Ryan Mountcastle Unlikely to Return Until Next Week
Ryan Mountcastle (hamstring) is eligible to return from the injured list on Wednesday, but MLB.com's Jake Rill writes that he is unlikely to return to the O's until next week's series against the Philadelphia Phillies, which starts on Monday, Aug. 4. Mountcastle has been out for almost two months with a strained right hamstring, so the Orioles would like to see him play in a few more minor-league rehab games. When the 28-year-old does finally return from the IL, he could be splitting first base duties with Coby Mayo if Ryan O'Hearn is sent packing at this week's trade deadline. If O'Hearn isn't traded, it could be more of a struggle for regular playing time for Mountcastle, who was hitting .246 (46-for-187) with only two home runs, 15 RBI and 19 runs scored before his hammy injury. Since hitting a career-high 33 bombs in 21, Mountcastle's power has declined.Source: MLB.com - Jake Rill

Grayson Rodriguez Getting Multiple Opinions on his Elbow
Grayson Rodriguez (elbow) is getting multiple opinions on his injured right elbow, but there are no further updates, according to Jake Rill of MLB.com. Rodriguez hasn't pitched at all in 2024 due to elbow and lat injuries. The Orioles are doing their due diligence on the 25-year-old, but the longer he goes without throwing, the less likely it is that he'll return to help Baltimore and fantasy managers down the stretch, especially with the team not in the hunt for a playoff spot. In a best-case scenario, Rodriguez probably wouldn't be able to join the big-league rotation for his season debut until late August or even early September. Left-hander Trevor Rogers has been the primary beneficiary in the O's rotation this year with Rodriguez sidelined and has had a nice bounce-back campaign after struggling upon his arrival to Baltimore after a trade from the Marlins last year.Source: MLB.com - Jake Rill

Dalton Kincaid Returns to Practice on Tuesday
Dalton Kincaid (knee) returned to practice on Tuesday, according to Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News. Kincaid missed practice on Monday due to left knee soreness, but it doesn't appear to be a serious issue. The former first-round pick is coming off a disappointing 2024 campaign where he played in 13 games, recording 44 catches for 448 yards and two touchdowns. Kincaid missed time due to a PCL tear in his left knee, so it's troubling that he's still dealing with discomfort in the same area. The 25-year-old has an opportunity to emerge as the number one target in an offense without much high-end receiving talent, but he'll need to prove he can be both healthy and effective for an extended stretch.Source: The Buffalo News - Katherine Fitzgerald
Buffalo Bills tight end Thanasis Antetokounmpo Added to Greece Training Camp Roster for EuroBasket 2025
Thanasis Antetokounmpo has been added to the Greek national team training camp roster to prepare for the EuroBasket 2025 tournament beginning at the end of August. Antetokounmpo didn't play professionally in 2024-25 after undergoing surgery in May 2024 to repair a torn Achilles tendon. The 33-year-old played five of his six NBA seasons in Milwaukee, winning an NBA championship in 2021 alongside his younger brother Giannis Antetokounmpo. If the older Antetokounmpo remains healthy, he will likely finish his professional playing career overseas.Source: Eurohoops.net
According to Eurohoops.net, free agent forward "Cautious Optimism" that Quinshon Judkins will Play for Browns in 2025
Quinshon Judkins will play for the Browns this season, according to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. Judkins was arrested on domestic violence charges earlier in July and remains unsigned as a result. The Browns drafted Judkins in the second round out of Ohio State, where he collected over 1,200 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns in 2024. He had been expected to compete with veteran Jerome Ford and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson for backfield touches in Cleveland, but Judkins could be facing missed time due to suspension as a result of his off-field issues. Until there's more clarity around Judkins' legal situation, fantasy managers in re-draft leagues should proceed with caution.Source: ESPN - Daniel Oyefusi

