Akshay Bhatia Improving in Time for U.S. Open
Source: PGATour.com
Akshay Bhatia struggled after three top-10 results in four events. The American golfer endured many struggles through April and most of May. However, the past two tournaments have shown improvement, as Bhatia had a T22 at the Charles Schwab and then a T16 at the Memorial. It was the latter which turned some heads, only because Bhatia bounced back from an 80 with a final-round 70. He hopes to improve from his PGA Tour performance when he missed the cut. Scrambling is an issue, as he ranks 159th (56.15%). With how deep the rough is and the greens being so challenging, Bhatia could very well struggle. Oakmont values accuracy and clutch putting. Bhatia has the ability, with consistency being the question.Davante Adams Feels Rejuvenated With Rams
Davante Adams feels rejuvenated with the Los Angeles Rams and is already helping Puka Nacua and the team's other pass-catchers. Adams was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets midseason last year to work with buddy Aaron Rodgers. While the 32-year-old six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro saw plenty of volume, he wasn't exactly efficient and finished the year with 85 grabs on 141 targets for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 starts. He's now working with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, which is good news, but the volume probably won't be there like it has been while he shares targets with Nacua, who figures to be Stafford's favorite target. RotoBaller has Adams ranked as the No. 19 fantasy wideout, with Nacua coming in at No. 3.Source: Los Angeles Daily News - Adam Grosbard
The Los Angeles Daily News' Adam Grosbard reports that veteran wide receiver Jackson Jobe to Undergo Tommy John Surgery
Jackson Jobe (elbow) received some bad news on Wednesday. Jobe will reportedly undergo Tommy John surgery on his elbow, which will sideline him for the rest of the season. The right-hander was placed on the injured list at the end of May due to a right elbow flexor strain. It was apparently worse than that, so he'll miss the second half of the season and part of the 2026 campaign as well. This is frustrating to both fantasy managers and baseball fans in general as Jobe is one of the top prospects in the Tigers system. Fantasy managers in redraft formats can safely drop Jobe with him done for the 2025 season. The Tigers should give a better timetable on his eventual return at a later date.Source: Evan Petzold
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Patrick Bailey Placed on 10-Day Injured List
Patrick Bailey (neck) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Bailey was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's contest with neck spasms. He has now been diagnosed with a neck strain and will miss at least a week of action. Andrew Knizner will do the catching on Wednesday and figures to see a majority of the time behind the plate while Bailey is out. In a corresponding move, Logan Porter has been recalled from Triple-A and will serve as the backup catcher. Bailey hasn't done enough at the plate to warrant holding through the injury.Source: San Francisco Giants
San Francisco Giants catcher Jazz Chisholm Jr. Returning on Wednesday
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (neck) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. This is great news after Chisholm was forced to exit early on Tuesday due to neck tightness. It appears his removal was precautionary and he's ready to go on Wednesday. Chisholm will cover third base and bat fifth versus left-hander Kris Bubic. Fantasy managers can safely get Chisholm back in their lineups on Wednesday.Source: mlb.com
New York Yankees infielder Germaine Pratt Signs One-Year Deal With Raiders
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt signed a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday, a source tells NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Pratt can earn up to $500,000 in incentives. The 29-year-old has quickly landed on his feet after the Bengals released him on Monday. The former third-rounder (72nd overall) in 2019 out of North Carolina State will get a fresh start in the desert after spending the first six years of his NFL career in Cincy, where he racked up 616 tackles (355 solo), 3.5 sacks, 32 tackles for loss, 10 QB hits, seven interceptions, 23 pass breakups, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries in 96 games (88 starts). He has had over 100-plus tackles in each of the last two years, including a career-high 143 (80 solo) in 17 starts in 2024. While Pratt is a strong tackler, he was exposed in coverage and could be more of a rotational linebacker in Vegas.Jasson Dominguez Absent on Wednesday
Jasson Dominguez is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Dominguez will now head to the bench for the second time in the last three games. It's a bit odd to see Dominguez heading to the bench after a three-hit game on Tuesday. He's slashing .246/.340/.402 with six home runs and 25 RBI this season. The potential is through the roof, but it might take some time for Dominguez to adjust to the big league level. Regardless, he's worth rostering in most 12-team formats. Trent Grisham will cover center field and bat seventh versus left-hander Kris Bubic on Wednesday.Source: mlb.com
New York Yankees outfielder Trevon Diggs Hopes to Return in Week 1
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) said his goal is to return for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall, according to The Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins. Diggs had surgery to fix a cartilage issue in his knee in January and is expected to start training camp this summer on the Physically Unable to Perform list. The 26-year-old tore his ACL in Week 3 of 2023 but made it back last year, only to deal with ankle, calf, groin and foot injuries, in addition to his knee ailment, while being limited to 11 starts. It seems like ages ago that he recorded a league-high 11 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) in 2021. Dallas figures to be cautious with the two-time Pro Bowler in his recovery, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he's not ready for the season opener in September. When healthy, Diggs has already proved he can be a ball-hawking defensive back for the Cowboys defense.Chase Meidroth Resting on Wednesday
