Colorado Avalanche right wing Martin Necas bagged two goals in Tuesday's season-opening 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The Czech forward opened the scoring early in the second period and potted a power-play goal in the middle of the third. Necas (13 goals and 17 assists in 31 games) matched P.A. Parenteau for the fewest games to reach 30 career points in Avalanche history. This was an impressive start to a contract year for Necas. He exceeded the 80-point mark for the first time in his career last season and is well-positioned to do it again in 2025-26 as Nathan MacKinnon's partner in crime on the top line.--Taavi Pailk
