George Kirby To Start Game 3 Of ALDS
2 years agoSeattle Mariners manager Scott Servais confirmed that rookie right-hander George Kirby will start Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Saturday against the Houston Astros. It means that left-hander Robbie Ray, who gave up the game-winning, walk-off home run to Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez in Game 1 on Tuesday, will not make a start in this series. Kirby looked good in his first 25 major-league starts during the regular season for the M's, going 8-5 with a 3.39 ERA (2.99 FIP), a 1.21 WHIP and a 133:22 K:BB in 130 innings pitched. He made one start against the Astros in 2022, allowing two earned runs on four hits while walking one and striking out seven in four innings pitched in a no-decision.
