School is out, summer is here, and the weather has surely let us know that. Just as the weather heats up, so do our fantasy baseball standings. This is the time of year when a lot of us go on vacations, and sometimes our fantasy teams could take a back seat. If your team is […]

This past week, I made a trade in one of my leagues. I traded Yoshinobu Yamamoto for Adolis Garcia and Ryan O'Hearn in a redraft league. When I told a few people of the trade I made, they thought that I overpaid for the hitters. Trades should not be looked at in a vacuum and […]

One of the things I noticed when compiling this week's list of injured players is the number of injuries related to the oblique muscle. Also known as "side pain/discomfort," this muscle is located on both sides of our bodies, basically between the hip and the armpit. They are also close to the lower abdomen as […]

This past week has not been a good week for pitchers and injuries. It seems like pitchers were getting hurt more often than position players. In general, pitchers have a higher landing rate on the IL than hitters. The question is how to deal with it, and that is an overall strategy question/answer and not […]

Memorial Day has come and gone. We are at the part of the MLB season when flukes are no longer flukes, and slumps are not just considered short-term things. Only so long could a player be overachieving or failing to meet his own historical standards. This is also the time when our fantasy standards start […]

As the baseball season rolls along, players are added to and taken off the IL. Sometimes, players are added to the IL rather quickly, while others take a few days to try to "get over" the issue without landing on the IL. Usually, starting pitchers go on the IL quickly, while hitters and relief pitchers […]

The fantasy season is now more than six weeks old. What we think as maybe a short-term deficiency on our rosters may be long-term issues. Benching underperforming players and picking up players who are hot is one way to try to help your team. Another way to help your roster is to consider making some […]

Just when it looked like we were having some good luck with injured fantasy baseball players, another wave of injured players has cropped up. After a week when a lot of injured players returned from injury, some of the bigger-name players have now made their way onto the injured list. The question now is how […]

When writing this article every week, I get to see the ebb and flow of injuries around Major League Baseball. The last two weeks were heavy with injuries, and this past week and next hope to offer many players returning from injury. There is one major correlation I see with this trend, and that is […]

Recently, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said that he was going to have to make tough decisions. Those tough decisions have to be made because he has both Jeff McNeil and Francisco Alvarez coming off the IL soon. His tough decision involves having to send players down to the minors and these players happen to be […]

As the weather warms up, so does baseball season. We are starting to see who will be the breakthrough players this year and who will slump. This is also the time of year when fantasy owners start to lose patience with their mid-round draft picks from draft season and want to bench or drop players. […]

What a difference a week makes! How the injuries have piled up so quickly around Major League Baseball. The cold weather and players possibly pushing themselves too hard, too early in the season, may play into this trend. The worst type of injured player is the one who gets added to the IL on Monday […]

One week of the baseball season is in the books. It is great to have meaningful baseball back, and we get to see how our drafting skills start to pay off. It is only a week into the season, but there are some big names scuffling at their positions (Rafael Devers, Francisco Lindor) while others […]

Opening day has just passed us by as teams continue to open their new seasons. All teams have not yet had home openers, and with those openers comes the hope of a great season. Rosters have been named with some young players making it, while others have not. Some injured players are also back, while […]

Spring training is well underway as we move forward to Opening Day. With the season opening overseas in about a week, team rosters are taking form, as are the winners of position battles on certain teams. One aspect that is just as true midseason as it is now is the effect of injuries on teams' […]

Well, we have made it to the last week of the season. If your playoffs have finished, congratulations on getting through a 26 week, 6 month, 150+ game season. If your league champion has not yet been crowned, good luck to those of you still in the running. If you are still in the running […]

With only two waiver wire pickups left in the fantasy baseball season, now is the time to act desperate. Spend all of your FAAB money and make aggressive bids to get who you want to block other teams from their first choices on the waiver wire. As we hear of players getting injured from now […]

With only three waiver wires left this fantasy baseball season, what are you waiting for? If you have any FAAB money left and are in a redraft league, use it or lose it. But be smart about how you use it. Make sure, if you are in the playoffs and trying to catch the leaders […]

Labor Day weekend is here. This is the time of the year in the fantasy baseball season when we can see the fruits of our labor for the past five months come to fruition or not. There is one month left to the season, and if you are still on the hunt, there is still […]

This past week, I did something in one of my fantasy leagues that I have never done before. I picked up a 2-start pitcher, Martin Perez, to NOT play him. I picked him up so other teams in my league could not get him, and the possibility of teams chasing me, getting two wins this […]

There are only six weeks left in the fantasy baseball regular season. For some, it is less because of playoffs. This means that there is only a handful of waiver wire pickups to acquire from now until the end of the year. This is also the time of year when we start hearing that some […]

As preseason football kicks off, this is the time of year when fantasy baseball players start to tune out. If a fantasy player is not doing well in his or her league, they may start to turn their full attention to fantasy football. Is this the correct thing to do- just stop actively playing fantasy […]

The trade deadline has come and gone. Newly acquired players and players remaining on their teams are getting to know what their roles are for the rest of the season. There are only two months left for the baseball season and two months left for you to be able to claim victory in your fantasy […]

This past week, Ozzie Albies injured his left wrist. After testing, it showed that he fractured his left wrist. The Braves put him on the IL and gave him a timeline of about eight weeks to return. The normal time to return from this type of injury is anywhere between six to eight weeks. The […]

As we begin the second half of the baseball season, now is the time to make the tough decisions. Injured players may be stashed on your bench, taking up precious roster spots and maneuverability. When dealing with these players this late in the year, there is one thing that you should be thinking about- how […]

We have made it to All Star Weekend. The half point of the season has just passed. This upcoming week, there will be a flurry of moves being made. The trade deadline is a little more than two weeks away. Injured players will start returning from the IL starting next Friday. But more importantly, lots […]

The July 4th celebrations are now in our rearview mirrors. But that does not mean that the fireworks for the baseball season are over. This is the time of year that the All-Stars are announced, and we get to celebrate this year's best during the Mid-Summer Classic. This is the time of year when injured […]

This past week, I celebrated a birthday, and it got me thinking: I have been playing fantasy baseball for almost twenty years at this point. Is there anything that could be learned about injuries when it comes to managing your roster? The answer to the question is an easy one: the timelines that are given […]

This past week, we saw a lot of marquee names go on the injured list. Big names going down from teams that are in the pennant race are a big deal. The question that fans of these teams always ask is how they will replace these All-Star caliber players. The answer to this is that […]

We are now in the middle of June, as the year and baseball season continues its march to the postseason. As we get closer to the warmer months of the summer, the types of injuries we will see may change. The warmer weather makes players more prone to cramping up and muscle injuries. These injuries […]