Xavier Worthy Leaves Practice on Tuesday with Head Injury
Xavier Worthy (head) "banged his head" and left the team's Tuesday practice early, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The severity of Worthy's injury is unclear, but he may be facing the NFL's concussion protocol before he can return to the practice field. As a rookie in 2024, Worthy played all 17 games for Kansas City and logged 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns. The second-year speedster is expected to take on a significant role in the Chiefs' offense once again in 2025. Kansas City has some depth at wide receiver between Worthy, Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and rookie Jalen Royals. However, Rice may be facing an early-season suspension, and Brown is nursing an ankle injury.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Brenton Doyle Returns From Shoulder Injury
Brenton Doyle (shoulder) returned to the lineup for the series opener on Monday in Cleveland against the Guardians after missing four games with a sore right shoulder, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. Doyle suffered the injury making a diving catch last Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals and then aggravated the injury on a slide into home plate later in the game. The 27-year-old has hit just .216 with seven homers and 31 RBI in a disappointing season, and his shoulder injury came in the midst of one of his most productive stretches -- he went 8-for-17 (.471) during a five-game stretch. Fantasy managers have been left wondering what has happened after Doyle hit .260/.317/.446 with 23 homers, 30 steals and 72 RBI in a breakout 2024 campaign. A quad injury early in the year and time on the bereavement list stalled what had been a hot start.Source: MLB.com - Thomas Harding
Colorado Rockies outfielder Luis Gil Could Make Season Debut on Sunday
Luis Gil (lat) is expected to throw 75 pitches in his minor-league rehab start on Tuesday, and if all goes well, he'll be lined up to make his first major-league start on Sunday in Miami against the Marlins. Tuesday will be Gil's fourth rehab start, and potentially his last if everything goes well. The 27-year-old should be picked up in fantasy leagues if he's floating around the waiver wire after winning the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2024. He has been out all season in 2025 due to a strained right lat and has posted a 7.20 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 17 strikeouts and six walks in 10 innings in his three rehab starts with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. While Gil can help down the stretch, fantasy managers also shouldn't expect him to be as good as he was in 2024.Source: Talkin' Yanks
New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone told Talkin' Yankees that right-hander Tyler Warren Getting Rushing Work in Practice
Tyler Warren took simulated handoffs from the fullback spot during positional drills at the team's Tuesday practice, according to Noah Compton of The Blue Stable Podcast. In his final collegiate season at Penn State, Warren recorded 26 carries for 218 yards and four touchdowns. His primary impact was as a receiver (104 catches for 1,233 yards), and that should continue in the NFL, but it's noteworthy that the Colts coaching staff is open to using Warren out of the backfield. Given that Indianapolis used their first-round selection in this year's draft on Warren, he should be a significant part of their offensive plan of attack. He profiles as a low-end TE1 for re-draft fantasy leagues in 2025, but that could change if he gets real work as a rusher, particularly around the goal line.Source: The Blue Stable Podcast - Noah Compton

Patrick Baldwin Jr. Waived by Clippers
Patrick Baldwin Jr. on Monday. Baldwin joined the Clippers after agreeing to a two-way contract in March. However, he was released to open a roster spot for Jordan Miller, who signed a two-way deal with the Clippers on Saturday. Baldwin played in 22 games with the Wizards and just two in Los Angeles after he was claimed off waivers near the end of the 2024-25 campaign. He saw limited playing time in the NBA last year, but the 22-year-old had a solid season in the G League, averaging 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers, 2.4 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals during 32.0 minutes per game in over 23 appearances.Source: Law Murray

Josh Green May Not be Ready for Start of Hornets Training Camp
Josh Green (shoulder) may not be ready for the start of training camp. Green is still recovering from shoulder surgery last month to address instability in his left shoulder. According to Boone, there is "no definitive work on his recovery timetable," likely meaning that the 24-year-old could be missing in action once the upcoming regular season begins. During his first campaign in Charlotte, he finished with averages of 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest across 68 games. Once Green is available, he may be less involved in the Hornets' offence than in 2024-25, especially if LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (wrist) can remain healthy.Source: Roderick Boone