Chase Meidroth is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros. Meidroth will get a rest day here after starting in nine straight games. During that span, Meidroth is 12-for-33 with four RBI and at least one hit in seven of his last nine contests. He doesn't offer a ton of power, but his contact ability makes him worth a look in deep leagues. Vinny Capra will cover shortstop and bat ninth versus right-hander Ryan Gusto on Wednesday.Source: mlb.com
Chicago White Sox infielder Joey Bosa Expects to be Full-Go by Training Camp
Buffalo Bills All-Pro defensive end Joey Bosa (calf) said he's being cautious by sitting out mandatory minicamp but expects to be a full-go for the start of training camp in late July, according to The Buffalo News' Ryan O'Halloran. Bosa also missed voluntary organized team activities this offseason, but he expects to be ready for training camp and the start of the 2025 regular season in his first year in Buffalo. The 29-year-old is a former five-time Pro Bowler and can be a game-changer, but he too often has been stuck on the sidelines in recent years due to injuries. The former third overall pick in 2016 by the Los Angeles Chargers out of Ohio State hasn't played in a full season since 2021, which is also the last year he had double-digit sacks. If he's fully healthy, though, he'll be a major boost to Buffalo's pass rush. Bosa has racked up 72 sacks in 107 games (93 starts) since his rookie year in 2016.Colston Loveland Might Not be Full-Go for Start of Training Camp
Colston Loveland (shoulder) will be a full-go for the start of training camp at the end of July. After having surgery on his shoulder in January, Colston has been able to lift weights, run routes and catch passes, with his final hurdle being getting his strength and mobility fully back. In the meantime, he's getting lots of mental reps as he learns Chicago's playbook. The 21-year-old was the 10th overall pick in April's NFL draft and gives second-year quarterback Caleb Williams another pass-catching weapon alongside fellow TE Cole Kmet. While Loveland certainly has a higher fantasy ceiling than Kmet, Kmet's presence and Loveland's delay due to surgery could mean a slow start in his first NFL season. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues should definitely temper expectations.Source: The Athletic - Kevin Fishbain
Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is unsure if rookie first-round tight end Jalen Nailor Bulks Up
Jalen Nailor has bulked up in the offseason, with SKOR North's Judd Zulgad saying, "When you see him physically, you won't recognize him." Zulgad points out that fellow wideout Jordan Addison is likely to be suspended for two to three games to start the 2025 season for an off-field incident in Los Angeles last July, and Nailor is motivated headed into a contract year. The 26-year-old took a big step forward in his third NFL season in Minnesota in 2024, going for a 28-414-6 line on 42 targets over 17 regular-season games (seven starts) after catching 12 passes in his first two seasons. Nailor could have an expanded role early on if Addison is suspended, but he'll also face more competition from rookie third-rounder Tai Felton and free-agent addition Rondale Moore. For now, he remains outside of RotoBaller's top-100 fantasy receivers.Source: SKOR North - Judd Zulgad
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Chargers Impressed With Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton. "He's the total package. You don't see a lot of guys find a hole like he's doing right now," Roman said. The Bolts also signed Najee Harris in free agency this offseason, but Hampton figures to have a big role in his first year in the NFL and is already ranked higher than Harris at RotoBaller. The 22-year-old had over 1,500 rushing yards in his final two seasons at North Carolina and is extremely athletic. We already know the Chargers are going to run plenty under Roman and head coach Jim Harbaugh, and Hampton should reap the benefits. As far as his fantasy value goes, Harris is going to steal valuable touches as an all-around back, but Hampton will have clear RB2 upside and could easily be L.A.'s preferred RB by season's end.Source: ESPN.com - Kris Rhim
Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman has been impressed with rookie first-round running back Steelers Could Limit Aaron Rodgers' Exposure
Aaron Rodgers won't have as much pressure to win games with his right arm alone on a team that has the league's highest-paid defense and features a run-heavy offense that will limit his exposure. Pittsburgh pretty much did the same last year with Russell Wilson, and although they made the playoffs, they scored just 14.2 points per game in their final five games. There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical of the 41-year-old signal-caller, who now lacks mobility after tearing his Achilles in 2023. Rodgers was the NFL's worst QB against the blitz in 2024 and has thrown double-digit interceptions in his last two full seasons. His completion percentage (63%) was the fourth-lowest of any season in which he played at least 16 games. In a run-first offense, Rodgers will be a low-end QB2 in fantasy with minimal upside.Source: The Athletic - Mike DeFabo
Theoretically, The Athletic's Mike DeFabo writes that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Calvin Austin III Set Up to Be the Team's WR2
Source: Mark Kaboly
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni likes Calvin Austin III to be the team's No. 2 wideout behind DK Metcalf in 2025 after George Pickens was traded to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. Azzanni said that Austin is being overlooked and that he is a "legit NFL receiver" that "gets separation all over the field." Roman Wilson and others will be working as a committee behind Metcalf and Austin to open the 2025 regular season. Austin, a former fourth-rounder (138th overall) in 2022 out of Memphis, caught 36 of his 58 targets for 548 yards and four touchdowns in 17 regular-season games (eight starts) in his second season in the NFL last year. He is definitely going to have a bigger role in 2025, but in what is expected to be a run-heavy offense with quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely in the last season of his career, we'd expect Austin to struggle for volume on a week-to-week basis.Ben Casparius Could be Stretched Out as Starter
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts sounded open to the idea of stretching right-hander Ben Casparius out moving forward in order to serve in a traditional starting role and not just as an opener, according toread more...
