Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil (undisclosed) was placed on Injured Reserve on Monday, making him ineligible for the start of the season. The Flame begin their campaign on Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. Pospisil was injured in a preseason contest against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 1. He was able to practice the next day but was hurt during the session. Calgary will also be without Jonathan Huberdeau (undisclosed) on Wednesday. As a result of the absences, Joel Farabee is expected to begin the season on the first line, and Matvei Gridin is also set to receive a big opportunity in a top-six role.--Taavi Pailk
