Winnipeg Jets forward Blake Wheeler (lower body) has started to skate but is not ready to return to game action yet. The 35-year-old suffered a lower-body injury after a collision with his teammate on December 10 and was placed on long-term injured reserve. Jets head coach Dave Lowry said that he hopes the captain will join the Jets on the road later in January. Wheeler has recorded 17 points through 22 games this season, with one goal and 16 assists to go along with a minus one rating.