Nick Kurtz Sits Out in Series Finale
Nick Kurtz received the day off in Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels for rest purposes after he recently returned from the injured list due to a hip injury. Tyler Soderstrom got the start at first base and hit third in the batting order for the A's in Anaheim. Kutz returned to the lineup on Monday and went 1-for-8 with a double and three strikeouts in the first two games of the series against the Halos. The 22-year-old former fourth overall pick last year out of Wake Forest quickly worked his way up through the minors and has impressive long-term upside, especially in the power department. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds and should continue serving as the team's regular first baseman the rest of the way. In his first 102 MLB at-bats, Kurtz has hit .235 with five long balls, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored.Source: MLB.com - Martin Gallegos
Athletics rookie first baseman Baker Mayfield, Bucs Offense Focused on More Explosive Plays
Baker Mayfield noted on Tuesday via the team's official transcript that the new offense is focusing on increasing the number of downfield shots during minicamp. "[We're] working on that, being able to connect on the chemistry we're trying to build right now," noted the Oklahoma product. "This is the time of year we're working on it. Obviously, you would love to have more down-the-field shots, but any completion is a good one." Mayfield's gripe with the offense from 2024 was that it relied heavily on YAC, and it sounds like they're trying to go away from that in 2025. It's worth noting that they weren't very efficient on deep balls last season, but they're certainly equipped to do so with their offensive skill players. More explosiveness would suit the offense well, but only time will tell if that's a suitable game plan for new offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. NFL defenses have done well in recent seasons in limiting explosive plays.Source: Kevin Patra
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback A's Hopeful Jacob Wilson Will Return on Friday
Jacob Wilson (hamstring) is considered day-to-day with left-hamstring tightness after missing a second straight game in Wednesday's series finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels. The team is hopeful that he could return for Friday's series opener in Kansas City against the Royals after a day off on Thursday. The 23-year-old former first-rounder was scratched from Tuesday's loss to the Halos and was also held out of the lineup on Wednesday as a precaution. The good news is fantasy managers should have him back at some point this weekend against the Royals. Wilson has been amazing through 64 games in 2025, slashing .366/.402/.520 with a .922 OPS, eight home runs, 38 RBI, 36 runs scored and five stolen bases. Although he rarely strikes out (16 times in 272 plate appearances), Wilson is due for regression in the average department.Source: MLB.com - Martin Gallegos
Athletics shortstop Austin Hays Still has Pain in his Foot
Austin Hays (foot) had another MRI exam on Wednesday morning because of persistent pain in his left food, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer. The good news is that the MRI still showed no fracture in his foot, and he's been diagnosed with a deep bone bruise. The 29-year-old will be re-evaluated on Friday. Hays has served as the team's regular left fielder this year when he's been healthy, but the problem is he's already been on the injured list several times and doesn't appear close to a return to the big leagues. The former third-rounder by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 has slashed .303/.346/.555 with a .901 OPS, six home runs, 25 RBI, 23 runs and two steals in his 119 at-bats. In the month of June with Hays on the IL, the Reds have mostly used a combination of Will Benson and Spencer Steer in left field.Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Gordon Wittenmyer
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jesus Luzardo Bounces Back With 10-Strikeout Performance Against Cubs
Jesus Luzardo was in the early National League Cy Young conversation before allowing 20 earned runs on 21 hits (three homers) while walking five and striking out six in just 5 2/3 innings in his last two starts against the Milwaukee Brewers and Toronto Blue Jays. The 27-year-old southpaw was able to get back on track in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the visiting Chicago Cubs, giving up just one earned run on five hits while walking none and fanning 10 in six innings of work to pick up his sixth win of the season. It appears his last two starts were just a blip on the radar and he's now back on track after shutting down one of the best offenses in baseball in the Cubs. Luzardo remains a must-start in fantasy and has an excellent matchup next up on the docket next week against his former team, the Miami Marlins.Source: MLB.com
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Brian Callahan "Hopeful" to Have Treylon Burks Cleared for Training Camp