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Getting Work With First-Team Offense
Jacory Croskey-Merritt is getting reps with quarterback Jayden Daniels and the first-team offense in the no-huddle session during Tuesday's training camp practice. It's something worth watching for the 245th overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft back in April. The 24-year-old had 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2023 at New Mexico but then ran into eligibility issues in 2024 after transferring to Arizona and played in one game. It's the reason why he fell to the final round of the draft, although he does have some intrigue as a between-the-tackles bruiser. As long as Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. are healthy, Croskey-Merritt figures to compete the No. 3 change-of-pace role with Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can likely ignore him.Source: Couch GM

Travis Etienne Jr. the Focus of the Day on Tuesday
Travis Etienne Jr. was seemingly the focus of the day in the backfield on Tuesday, getting plenty of work and busting a few impressive runs, according to SI.com's John Shipley. Meanwhile, Shipley says that fellow RB Tank Bigsby continued his strong training camp and made it to the second level of the defense a few times. Most folks are expecting Bigsby to take over Jacksonville's backfield in 2025 after running for a career-low 558 yards and two touchdowns in 15 starts in 2024 after going over the 1,000-yard rushing mark in his first two seasons. That could very well be the case, but Etienne also isn't going away anytime soon as long as he remains with the Jags. The former first-rounder should be a better scheme fit in head coach Liam Coen's offense, but the presence of Bigsby also probably caps his fantasy upside as an RB3/flex.Source: SI.com - John Shipley
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Jets Sign Nick Folk
Nick Folk to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to head coach Aaron Glenn. The Jets waived kicker Caden Davis on Tuesday, so Folk's primary competition for the kicking job in New York will be UFL standout Harrison Mevis. The 40-year-old Folk will reunite with the Jets after kicking for them from 2010 to 2016. He spent the last two years with the Tennessee Titans and went 21-for-22 on his field-goal tries while making all 25 of his extra-point attempts in 14 games in 2024. As long as Folk doesn't really struggle or get injured in training camp and the preseason in his return to the Jets, he should be the favorite to win the job over Mevis. Heading into his 18th NFL season, Folk has a career 84.3% success rate on 479 field-goal attempts, including going 47-for-70 from 50-plus yards.Source: The Athletic - Zack Rosenblatt
The New York Jets signed free-agent kicker MarShawn Lloyd Dealing With Groin Injury
MarShawn Lloyd (groin) suffered a groin injury in Monday's training camp practice and is not practicing on Tuesday, as expected. There was some worry when the Packers described Lloyd's injury as non-contact, and while he still could miss some time, at least it's not a non-contact knee injury. The 24-year-old only played in one game in 2024 in his rookie campaign, though, due to hip, hamstring, ankle and appendix issues. Another injury in training camp in his sophomore season isn't good news for the oft-injured back, but he could be ready to go for the start of the 2025 season. If Lloyd misses more time, it will give extra opportunities to both Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks behind RB1 Josh Jacobs in training camp.Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman
The Athletic's Matt Schneidman reports that Green Bay Packers running back Easton Lucas Called Up to Start Game 1 of Doubleheader
Easton Lucas has been called up from Triple-A Buffalo to make the start on Tuesday in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. This will be Lucas' fifth start for the Blue Jays and his first appearance in the big leagues since late May. The 28-year-old southpaw has allowed 14 earned runs on 21 hits (five homers) while walking 10 and striking out 22 in 21 2/3 innings over five outings (four starts). Lucas also has an ERA over 5.00 at Buffalo and will be pitching on Tuesday on just three days of rest, so we would advise fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for a streamer to avoid him. After Lucas makes the spot start for Toronto against the O's, he'll most likely head back to the minors.Source: Sportsnet.ca - Ben Nicholson-Smith
Toronto Blue Jays left-hander George Springer Out for Game 1 of Doubleheader
George Springer (head) is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Davis Schneider is serving as the designated hitter and will bat second against Orioles right-hander Charlie Morton. Springer was hit in the head by a pitch in Monday's series opener and was pulled from the game. It's unclear if the 35-year-old is in the league's concussion protocol or if he'll be available for the second game of the double dip, so fantasy managers will need to check back for an update soon. Toronto can ill-afford to lose Springer for an extended period of time, as he's been one of their best spark plugs on offense in a resurgent 2025 season, slashing .291/.383/.506 with an .889 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI, 66 runs and 12 stolen bases in 344 at-bats.Source: MLB.com
