Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mark Giordano won't play against Detroit on Sunday. The veteran will be replaced by Conor Timmins, who will make his first appearance since Dec. 21. Giordano boasts six points (one goal, five assists) through 28 outings this season with 36 shots on goal, 29 hits, and 59 blocks. His best days are clearly behind him, but Giordano can still play an effective game. However, he gets the night off on Sunday to incorporate Timmins into the lineup. The 25-year-old has posted six points (one goal, five assists) in 13 games but struggled badly in his last outing, finishing a 9-3 loss to Buffalo with a minus-four rating in 12:29 of action.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
