady

Following the UFC 317 loss against Ilia Topuria, former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira is not considering retirement. "I don't even think about that. I think I'm doing well and in a good phase right now," Oliveria's interpreter said on his behalf. "For me, I think there's still a lot I can show. I feel a lot of pleasure in doing what I'm doing." Oliveira has suffered defeats in three of his last five fights after riding an 11-fight winning streak to a championship run. However, his losses came against some of the best lightweights in the UFC, and he'll have a chance to get back in the win column against Rafael Fiziev on October 11 in his home country of Brazil.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster finished second on the team in targets (five) in Week 1, hauling in five catches for 55 yards. With top Chiefs wideouts Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspension) both currently sidelined, Smith-Schuster could be a consistent feature in the team's passing game over the next few weeks. While the 28-year-old is not an explosive player, he has shown an ability to be a reliable short-area target, particularly when playing next to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Because of his projectable floor as a target earner, Smith-Schuster could be a useful bench receiver in deep PPR-leagues while Kansas City is battling wide receiver injuries--Will Brady

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said on The Rich Eisen Show on Thursday that he thinks Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill could be this year's Davante Adams. Based on his contract alone, Florio doesn't think Hill will be with Miami next year, and if they continue to lose early in 2025, the incentive to move him will become even greater. After the Dolphins' Week 1 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Florio was told that both the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers were eyeing Hill. However, things have become more complicated after a report surfaced on Monday that Hill is being accused of domestic violence. A change of scenery might be best for Hill's declining fantasy value in a Dolphins offense that is no longer explosive, but it remains to be seen if it will actually happen. Returning to the Chiefs makes a lot of sense with Rashee Rice currently suspended and Xavier Worthy dealing with a dislocated shoulder.--Keith Hernandez

Cleveland Browns rookie second-round running back Quinshon Judkins was seen running through drills in the early part of practice on Thursday, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. It was Judkins' first practice since mandatory minicamp in June, before he was involved in a domestic-violence case that caused him to miss all of training camp and the preseason. The 21-year-old Ohio State product didn't sign his rookie deal with the Browns until last weekend, but now that he's under contract with the team and back at practice, it's possible he could make his NFL debut in Week 2 versus the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. Although Judkins won't be charged with a criminal offense, it's possible the NFL eventually hands him a multi-game suspension. Judkins should be stashed in all fantasy formats, but if he's active this Sunday, he won't be a realistic option for starting fantasy lineups just yet.--Keith Hernandez

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams (head) is expected to play in Saturday's SEC vs. Big Ten matchup against Wisconsin, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach. The sophomore preseason All-American was injured in the Week 1 loss to Florida State after hitting his head on the turf and did not play in last week's blowout win over UL-Monroe. Williams impressed as a 17-year-old true freshman a year ago, catching 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. In his 2025 debut, he was limited to just 30 yards and notably dropped three passes in the fourth quarter from quarterback Ty Simpson. Saturday's game will be an opportunity for Williams to bounce back and build on his electric freshman campaign, assuming he can suit up. He is viewed as a sure-fire future NFL first-round pick.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright (knee) was back on the practice field on Thursday and was wearing a compression sleeve on his injured right leg, according to Alain Poupart of SI.com. This was the early portion of practice open to the media, so it's unclear if Wright was officially limited, but it's a good sign nonetheless after he missed the season-opening loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The 22-year-old had surgery on his right knee back in August and is expected to miss multiple weeks at the start of the 2025 campaign, so it would be wise to expect him to sit out in Week 2 in a divisional clash against the New England Patriots. If he's inactive again this weekend, Wright's next chance to play would be in Week 3 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills. Rookie Ollie Gordon II only had two carries for four yards as the RB2 behind De'Von Achane in Week 1. UPDATE: Wright was officially limited on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went just 1-for-4 on Tuesday for Triple-A Jacksonville, but his lone hit was a big one, a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Marlins' third-ranked prospect has now homered in four straight games and five of his last seven, bringing his season total to 20. The 22-year-old now owns a .256/.336/.474 slash line with a .360 wOBA and 119 wRC+ in 106 games this year (93 at Triple-A, 13 at Double-A). The 22-year-old is trending toward a major league debut next year, and with some good power, he could be intriguing for fantasy, however, the Marlins also have plenty of young depth right now at the position, with both Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks handling duties behind the plate. So, Mack would have to somehow find regular at-bats when he gets there to make himself fantasy relevant.--Jarod Rupp

