Ben Sinnott Standing Out This Offseason
Ben Sinnott has stood out during offseason practices, according to head coach Dan Quinn. The Commanders selected Sinnott in the second round (53rd overall) in last year's draft out of Kansas State, but he was buried on the depth chart all year and caught only five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown in 17 regular-season games (two starts) in his first year in the NFL. The 22-year-old may be standing out this offseason, but he'll have a long way to go to find a bigger role in Washington's passing attack as long as veteran TE Zach Ertz stays healthy. There's also John Bates to contend with if Ertz were to miss any time. Sinnott does have the size and speed to be worth watching if he does get a bigger opportunity, but for now, he's off the radar in standard-sized fantasy leagues.

Noah Brown Carted Off the Field on Wednesday
Noah Brown (undisclosed) was carted off the field during mandatory minicamp practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, according to The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala. Brown was able to walk off the field slowly under his own power before being carted to the locker room, but it's unclear what the severity of his injury is at this moment. The 29-year-old pass-catcher caught 35 of his 56 targets for 453 yards and one touchdown in 11 games (nine starts) in his first year with Washington last year and figures to open the 2025 campaign as the WR3 behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. if he's fully healthy. Unfortunately, that role isn't going to make the former seventh-rounder (239th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 fantasy relevant in standard 12-team fantasy leagues.

Terry McLaurin Not Attending Mandatory Minicamp
Terry McLaurin is not attending mandatory minicamp this week, reports FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. McLaurin has made it clear to the team that he's not happy with the lack of progress on a long-term deal and also left voluntary workouts last week unexpectedly after initially attending OTAs. The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his three-year, $68.2 million deal and is coming off his fifth straight 1,000-yard receiving season in which he also had a career-high 13 touchdowns in 17 regular-season starts as quarterback Jayden Daniels' top target. The Daniels McLaurin pairing should continue to produce, but fantasy managers will want to expect touchdown regression, and the addition of Deebo Samuel Sr. could also change the dynamic of Washington's offense. Target McLaurin as a high-end WR2 in fantasy this fall.

Terry McLaurin Frustrated With Extension Talks, Leaves Voluntary Workouts
Terry McLaurin has made it clear to the team that he's frustrated with the lack of progress on a potential long-term contract extension, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. After initially attending voluntary organized team activities, McLaurin unexpectedly left the workouts, and it remains to be seen whether he'll report for mandatory minicamp this month. Talks have been minimal on an extension with the 29-year-old heading into the final year of his three-year, $68.2 million contract. Schultz write that it's a surprise that Washington hasn't prioritized a new deal for McLaurin so that he can continue developing chemistry with second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels. McLaurin's fantasy stock is on the rise after an 82-1,096-13 line in 17 regular-season games with Daniels in 2024, but a lengthy holdout could negatively impact his start to the 2025 campaign. Stay tuned.

Commanders Expect Jayden Daniels to be Better in 2025
Jayden Daniels immediately established himself as one of the NFL's top QBs in his first season in the league in 2024, but the Commanders expect him to be even better in his sophomore season. "Just watching him move around, he's not thinking as much, he's playing fast and letting his natural gifts kind of take over, and that's what we want to see. I expect him to take a big jump," offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said. The second overall pick was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushing for another 891 yards and six touchdowns while leading the team to a 12-5 record and an appearance in the NFC Championship game. Washington bolstered their offensive line in front of Daniels this offseason and added receiver Deebo Samuel Jr. Daniels will be a top-five fantasy QB in upcoming drafts.

Brian Robinson Jr. "Focused" Ahead of 2025
Brian Robinson Jr.'s focus this offseason has been "great." "Yeah, he's been really focused," said Kingsbury. "B-Rob's a guy who has played an incredibly high level....He knows what this year means to him and can mean to us when he plays at that level." The Commanders invested in their offense heavily this offseason -- fortifying their offensive front and the weapons around budding superstar Jayden Daniels. However, the running back room went essentially unchanged aside from the addition of seventh-round teammate Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Backfield mate Austin Ekeler will siphon away some touches, but the Alabama product should receive strong volume this season. It will be interesting to see how the team deploys Deebo Samuel Sr., but if he doesn't absorb too many carries, Robinson Jr. should provide decent value.

