Alec Bohm Resting Wednesday
8 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is resting up on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds and is not in the starting lineup. In his absence, Whit Merrifield will get the start at third base and will bat eighth against Reds right-hander Frankie Montas. This will be Bohm's first day off of the season after he started each of the first five contests of the 2024 season. In those five games, the 27-year-old has gone 5-for-19 (.263) with a double, four RBI and a run scored in 20 plate appearances. Bohm's fantasy upside is somewhat limited hitting in the bottom half of Philly's lineup, but he should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs again this year. Merrifield has just one hit in his first 10 at-bats with the Phils and is a low-upside DFS play in the eight-hole. However, he is hitting .444 with an RBI in 18 career at-bats versus Montas.
