Houston Astros catcher Max Stassi made the most of his two starts in the three-game series against the A's, going 4-for-9 with one home run, two doubles and two runs batted in. The strong showing snapped a 1-for-13 stretch for the young catcher who slowly is usurping playing time from veteran backstop Brian McCann. For the season, Stassi is slashing a very solid .273/.355/.509 through 55 at-bats this season with three home runs and four doubles. There is a chance manager A.J. Hinch might play the match-up's Friday and start McCann because of favorable lifetime numbers against probable Rangers starter Cole Hamels. But Stassi should be in line for the lion's share of the work behind the plate for the Astros in the coming weeks.--Joey C - RotoBaller