Terry McLaurin Absent for Final OTA Session
Terry McLaurin was absent for voluntary organized team activities this week, according to The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala. The All-Pro wideout had been a full participant previously but is entering the final year of his three-year, $68.2 million contract that he signed in 2022. The 29-year-old is coming off a huge season in 2024 in which he caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns in 17 regular-season games, so he's most likely angling for a new contract. General manager Adam Peters said in March that the organization would likely to work something out with McLaurin before the start of the 2025 regular season, but it remains to be seen if it will actually happen. TD regression is expected for McLaurin, and Deebo Samuel Sr. will take some targets away, but he will be a fine WR2 target going into fantasy drafts this fall.

Jayden Daniels Puts on Some Weight
Jayden Daniels has some put on some weight this offseason. "I'm sure he's a little thicker than he was," Kingsbury said. There was no mandate from the team for Daniels to bulk up after an impressive rookie season in which the 24-year-old threw for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 17 regular-season starts while leading the team to an NFC Championship appearance. Despite putting on some good weight, fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried that it will negatively affect Daniels' scrambling abilities after he rushed for 891 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season in 2024. After his big rookie season, Daniels has vaulted quickly into top-five status among QBs in fantasy.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt a Late-Round Rookie Sleeper?
Jacory Croskey-Merritt is a potential sleeper to watch during the team's offseason activities, according to Ben Standig of The Athletic. "A back-end roster player who could garner significant attention in the offseason: Jacory Croskey-Merritt," Standig wrote. "The 5-foot-11, 208-pounder has the goods to get there despite sitting out nearly the entire 2024 college season with eligibility issues. If Kingsbury falls for this competitive runner's one-cut burst, there could be a running back room shake-up." The seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft spent the first four seasons of his collegiate career at Alabama State before a breakout season at New Mexico, where he rushed 189 times for 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2024 at Arizona, he rushed 13 times for 106 yards and one score in one game appearance. While Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler remain penciled in as the RB1 and RB2 for Washington, it sounds like Croskey-Merritt is a name worth monitoring later in the offseason. If he makes the roster, he could be worth stashing in deeper redraft and dynasty leagues. Last season, third-string running back Jeremy McNichols popped up on the fantasy radar, so anything is possible.

Terry McLaurin Absent from Wednesday's Practice
Terry McLaurin was not at Wednesday's practice, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The 29-year-old has been a full participant in offseason workouts before this absence, but this is a situation to monitor as he heads into the final year of his contract. McLaurin's contract ranks 16th among wideouts in average salary ($23.2 million), and he could be looking for long-term security with a pay bump toward the top of the position after an 82-catch, 1,096-yard, 13-touchdown season in 2024. The former third-round pick has tallied five consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns and is finally playing with a high-level quarterback in rising sophomore Jayden Daniels. Fantasy managers should expect any issues to be resolved ahead of this season, and McLaurin has WR1 upside in Washington's explosive offense.

Tyre Phillips Signs With Commanders
Per the team, the Washington Commanders have signed free agent offensive lineman Tyre Phillips to an undisclosed contract. The Mississippi State product spent his first two seasons in Baltimore when the organization selected him in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He started 13 of 22 games as a Raven. After bouncing around between the Giants' and Eagles' practice squads over the prior three years, Phillips will continue his tenure in the NFC East as a member of the Commanders. The 28-year-old has generally graded as a better pass-blocker than run-blocker throughout his career, and stands to serve as a depth piece on Washington's offensive front. The Commanders have added six offensive linemen in free agency, and spent their first-round pick on tackle Josh Conerly Jr. out of Oregon, shoring up their protection in front of second-year signal-callerWashington D.C. Matt Gays Signs One-Year Deal With Commanders
Matt Gay signed a one-year deal worth over $4.25 million fully guaranteed with the Washington Commanders on Tuesday, according to his agents. It's the most fully guaranteed money for a kicker on a one-year deal in NFL history. Gay can earn up to $5 million with reachable incentives in 2025 in D.C. In a corresponding move, the Commanders are releasing kicker Zane Gonzalez. In a Commanders offense that ranked fifth in the NFL in points per game (28.5), Gay should immediately be in play as a lower-end fantasy kicking option for the 2025 season. The 31-year-old booter went 31-for-37 (83.8%) on his field-goal tries in 16 games with the Indianapolis Colts last year, but he made just three of nine attempts from 50-plus yards out. He was a perfect 33-for-33 on extra points and has made 85.5% of his 193 career field-goal attempts in six years in the NFL.
