John Keim of ESPN.com reports that defensive end Clelin Ferrell is re-signing with the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal. The details of the contract have yet to be disclosed. Ferrell started ten games for the team last season. However, toward the end of the year, he was downgraded to a reserve player, which continued into the playoffs. The 27-year-old, a former first-round pick, registered 26 tackles and 3.5 sacks -- one off his career-high. He was the team's third-leading snap-getter on the edge in 2024. Ferrell is known more for his prowess as a run-stopper than the traditional pass-rushing specialist that a defensive end typically presents as. He projects to serve as a rotational piece on the team's defensive front once again in 2025.--Alex Ciulla

The Washington Commanders are re-signing veteran defensive tackle Sheldon Day, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 30-year-old is back with Washington on a one-year deal after totaling 24 tackles (12 solo), one pass deflection, and 5.5 run stuffs in 12 games a season ago. Day was a 2016 fourth-round pick out of Notre Dame by the Jacksonville Jaguars and has appeared in 85 games for six organizations. He played a significant role for Washington when Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, who is now with the Minnesota Vikings, was forced to miss significant time last year due to a torn pectoral.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

The Washington Commanders are re-signing veteran wide receiver K.J. Osborn, according to team reporter John Keim. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers by Washington in November following his release by the New England Patriots and appeared in one game for the Commanders. The 2020 fifth-round pick out of Miami by the Minnesota Vikings has collected 165 receptions for 1,902 yards and 16 touchdowns in 66 career games. Washington also re-signed wideout Noah Brown and traded for Pro Bowler Deebo Samuel Sr. this offseason, so it's tough to expect Osborn to have any fantasy value in 2025.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Free-agent wide receiver Noah Brown (kidney) is re-signing with the Washington Commanders on Thursday on a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Brown, who caught the Hail Mary touchdown pass in the wild win over the Chicago Bears during the 2024 regular season, caught 35 of his 56 targets for 453 yards and one touchdown in 11 regular-season games (nine starts) in his first year in D.C. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old suffered a kidney laceration late in the year and finished the season on Injured Reserve. He should be all healed up for the start of the 2025 season this fall, though, and will give the Commanders additional receiving depth behind top wideouts Terry McLaurin and newcomer Deebo Samuel Sr. While Brown did have a bigger role on offense right before his injury, he'll have a limited fantasy ceiling as the No. 3 as long as both McLaurin and Samuel stay healthy.--Keith Hernandez

Veteran free-agent quarterback Marcus Mariota is signing a one-year deal to return to the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans spent last season with Washington and primarily backed up Jayden Daniels. Mariota threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in three games a season ago. While Mariota clearly has no path to the starting job, he will be on the fantasy football radar in deep Superflex or two-QB leagues as a deep bench stash. Should Daniels have to miss any time next season, Mariota would have at least low-end QB2 upside playing with wideouts Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. along with tight end Zach Ertz in Kliff Kingsbury's offense.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

The Washington Commanders agreed to terms with free-agent safety Will Harris on a two-year, $8 million deal on Tuesday, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The deal has a maximum value of $10 million. The former third-round pick (81st overall) by the Detroit Lions in 2019 out of Boston College will head to the NFC East after spending the 2024 campaign with the New Orleans Saints. Harris started 13 games a year ago and finished with 74 tackles (54 solo), an interception and five pass breakups. He will bring some experience to a young Washington secondary and will help make up for the loss of safety Jeremy Chinn, who joined the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency. In his six NFL seasons, Harris has a total of 320 tackles (228 solo), 1.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, three interceptions, 19 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 94 games (53 stars).--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders are re-signing running back Jeremy McNichols to an undisclosed one-year deal on Tuesday, a source tells ESPN's John Keim. Although McNichols wasn't on the fantasy radar at all last year in his first year in D.C., he was a valuable member of the team's RB room as a backup for his blitz pickups while also contributing a career-high 267 rushing yards and a career-high four rushing touchdowns on 55 carries over 17 regular-season games (one start). He also had nine catches for 27 yards and added nine yards and a touchdown on five carries in three playoff games. With both Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler returning to the Commanders' backfield in 2025, McNichols will open the year as the No. 3 RB and will have a bigger role on special teams as a return man. The 29-year-old has only 625 rushing yards and five rushing TDs on 145 carries over seven NFL seasons.--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders are bringing in free-agent wide receiver Michael Gallup for a visit this week. Gallup was released by the Dallas Cowboys last offseason and signed a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. He didn't last long in Las Vegas before deciding to retire from the NFL. His play has declined since suffering a torn ACL in 2021, which was likely a big factor as to why he decided to hang it up. Now, Gallup is attempting a come back and will see if the Commanders are a potential fit for him. Wherever he lands, Gallup will most likely just be a depth player and probably won't be someone worth snagging on draft day.--Andy Webb

