Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alec Martinez suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Los Angeles, logging only 6:20 of action. He appeared to have gotten hurt whilst blocking a shot in the first period. Martinez is the league's leading shot-blocker this season with 132 efforts from the opposition stopped by him. Offensively, he's been able to get only five assists and hasn't found the back of the net despite firing off 33 shots on goal. The Vegas blue line remains without Shea Theodore (leg) and Zach Whitecloud (lower body), and Alex Pietrangelo recently missed a chunk of games for personal reasons. Being without Martinez would hurt the team again. The severity of Martinez's injury is unclear, but with Vegas back in action Wednesday versus Anaheim, it looks likely that he has to sit out at least one game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
