2 years agoFree-agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is planning to visit the New England Patriots on Thursday, and there's optimism the two sides can find a way to reach an agreement, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. It's unclear how much it will take to sign Hopkins, but the Patriots do have around $14.2 million in salary cap space. ESPN's Dianna Russini reports that Hopkins' and offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien's past relationship in Houston won't be an issue at all and there is no animosity there. Head coach Bill Belichick places a lot of emphasis on practice, but Hopkins' practice schedule has waned in recent years. If they do land him, he'll become quarterback Mac Jones' new top target and will be in play as a top-25 fantasy wideout.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