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Luke Clanton Looking For Spark Since Turning Pro at Wyndham Championship
Source: PGA Tour
It's been a struggle out of the gate for Luke Clanton, who is making his seventh start since turning pro in June. The flat stick has let him down, as he's averaging -0.593 strokes gained putting over the six previous starts. The ball striking is still staying fairly positive, though, so it isn't like the 21-year-old is that far off from returning to the form that intrigued us last season. We are at Sedgefield Country Club this week, where he finished 5th last season, when a third-round 62 let the golfing world know what the kid from FSU was capable of. Even with his recent struggles, Clanton still averages a 17.71% birdie or better rate on par 4s and ranks somewhere in the top 45 range of strokes gained tee to green (+0.484). He could be an exciting name to watch come Thursday.Keegan Bradley the Only Top-10 Player in World Rankings at Wyndham Championship
Source: PGA Tour
As the commanding leader of this year's U.S. Ryder Cup Team, Keegan Bradley is making the start this week in Greensboro, where he otherwise would likely skip given his place in both the FedEx Cup race and world ranking. However, he is here to compete nonetheless. Accuracy both on approach and off the tee has been what's given the 39-year-old such staying power. He's never played particularly well at Sedgefield in three career starts, though faulty approach play has thwarted likely chances. That area has become a strength, ranking 33rd on the season in strokes gained on approach (+0.398). The ceiling is a bit unpredictable, but the floor is solid enough to warrant consideration.Braelon Allen Held Out of Tuesday's Practice
Braelon Allen (knee) is battling knee soreness and will be re-evaluated before the team's practice on Thursday, according to Andy Vasquez of NJ Advance Media. The second-year back served as the backup to Breece Hall last season, rushing for 334 yards and two touchdowns on 92 carries as a rookie. While Allen is still projected to be behind Hall on the Jets' RB depth chart, early reports have indicated that New York plans for a more committee-style backfield in 2025. At 235 lbs., Allen could be the primary goal-line and short-yardage back for the Jets this season, putting him in a position to potentially lead the backfield in rushing touchdowns. While this injury doesn't seem particularly serious, it's worth monitoring to see how much practice time it causes Allen to miss. With a new coaching staff in place for the Jets this year, every preseason rep will be valuable for Allen to build trust.Source: NJ Advance Media - Andy Vasquez
New York Jets running back Jordan Mason Viewed as "Complete Back" by Vikings
Jordan Mason by signing him to a two-year contract worth $10.5 million this past offseason. According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, Mason's playing time split with incumbent running back Aaron Jones will be "much closer" to 50-50 than previous RB1/RB2 splits in Minnesota under head coach Kevin O'Connell. In 12 games for the San Francisco 49ers last season, Mason logged 153 carries for 789 yards and three touchdowns. He wasn't utilized much as a receiver (11 catches), but Vikings offensive coordinator reportedly referred to him as a "natural catching the ball." If Minnesota views Mason as a three-down back, he could be in a fairly even time share with the 30-year-old Jones, whom O'Connell has spoken openly about reducing the workload for. Now might be the time for fantasy managers to invest in Mason, as more buzz about his usage could send him rocketing up draft boards.Source: ESPN - Kevin Seifert
The Minnesota Vikings made a sizable investment in running back Malik Nabers Leaves Practice With Shoulder Injury
Malik Nabers (shoulder) walked off the field from Tuesday's practice with the team's head trainer, according to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post. Schwartz reports that Nabers "might have tweaked his shoulder blocking on a running play." The severity of this injury is unclear at this point, but any significant missed time for Nabers would be a major concern for New York. The second-year wide receiver recorded 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games as a rookie in 2024. Nabers is the undisputed top weapon in the Giants' offense and profiles as a first-round fantasy selection in PPR leagues, provided he is healthy for the start of the regular season. UPDATE: The Giants believe that Nabers avoided a serious injury after leaving Tuesday's practice.Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz
New York Giants wide receiver