New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor (ankle) is back on the practice field on Thursday after he sat out of the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Although Taylor's status for Week 2 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills could still be up in the air, his return to practice is a good sign. We'll have a better idea of his availability once we know if he was full or limited, but right now it looks as though he's trending toward being active on Sunday. The 21-year-old got off to a quiet start to his NFL career in the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching just one pass, although it did go for a healthy 20-yard gain. Taylor has plenty of long-term upside, but early on, he's probably only a stash option in single-year, TE-premium leagues. For Week 2 against Buffalo, consider him a TE3. UPDATE: Taylor was officially limited on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) remains sidelined at practice on Thursday, according to Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun. It's Likely's second straight practice missed this week. He has yet to practice since having surgery to fix a fracture in his foot in late July and missed the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. The 25-year-old has one more day to get on the practice field on Friday, but as of right now, he's looking doubtful to make his 2025 debut on Sunday in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. Mark Andrews caught his only target for five yards on Sunday despite Baltimore putting up 40 points on offense. It doesn't make him extremely attractive in Week 2 for fantasy managers, but we'd expect him to have a bigger role if Likely misses another game, as expected.--Keith Hernandez

Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. (knee) is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's matchup against Alabama, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The senior transfer from Maryland suffered a knee sprain in last week's victory over Miami of Ohio and is being labeled as week-to-week. With Edwards facing long odds to play, Danny O'Neil is in line to start again for the Badgers. O'Neil has completed 35 of his 46 passing attempts for 403 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions in blowout wins over Miami of Ohio at Middle Tennessee State University. The San Diego State transfer entered the season as the backup to Edwards, but he'll now have a chance at shocking the college football world in Tuscaloosa this weekend.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington signed a four-year, $90 million contract extension on Thursday. The veteran had one year remaining on his former contract. However, the extension will keep him in Dallas for the entire 2025 campaign, at the very least. Washington finished last season by averaging 14.7 points, adding 7.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks. The Mavs have one of the deepest rosters in the National Basketball Association, which was bolstered even more after the team selected Cooper Flagg in the 2025 Draft. As a result, Washington will likely have his off nights, although he's worth adding to any fantasy roster, especially if there are injuries in Dallas throughout the year.--Dennis Clausen

Texas Rangers shortstop prospect Sebastian Walcott will participate in the Arizona Fall League (AFL), one of eight players from the organization that will head to the desert. Walcott has played all season at Double-A, and at only 19 years old, he's performed admirably. The Rangers' top-ranked prospect is hitting .251 on the year, but is currently riding an eight-game hit streak and is 23-for-65 (.354) over his last 17 games. A 12.9 percent walk rate has helped him to a .353 OBP, and he's hit 13 home runs along with 32 stolen bases. The 6-foot-4 slugger should be stashed away in dynasty formats. He'll be joined by Emiliano Teodo, the 2023 AFL Reliever of the Year, who looked like he would be a slam-dunk closer for the team back then, but has had a poor season overall, which has been marred by injury, an 8.00 ERA, and almost as many walks (28) as strikeouts (31) in 27 innings pitched. So, there are some things for him to work on there, and the Rangers can see if he will be a part of their plan for the future.--Jarod Rupp

The Cincinnati Reds announced on Thursday that they reinstated rookie right-hander Chase Burns (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-handers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Burns, who was the second overall pick in last year's draft out of Wake Forest, has made eight starts for the Reds in his first MLB season in 2025, but he is expected to pitch out of the bullpen to help a struggling Cincy relief corps when the team resumes play on Friday in Sacramento against the Athletics. The 22-year-old missed a month of action with a Grade 1 right flexor strain and did not go on a minor-league rehab assignment. Don't expect the Reds to use him in a ton of high-leverage spots, which means he's going to lose significant fantasy value the rest of this year. Burns had a 5.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with a 57:13 K:BB before his injury.--Keith Hernandez

The San Francisco 49ers will turn to quarterback Mac Jones in Week 2 as they face the New Orleans Saints, with Brock Purdy sidelined for the next two to five weeks. Jones, now in his fifth season, is tasked with keeping San Francisco on track while the team navigates key injuries. Expect the offense to continue leaning on Christian McCaffrey, while Ricky Pearsall and running back Brian Robinson Jr. provide additional support. Given the circumstances, the 49ers are likely to simplify the offense, prioritizing efficiency and ball control over explosive plays. While San Francisco's supporting cast provides Jones with enough weapons to stay competitive, fantasy managers should exercise caution before inserting him into lineups. For now, Jones profiles more as a wait-and-see option in deeper leagues.--Shaun Albin