Treylon Burks (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from the ACL injury he suffered in Week 6 of 2024. "I think if you asked me that question at the beginning of the offseason program, he's definitely doing, probably more than I thought, which is good," said Callahan. He also noted that he's hopeful the 25-year-old will be cleared for the start of training camp. For what it's worth, he's "at about 80%." Burks hasn't developed since Tennessee selected him No. 18 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he'll deal with more competition for playing time in 2025. The Titans added a plethora of pass-catching talent this offseason, including veteran Van Jefferson and intriguing rookie wideouts Xavier Restrepo, Chimere Dike, and Elic Ayomanor.Source: Turron Davenport

Tetairoa McMillan Misses Wednesday's Practice
Tetairoa McMillan (leg) is sidelined for Wednesday's practice due to precautionary reasons. Carolina's No. 8 overall pick in April's draft reportedly collided with a defensive back near the end of Tuesday's session. Per head coach Dave Canales, the Arizona product could return for Thursday's final practice. McMillan was superb over his final two seasons as a Wildcat, posting 174 receptions, 2,721 yards, and 18 touchdowns, and makes Carolina's offense all the more exciting ahead of the 2025 season. The 22-year-old should eventually evolve into quarterback Bryce Young's go-to target, and figures to be an intriguing asset this season in fantasy if Young can sustain the gains he exhibited late last year.Source: Mike Kaye
Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer notes that Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Andrew McCutchen Hits Three-Run Homer on Wednesday
Andrew McCutchen had just one hit in Wednesday's game at PNC Park against the visiting Miami Marlins, but it was a big one. Serving as the designated hitter in the two-hole, McCutchen hit a three-run bomb off Cal Quantrill in the sixth inning. The five-time All-Star and former MVP is in the twilight of his career but remains an everyday player for the last-place Pirates. McCutchen came into Wednesday's series finale against the Fish hitting .264/.356/.393 with a decent .749 OPS, five home runs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored and a stolen base in 59 games played. The 38-year-old former first-rounder isn't going to provide much power or counting stats, but he extended his current hitting streak to five games with his sixth home run of the year on Wednesday.Source: MLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Brian Thomas Jr. Leaves Practice with Injury
Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder) is ok after leaving Wednesday's minicamp session with a shoulder injury. "He's fine. He absolutely could've gone back and played — just bruised it a little bit," said Coen. He also noted that the 22-year-old was removed for precautionary reasons and was "completely cleared to play." Jacksonville can breathe a sigh of relief that their young, stud wideout avoided significant injury. It's still something to monitor, but it fortunately doesn't sound too serious. Barring health, Thomas Jr. is in an excellent position to build off a sensational rookie season that saw him produce a WR4 finish in PPR formats. Jacksonville's addition of Travis Hunter will dent his overall target upside, but shouldn't affect his production too much. The LSU product is a strong pick at the 1/2 turn in drafts.Source: Myles Simmons
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen reports that wide receiver Walker Jenkins Swipes Two Bags in Rehab Game
Walker Jenkins (ankle) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored on Tuesday for Single-A Fort Myers. However, the notable part of the performance were the two stolen bases he recorded, which should be an attestation that the ankle injury that kept him out of action until the beginning of June has fully healed. It's unclear how long the Twins' top prospect will rehab at Single-A before moving to High-A or rejoining Double-A Wichita, but given how much time he missed, it could be another week or so. Regardless, Jenkins has one of the best hit tools in the minor leagues and should hit the ground running when he gets back to Wichita, with sights on a move to Triple-A later in the year. Jenkins has moved up to No. 6 overall on MLB.com's top prospects list, and with his ceiling, should probably already be stashed away in dynasty leagues.Source: MiLB.com

Ryan Waldschmidt Homers in Third Straight Game
Ryan Waldschmidt went 2-for-4 on Tuesday for High-A Hillsboro, walking once and homering in his third consecutive contest. The home run was a solo shot, and the 22-year-old also scored twice. The performance pushed his season-long slash line to .277/.434/.477 with nine home runs and seven steals, while his 51 runs scored lead the Northwest League and his 39 RBI are tied for the most in that category. The 31st-overall draft pick in the 2024 draft is also walking more than he's striking out, posting a 47:43 BB:K. It doesn't appear that he's overmatched at this level, so a few more weeks of hitting like this and he should be on his way to Double-A Amarillo. Source: MiLB.com
