Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (strain) has been placed on Injured Reserve. Earlier this month, it was reported that Power was dealing with a "minor strain." The injury appears serious enough to potentially affect Power's availability for the beginning of the season. Michael Kesselring (undisclosed) is also struggling with an injury, meaning Rasmus Dahlin and Bowen Byram need to be prepared to carry a heavy load in the first few games. Buffalo has five contests scheduled for the first two weeks of regular-season action, starting with Thursday's matchup against the New York Rangers.--Taavi Pailk
