Matt Olson Drops To Fifth In Batting Order
11 months agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson has been dropped to fifth in the team's batting order on Thursday against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Olson has only hit second in the lineup this year, but Thursday's contest will be the first time he's hit anywhere else. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger is hitting just .228 (59-for-259) on the year and has really struggled against southpaws, going 14-for-74 (.189) against them with just two home runs, 11 RBI and 33 strikeouts against them in 83 plate appearances. He's still a must-start fantasy slugger, but his league-leading 92 strikeouts have really hurt so far in 2023. In his second year in Atlanta, Olson has contributed 10 doubles, a triple, 18 home runs, 45 RBI and 46 runs scored in 68 games. DFS gamers will want to avoid Olson against a lefty Thursday.
