Anthony Santander Still Not Swinging a Bat
Anthony Santander (shoulder) "week-to-week" as he recovers from inflammation in his left shoulder, manager John Schneider told reporters. Santander has been on the injured list since May 30, and while he has made progress, he's still not ready to swing a bat. The Jays are holding out hope that Santander will play again this year, but there's no question his first season in Toronto has been a massive letdown. After signing a five-year, $92.5 million contract in free agency last offseason, the former Baltimore Oriole has produced a brutal .179/.273/.304 line with six home runs and 18 RBI in 50 games and 209 plate appearances.
