Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk is being evaluated for a concussion, manager John Schneider said after the team's 6-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. Kirk took a foul ball off the mask in the second inning and stayed in until the Blue Jays replaced him with Tyler Heineman in the fourth. The 26-year-old Kirk has been a key piece for a Toronto team that surprisingly boasts the best record in the majors. He earned his second All-Star nod this season and has slashed .304/.361/.413 with seven homers, 47 RBI, 27 runs scored, and a minuscule 9.8% strikeout rate in 346 plate appearances. If he has to miss time, the Jays would plug in Heineman, a 34-year-old journeyman who has been shockingly productive in 2025. Heineman has hit .330/.394/.495 with three homers, 16 RBI, 19 runs, and two stolen bases over 106 trips to the plate.--Connor ByrneSource: Arden Zwelling - Sportsnet

According to Bobby Nightengale, Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (side) was forced to make an early exit from Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Buxton was reportedly removed from the contest due to left side soreness. Before exiting, Buxton went 0-for-3 at the plate, so it was a fairly unproductive night for him. The expectation is that the Twins are going to give more information on his status following Saturday's game. Harrison Bader took over in center field and figures to see more time out there if Buxton sits out a few games.--Andy WebbSource: Bobby Nightengale

According to Nick Wojton of USA Today, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer is "working well" with quarterback Josh Allen. "Palmer was the standout on Friday," wrote Wojton. "WGRZ-TV noted a back-shoulder catch Palmer made on a pass from Allen." The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Bills in March after spending his first four seasons with the Chargers. He appeared in 59 regular-season contests for Los Angeles, amassing 182 catches for 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Bills don't have a true No. 1 wideout on the depth chart. As such, Palmer has a chance to be just as productive as Keon Coleman, Elijah Moore, and Khalil Shakir throughout the 2025 campaign, although he could still struggle at times to get involved, considering Allen and James Cook get plenty of opportunities on the ground.--Dennis ClausenSource: Nick Wojton

Kansas City Royals first baseman/outfielder Jac Caglianone (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday. Ouch, this is tough news after Caglianone was removed from the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cleveland Guardians. He grounded into a double play in the second inning and was pulled out with a hamstring issue in the third. He'll now sit out the next few weeks due to a hamstring issue. It's worth noting that the Royals did acquire outfielder Randal Grichuk from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Grichuk figures to help fill the void left by Caglianone in the outfield.--Andy WebbSource: Kansas City Royals

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Randal Grichuk was traded to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. In exchange, the D-Backs received right-handed pitcher Andrew Hoffmann. Grichuk actually played for the D-Backs on Saturday, but was pulled after two-bats because he was traded. This is a nice addition for the Royals offense that is currently struggling to bring in runs. Coming into Saturday, Grichuk was slashing .243/.280/.462 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 69 games. The Royals are going to be without Jac Caglianone (hamstring) who just landed on the injured list. The move to acquire Grichuk seems like a smart one right now. Hoffmann has only pitched in three games for the Royals this season. However, he posted a 2.25 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 55/10 K/BB ratio across 32 games in Triple-A.--Andy WebbSource: Steve Gilbert

According to Chris Roling of Bengals Wire, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton has stood out during training camp. The 24-year-old, selected as the No. 80 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had an uneventful rookie season, amassing only four receptions for 107 yards in 14 games. There were also behavioral concerns. However, Burton has seemingly turned things around, with the wideout receiving praise from quarterback Joe Burrow while being "nothing but positive in interviews and eye-openingly good on the field." Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, who both signed new deals in the offseason, will remain the featured wideouts. Still, Burton could find himself in a bigger role if Chase or Higgins go down with an injury, potentially earning more targets than Andrei Iosivas. With that in mind, Burton has little-to-no redraft value at the moment, although he's still worth stashing on dynasty rosters.--Dennis ClausenSource: Chris Roling

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (groin) remains out of the starting lineup for the second straight game on Saturday. The 27-year-old is dealing with a groin issue that will force him to miss the second game of this Crosstown Classic. Honestly, it might be best for Robert to rest and avoid any more injuries with his trade value heating up. The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly closely monitoring Robert right now. Robert is having a down year, but was swinging the bat well before the injury. This season, Robert is slashing .206/.293/.343 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, and 26 steals in 84 games. Clearly not great numbers, but there are not a ton of big-time hitters available at the trade deadline this year. Robert figures to gain more trade traction over the next week.--Andy WebbSource: Francys Romero

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones worked with the second team on Saturday, with Anthony Richardson Sr. getting first-team reps. Both players have split time with the first and second teams so far, so it's unknown what sparked the change. While Richardson appears to have the early edge on winning the starting job, there is still a way to go heading into Week 1. Jones threw for 24 touchdowns in his inaugural campaign in 2019. However, he didn't get close to that mark throughout the rest of his time with the Giants. The signal-caller has a fresh start in Indianapolis. Although his fantasy stock will rise if he claims the No. 1 spot on the depth chart, he has a way to go before earning the trust of fantasy managers. Jones would also presumably be on a short leash as a starter, with Richardson likely to enter the equation if he struggles.--Dennis ClausenSource: James Boyd

Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena (rib) was able to take part in a live batting session on Saturday. Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Pena took seven at-bats and they all went well. Pena continues to work his way back from a ribs issue that has sidelined him since late June. The hope is that Pena is able to begin a rehab assignment soon. If that happens, Pena could be back in the Astros lineup by early August. Fantasy managers will need to stay tuned for more updates.--Andy WebbSource: Matt Kawahara

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Seattle Seahawks running back Kenny McIntosh (knee) is believed to have sustained a torn ACL. He suffered the injury during practice on Saturday, requiring assistance off the field. The 25-year-old finished the 2024 campaign with only 172 yards off 31 carries. He is competing for the No. 3 spot behind Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet while potentially serving as a return man on special teams. However, with McIntosh's season likely over, rookie Damien Martinez could replace him on the depth chart, although that won't help him be relevant for fantasy managers, at least as long as Walker and Charbonnet are healthy. McIntosh will undergo further testing, with an official diagnosis expected soon.--Dennis ClausenSource: Adam Schefter

According to Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales, wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan will have a pivotal role right away. "He's going to get targeted a lot," said Canales during a recent practice. "He's going to be a big part of what we do. We're going to challenge him." The 2025 No. 8 overall pick is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons with the Arizona Wildcats, so it's apparent he has plenty of talent. However, McMillan may not be as impactful for fantasy managers if Bryce Young doesn't show signs of growth throughout the 2025 campaign after two underwhelming seasons in the National Football League. With that in mind, McMillan still commands attention in redraft formats while being a top-five option in rookie drafts.--Dennis ClausenSource: Josh Graham

Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins is now the only unsigned pick from the 2025 NFL Draft. The rookie was arrested on July 12 in Florida on a battery and domestic violence charge stemming from an incident that allegedly took place on July 7. He is entering the National Football League with plenty of hype, considering he amassed 1,060 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2024. Of course, Judkins' legal issues haven't done him any favors regarding his outlook from a fantasy standpoint, especially since he might be facing a suspension. With that in mind, Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson will battle for the right to sit atop the depth chart heading into Week 1. However, Judkins could take over the No. 1 spot during the year, assuming he signs soon, giving him value later in fantasy drafts. On the other hand, Judkins still commands first-round attention in rookie drafts.--Dennis ClausenSource: Adam Schefter

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen (forearm) has completed his rehab and will come off the 60-day injured list on either Sunday or Monday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. It has been a long road back for Treinen, who has been out since April 19 with a sprained right forearm. Before going on the shelf, the 37-year-old pitched to a strong 3.38 ERA with 10 strikeouts, three walks, three holds, and two saves in eight innings. With fellow late-game relievers Tanner Scott (elbow) and Michael Kopech (knee) on the IL, Treinen will be a candidate to rack up saves when he returns. However, regardless of inning, the Dodgers plan to use Treinen in the highest-leverage situations, according to Plunkett.--Connor ByrneSource: Bill Plunkett

The Los Angeles Angels announced that they have placed outfielder Chris Taylor on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand. Jones, who suffered the injury on a diving play in the outfield on Friday, expects to miss around six weeks. This is the second time this season that Taylor has broken his left hand. He just returned this past Monday after sitting out a month and a half thanks to the injury, but now the 34-year-old is already back on the shelf. When healthy, the former All-Star has posted a dismal .194/.247/.319 line with one home run and six RBI in 77 plate appearances between the Angels and Dodgers.--Connor ByrneSource: Rhett Bollinger - MLB.com

New York Yankees outfield prospect Spencer Jones is currently not a candidate to replace the injured Aaron Judge (elbow) on the team's roster, Andy Martino of SNY reports. Judge will miss at least the next 10 days with a right flexor strain, which could have cleared a path for Jones. The 24-year-old is dealing with back spasms, though, and that's the main reason why he's not on his way to the majors. At 6-7, 240 pounds, Jones is a hulking slugger who has drawn comparisons to Judge. He has been on a Judge-like tear in the minors this season between Double-A and Triple-A, where he has combined to slash .314/.411/.706 with 29 homers, 57 RBI, 69 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases in 302 plate appearances. Thanks to his otherworldly production this year, the Yankees have deemed Jones borderline untouchable in trades as the July 31 deadline nears, according to Martino.--Connor ByrneSource: Andy Martino - SNY

Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger (quadriceps) is targeting an Aug. 8 return from the 10-day injured list, according to Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News. Burger has already missed two weeks after going on the IL on July 13 with a strained left quadriceps. When healthy, the 29-year-old has batted a subpar .228/.259/.401 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, and a career-worst 2.8% walk rate over 286 plate appearances in his first season with the Rangers. The club has used an array of players at first base in Burger's absence. Rowdy Tellez, Josh Smith, Ezequiel Duran, and Justin Foscue have each started at the position in the past week.--Connor ByrneSource: Shawn McFarland

