2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic is making the start in left field and is hitting third in the team's batting order on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Taijuan Walker. Kelenic has earned a bump up the batting order for Seattle with his strong start to the 2023 campaign. The 23-year-old left-handed hitter went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run on Tuesday against the Phillies and is now slashing a cool .342/.395/.726 with a league-leading 1.121 OPS, seven doubles, seven home runs, 14 RBI, three stolen bases and 11 runs scored in 81 plate appearances and 21 games played. Many folks were hoping Kelenic would have a post-hype breakout season in 2023 after two tough seasons in the big leagues, and that's exactly what is happening as we close in on the first month of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
