Arturs Silovs Starts Season Opener
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs has been named the starter for the team's season opener against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night. The Penguins are rewarding Silovs for his strong preseason play. He had a 2-1-0 record during the preseason, allowing 2.55 goals with a .904 save percentage. A season ago, Silovs had a tough time in the NHL, going 2-6-1 with the Vancouver Canucks. However, he enjoyed a great year in the minors and will look to carry that momentum into the new campaign, with Tristan Jarry relegated to a backup role.
