Luke Williams Placed on Injured List with Oblique Strain
Luke Williams (oblique) on the injured list on Thursday with a strained left oblique. The severity of the injury is not yet known. Williams has not had a plate appearance since August 9. The 29-year-old was slashing .103/.156/.172 with two extra-base hits, five RBI, five runs scored, and four stolen bases in 32 plate appearances this season. More notably, Williams was used by the Braves as a mop-up position player/pitcher out of the bullpen, pitching in six games. Over those six games, he threw six innings, had a 3.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and four strikeouts.