Texas Rangers designated hitter Joc Pederson (hand) will come off the 10-day injured list and return as a full-time DH on Sunday against the Atlanta Braves, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports. Pederson suffered a fractured right hand on May 24 and has missed just over two months. The two-time All-Star joined the Rangers on a two-year, $37 million contract in the offseason, but it hasn't worked out at all so far. Pederson will come back and try to improve on a brutal .131/.269/.238 line with two home runs and 10 RBI over 146 plate appearances.--Connor ByrneSource: Shawn McFarland

Philadelphia Phillies infielder Edmundo Sosa left the team's 9-4 win over the New York Yankees on Saturday with a back contusion, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports. Sosa suffered the injury when he collided with center fielder Brandon Marsh on a seventh-inning catch. The 29-year-old went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI before the Phillies replaced him at third base with Otto Kemp. Sosa has hit a decent .270/.314/.419 with four home runs, 25 RBI, and 17 runs scored in 161 plate appearances. If he has to miss time, it could increase the Phillies' urgency to acquire infield help before the July 31 trade deadline. They're already without starting third baseman Alec Bohm, who went on the 10-day injured list on July 12 with a fractured rib.--Connor ByrneSource: Charlotte Varnes - The Athletic

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts (personal) is not in the team's lineup against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. It's the second straight off day for Betts, who's dealing with a personal matter. Miguel Rojas is starting at short in Betts' place and batting seventh against ace left-hander Garrett Crochet. It's unknown if Betts will return Sunday, so fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his status. The eight-time All-Star has hit an uncharacteristically pedestrian .238/.309/.370 with 11 homers, 45 RBI, 59 runs scored, and six stolen bases in 414 plate appearances this year.--Connor ByrneSource: MLB.com

The Milwaukee Brewers have activated outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville. Frelick is back after a short stay on the IL with a mild strain of his left hamstring. Before going on the IL on July 15, the 25-year-old slashed a career-best .294/.354/.404 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases over 385 plate appearances. His injury opened up playing time for Blake Perkins, who went just 4-for-21 with 11 strikeouts in Frelick's absence.--Connor ByrneSource: Milwaukee Brewers

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Tennessee Titans are signing free agent wide receiver Ramel Keyton. The details of the deal were not disclosed. Keyton will join the team on Monday. Tennessee is moving quickly in the wake of Treylon Burks' (shoulder) injury news, signing the former Las Vegas Raiders preseason standout. The University of Tennessee product appeared in eight games for the Raiders in 2024, though he came away with just one catch and seven yards on three targets. Despite a lack of talent throughout, Keyton faces a difficult task cracking the Titans' starting receiving corps. Fellow wideout Van Jefferson is a solid NFL-caliber receiver, and Tennessee took a shot on three intriguing rookies in Chimere Dike, Elic Ayomanor, and quarterback Cam Ward's former Miami teammate, Xavier Restrepo.--Alex CiullaSource: Tom Pelissero

The Minnesota Twins announced that they have placed catcher/designated hitter Ryan Jeffers on the paternity list and recalled utility player Mickey Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul. Jeffers has slashed a solid .254/.346/.399 with seven homers, 34 RBI, and 31 runs scored in 315 plate appearances this season. The 28-year-old will now miss up to three days, leaving the starting job to backup Christian Vazquez. The light-hitting Vazquez has slumped to a .190/.254/.272 line with two homers and 12 RBI in 173 trips to the plate. He'll bat ninth Saturday against Washington Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker.--Connor ByrneSource: Minnesota Twins

Kansas City Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone (hamstring) exited the team's game against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday with tightness in his left hamstring. Caglianone came out after grounding into a second-inning double play in his lone at-bat. The Royals replaced him in right field with John Rave and brought MJ Melendez off the bench to handle left. The severity of Caglianone's injury is unknown, but it's another unfortunate development in what has been a rocky start in the majors. The sixth overall pick in last year's draft, Caglianone debuted on June 3 and has hit an ugly .147/.205/.280 with five home runs and 10 RBI in his first 161 plate appearances in the bigs. The good news is that Caglianone's .330 xwOBA far outpaces his .217 wOBA, which suggests he's in line for positive regression. For now, the hope is that he'll avoid a stint on the 10-day injured list.--Connor ByrneSource: Kansas City Royals

According to Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com, New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas has been quarterback Drake Maye's No. 1 pass-catcher, and "it isn't close." The duo reportedly flashed their connection in Saturday's practice on a scramble drill, with the Liberty alum turning upfield and snagging a long touchdown. Douglas has been a star at camp, per Kyles, "consistently getting open" and "catching everything thrown his way," -- looking exceedingly comfortable in Josh McDaniels' offense. The sentiment surrounding Maye is that he'll take a significant step forward in Year 2. If that's the case, and Douglas is ascending to a prominent role in the offense, he'd be a steal at his current ADP, sitting just inside the top 200 in drafts. At first blush, he'll likely be a more valuable PPR asset. Still, it isn't often you find a team's No. 1 option in the double-digit rounds.--Alex CiullaSource: Taylor Kyles
