9 months agoToronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced on Tuesday morning that right-hander Jose Berrios will make the team's Opening Day start on March 28 on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays. "He embodies what we're talking about when we talk about stuff, durability, teammate, professionalism. I was thrilled to give him that news this morning," Schneider said. Berrios gets the nod with ace Kevin Gausman (shoulder) working through shoulder issues in spring training. It won't be the easiest matchup for DFS purposes against Toronto's American League East rival on the road. The 29-year-old Puerto Rican hurler had a solid year in 2023 in his second year in Toronto, going 11-12 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 52 walks and 184 K's in 32 starts. Berrios isn't as intriguing as he once was in fantasy, but he still has a solid floor as a back-end starter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
