Edward Cabrera Has Right-Shoulder Impingement
9 months agoMiami Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a right-shoulder impingement after undergoing an MRI exam. "Day-to-day thing," said manager Skip Schumaker. Cabrera has avoided any structural damage in his shoulder, but he also missed around a month in 2023 with a similar injury, so fantasy managers shouldn't just assume that the 25-year-old hurler will be able to pitch when the regular season kicks off in a couple of weeks. We should know more later this week on whether Cabrera will need to go on the injured list to start the year. In his third year in the big leagues in 2023, Cabrera went 7-7 with a 4.24 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 118 K's and 66 walks in 99 2/3 innings. Injuries and walks are concerning, but when Cabrera is on like he was to close out last year, he has the ability to be a fantasy asset with a career 26.2% strikeout rate.
