Jonathan Huberdeau Begins Season on Injured Reserve
Calgary Flames left wing Jonathan Huberdeau (undisclosed) has been placed on Injured Reserve ahead of Wednesday's season opener against the Edmonton Oilers. This makes him unavailable for the game. However, Huberdeau is eligible to return to the lineup for Thursday's clash with the Vancouver Canucks. Huberdeau is nursing an undisclosed injury after colliding with Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen in a preseason game. Huberdeau's absence is set to give Joel Farabee a first-line role on opening night. Farabee struggled massively last season but has seen offensive success in the league. Only two seasons ago, Farabee had 22 goals and 50 points with the Philadelphia Flyers.