The Washington Commanders signed free-agent defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw to a three-year, $45 million deal on Monday that includes $30 million guaranteed, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Kinlaw moves to the NFC East after spending last year with the New York Jets, where he posted career-highs in tackles (40) and sacks (4.5) while recording five tackles for loss, five QB hits, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 17 starts for Gang Green. The 27-year-old will slot in inside on Washington's defensive line alongside Daron Payne and Jer'Zhan Newton. Kinlaw was the 14th overall selection in the 2020 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers out of South Carolina. He's never been on the IDP radar with 9.5 career sacks in five NFL seasons, but he'll provide experience and depth on the interior in 2025 and beyond for the Commanders' D-line.--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders acquired five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil and a fourth-round draft pick from the Houston Texans on Monday in exchange for future second- and fourth-rounders and a third-round pick this year, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a blockbuster trade that will only help in the development of second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels, who looked excellent in his rookie season in 2024 and led the Commanders to an appearances in the NFC Championship. The 30-year-old Tunsil has been one of the most reliable left tackles in the league and will provide stability on Daniels' blind side heading into the 2025 campaign. Tunsil was the 13th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2016 out of Mississippi. All five of his Pro Bowl seasons have come in the last six years while in Houston.--Keith Hernandez

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms on a one-year, $10 million contract worth up to $12 million with former Washington Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The 2021 third-round pick out of North Carolina caught fewer than 15 passes and posted fewer than 200 years in each of his first three NFL seasons, but he emerged in 2024 in his final season with Washington. Brown posted 30 receptions for 308 yards and one touchdown during the regular season before tallying 14 receptions for 229 yards and a score in three postseason games. He's now headed to Duval County to catch passes from Trevor Lawrence, but his fantasy football upside is likely limited behind Brian Thomas Jr. The team will likely look to add more pass-catchers this offseason after letting Christian Kirk and Evan Engram go.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

The Washington Commanders are one of many NFL teams exploring a potential trade for Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson, sources tell The Athletic's Dianna Russini. The Bengals granted Hendrickson permission to seek a trade last Thursday as he seeks a long-term contract extension as he heads into the final year of his deal in 2025. An NFL executive said the Bengals are looking for "significant trade compensation in return." The 30-year-old veteran led the league with 17.5 sacks last year and also recorded 17.5 sacks in 2023, so it's certainly going to take a lot to pry him away from the Bengals. Cincy would love to sign Hendrickson to a long-term extension, but they are also trying to do the same with both star receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Washington has plenty of salary cap space this year and is expected to make a splash on the defensive side of the ball.--Keith Hernandez

Veteran tight end Zach Ertz signed a one-year, $6.25 million contract with the Washington Commanders on Saturday. The deal includes up to $9 million in incentives. Ertz returns to the Commanders after a productive season in 2024 as quarterback Jayden Daniels' safety valve, owning 18% of Washington's target share. The three-time Pro Bowler caught 66 of 91 targets for 674 yards and seven touchdowns over 17 games. It was the first time since 2018 that Ertz played an entire season. With the Commanders trading for wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. in March, Ertz will have more competition for targets in 2025. Despite competing for targets with Terry McLaurin and Samuel, Ertz remains a decent fantasy option in the tight end position. As Daniels' primary middle-of-the-field option, Ertz is a high-end TE2 heading into early best-ball drafts.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Washington Commanders informed two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen on Friday that he is being released, according to sources. Allen will hit the free-agent market a bit early and will immediately become one of the top interior defensive linemen available. This move doesn't come as much of a surprise, especially after the Commanders gave the 30-year-old veteran permission to seek a trade last week. The former 17th overall pick by Washington in 2017 out of Alabama was entering the final year of his deal with a $15.5 million base salary and no more guaranteed money. The move to cut Allen saves the Commanders $16.3 million in 2025 salary cap space. Allen missed nine games with a torn left pectoral muscle last year but played the final two regular-season games and all three playoff games. He finishes his eight-year career in D.C. with 42 sacks in 108 starts.--Keith Hernandez

The Washington Commanders re-signed standout linebacker Bobby Wagner to a one-year deal worth up to $9.5 million on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal contains $8 million guaranteed. Wagner, a 10-time Pro Bowler and six-time first-team All-Pro, represented himself on the deal. In his first year in D.C. in 2024, the 34-year-old veteran continued to be a playmaker, recording 132 tackles (75 solo), two sacks, 10 tackles for loss, eight QB hits, four pass breakups, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 17 regular-season starts. While his 132 combined tackles were his fewest in a season since 2015, Wagner was still a key player for the Commanders and remained fantasy relevant in IDP formats. Wagner isn't a top-end fantasy linebacker anymore but he still finished at No. 18 at his position in 2024.--Keith Hernandez
