Wide Receiver Matchups to Target in Week 7 (2025) - Justin Jefferson, Rome Odunze, Romeo Doubs, Deebo Samuel, Rashee Rice

Justin Jefferson - Fantasy Football rankings, NFL DFS, Injury News

Kyle's favorite WR vs. CB matchups to exploit for Week 7 of 2025 - DFS wide receivers to target on DraftKings and FanDuel. These WR/CB matchups are GPP and cash game opportunities.

Welcome to the Wide Receiver Matchups to Target column for Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season. With six games of data to work with, we can now lean on individual performance, matchup grades, pace of play, and implied totals to pinpoint the best WRs to target in daily fantasy lineups. Week 6 had its ups and downs. Jaxon Smith-Njigba went nuclear, Tetairoa McMillan broke through with two scores, and Josh Downs crushed three times value at his low salary. However, Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams, and Keenan Allen all let us down despite being in favorable spots to produce.

This week, we'll break down the top five WR/CB matchups using Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades, along with key usage metrics that indicate which players can realistically hit three times their DraftKings salary. This is meant to serve as a guide for both cash games and GPPs -- these guys are in position to smash regardless of the contest type you're playing in.

Below are my top five WR vs. CB matchups for this week’s DFS main slate. Use these insights to fine-tune season-long lineups, player props, and DFS builds. Let’s get to it!

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings

  • $7.6K on DraftKings, $9K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Adoree' Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles)

Jefferson feels like he's being slept on a bit this year, but he's the highest-priced WR on the slate for a reason. His "floor" game is 11.1 DK points, and he has topped 22.3 DK points over the last two weeks despite failing to reach the end zone.

He's currently WR11 while ranking eighth in deep target share (52.9%), seventh in receiving yards (449), sixth in yards per route run (2.75), and third in PlayerProfiler's "explosive rating." He's still on the "top receiver in the NFL" short list, and he's in a prime position to remind the fantasy football community in Week 7 against the Eagles.

Philly would be more exploitable if Quinyon Mitchell (35th of 109 CBs) were inactive, but he was cleared to play on Friday. Still, this is a beatable secondary. Jefferson will see a lot of Adoree' Jackson (99th of 109 CBs), who owns a poor 46.2 "coverage" grade via PFF and has allowed 190 receiving yards in his coverage over five games.

The Eagles have surrendered the 10th-most receiving yards to WRs and just let the far-inferior Wan'Dale Robinson post 84 yards and a touchdown (20.4 DK points) last week. Jefferson is due for a ceiling game -- and he'll likely come in less popular than CeeDee Lamb.

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears

  • $6.6K on DraftKings, $7.8K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Kool-Aid McKinstry, Isaac Yiadom (New Orleans Saints)

Odunze put up a stinker in Week 6, managing just 5.2 DK points on two receptions for 32 yards in a forgettable matchup against Washington. Before that, he was on a tear, exceeding 15 DK points in every game while popping for a 34.8 DK point ceiling game in Week 2.

He's WR9 on the season while ranking 13th in air yards (528), fourth in deep targets (11), and third in touchdowns (five). The second-year pro has officially arrived as a difference-maker for the Bears.

He's not cheap anymore, but he's still underpriced for his role in a spot where he can outperform his salary against the Saints. New Orleans has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points per game to WRs, ranks 27th in pass DVOA, and sits 28th in pass DVOA against WR1s.

It has given up eight WR touchdowns this year despite facing several weak receiving corps (Patriots, Giants minus Malik Nabers, Bills). Ozunze will see plenty of Kool-Aid McKinstry (75th of 109 CBs) and Isaac Yiadom (74th of 109 CBs) -- both matchups he can win. Roster the emerging star with confidence in Week 7 lineups.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers

  • $5K on DraftKings, $6.3K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Max Melton (Arizona Cardinals)

Figuring out the Packers wide receiver room is an exercise in futility, but it can pay off in a big way if you hit on the right guy. Doubs has been Jordan Love's clear WR1, averaging 13.1 DK PPG with a monster 29.8 DK point outing in Week 4 against the Cowboys. His 20.6% target share is modest, but he leads the team by a wide margin with a 24% target share over the past two weeks.

He'll face the Cardinals, who rank 27th in PFF's defense grading and have allowed the second-most receiving yards per game (83.5) to WR1s. Max Melton has given up 249 yards on 16 catches (15.6 yards per reception) in his coverage. While Doubs will also see Will Johnson (eighth of 109 CBs), he'll have plenty of winnable reps in this matchup. Doubs is a strong contrarian play on both sites.

Deebo Samuel Sr., Washington Commanders

  • $6.2K on DraftKings, $7.1K on FanDuel
  • Vs. DaRon Bland, Trevon Diggs (Dallas Cowboys)

Deebo Samuel Sr. has been a steady contributor, posting at least 17.4 DK points in four of his six games this season. He's commanding a strong 27.2% target share with Terry McLaurin in and out of the lineup, and his 34 receptions (seventh among qualified WRs) and four touchdowns (fifth) underscore how reliable he has been.

He's also running a route on 91% of dropbacks since Week 4, when McLaurin first sat out. With McLaurin and red-zone threat Zach Ertz likely sidelined, Samuel has a chance to feast on the NFL's most exploitable pass defense.

Dallas has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to WRs and ranks second-worst in pass DVOA. It has surrendered 12 touchdowns to the position -- the most in the league.

Individual CBs like DaRon Bland, Trevon Diggs, and Reddy Steward grade out fine, but the overall unit is clearly vulnerable. With the highest implied total on the slate (54.5) and two top-10 pace teams, this game has shootout written all over it. Samuel is the clear top stacking piece in Washington, and he works well as a one-off piece in lineups as well.

Note: Samuel has been ruled out. Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore are now viable bargain-bin value options.

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

  • $5.6K on DraftKings, $7.5K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Darnay Holmes (Las Vegas Raiders)

This one is as straightforward as it gets. Rice will be chalky, but sometimes (most of the time) the obvious play is the right one. He's far cheaper than a WR1 in the Chiefs offense should be, and his matchup against the Raiders is elite. It's the kind of spot where talent, opportunity, pricing, and matchup all align -- we don't need to overthink this one.

Las Vegas has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points, the fourth-most receptions, and the sixth-most yards per game to WRs. Rice will primarily face Darnay Holmes (71st of 109 CBs), a matchup he should dominate with ease. We know Rice is a stud -- he posted 17.3, 18.5, and 29.1 DK points in his three full games last season.

The Chiefs have a 29-point implied total, and Rice should be peppered with high-quality targets from fantasy QB1 Patrick Mahomes in his season debut. Fire him up confidently in all formats before his price skyrockets.

Honorable Mention: Chris Olave (vs. Chicago Bears), George Pickens (vs. Washington Commanders), CeeDee Lamb (vs. Washington Commanders)

Thanks for reading, and good luck with your DFS contests!
