Arturs Silovs Posts First Career Shutout in Penguins Debut
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs had a dream debut with the team on Tuesday, recording a 25-save shutout in a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers. It was a bit of a surprise that Silovs got the nod for the season opener ahead of Tristan Jarry, but he justified his selection with an impressive performance, which earned him his first NHL shutout. Maxime Legace was previously the only goaltender in Penguins history to post a shutout in his debut. While Silovs did great on Tuesday night, there are definitely much tougher tests to come for the Latvian netminder. Pittsburgh will be back in action on Thursday against the New York Islanders.
